  1. Hi Punggolians,

I'll be joining this neighbourhood ..... really like the ambience there .... Hope the Old Punggol Kampong Spirit will b there .....

Bought a resale at Blk160B, overseeing Coney Island & canel...... Should be collecting my keys in Feb 09 ......

Hello Punggolians... it has been awhile...

  2. Thanks mighty6 and great to know I'll have a great neighbour :D

Oic.....that explains. No, just join only.

Hope to know more neighbours in time to come. Now, hoping everything will go smoothly :sport-smiley-004:

    Hi heyhoe,

Good news... the Forum is back online... catch you there...okie :good:

  3. Anyone didn't replace all the aircon units to avoid the renovation and only replace the compressor ? Can share your experience ?

    Thanks !

All depends on the condition of the fan units... Not recommended though and Agents may not fully warrant the compressor since the Fan units are not installed as a complete system.

If the fan-units are older than 5 years... surely not worth maintaining it... Better have a completely new installation for "worry-free" enjoyment.

  4. true, use wet & dry vacuum cleaner is the best :good:

(me use karcher wet & dry)

last time no vacuum cleaner so use wire to clear the pipe lol...

Ya, that may be the lowest cost to treat "blockage" and only in case of a blockage, else suction will not work.

Anyway, even if you manage to "suck" out the sludge, you can never clear the remnants that encourage growth again very quickly (given our climate)

Still better to treat it with an "agent" to fully "clean" the pipe of sludge remnants so that it last longer between treatments.

    :yamseng:

  5. I'm back. :sport-smiley-018:

Just signed my OTP :deal: . If everything goes smoothly, will be moving to the cluster opposite Central Christian Church. No idea which cluster is that.

Oh No! Punggol.org is down :bangwall:

    Hi Heyhoe,

Nice to hear from you again. Which block have you purchased? Blue Windows, then you are in the same cluster as me... The OCEANUS.

Ya... P.org kena hacked... may only be back on line in mid-June...

You have contacts with other members? I am completely shut-off and I cant locate them on face-book :bangwall:

  6. thanks so much ur help. i dono of the length of coaxial cable i need yet. but sim lim tower very near my workplace. so will go down when i'm free and decided the exact length. still deciding whether to do up a partition so that i can mount my lcd tv anot. shall bear with my tv for now. haiz... i hope the blurness doesn't lie with the length of the cable else i would needa shift my tv point.

and for Oda. my home is on the 36th floor. and it's the only unit on entire floor with full length(top to bottom) glass window. so try to guess which unit is it. :P

Hi Armani, my 2 cents worth.

Cable quality may be one element, but to have the coaxial cables going for 10m, you may need a signal booster, else the signal will definitely be affected.

And it will certainly reflect worse if you are watching a high definition TV, more pixels, more blurr...

Ask a shop that you trust at Sim Lim for their opinion

    :)

  7. nope nothing missing, didn't manage to get in... only the gate got unlock, other locks still intact.

    Hi popcorn,

Is everything OK since that incident?

Other than calling the police, may be a good opportunity for you to speak with your fellow neighbours to form a "Watch-Group" to "Look-See" on each others' properties.

Talk to your RC how that can be done... I understand that they have this so called COP (Community On Patrol) going on.

  8. The hougang/punggol nasi lemak is also quite famous but a bit pricey. 1 chicken wing, ikan billis, and long beans costs ard $3.50! <_<

Come up to Punggol... Punggol Plaza have some pretty nice food stalls...

Want KopiTiam style "restaurant"... go to Blk110, next to Prime supermart

Need 24hrs eating... go to Blk19+... next to Econ mini-mart... wont tell you since you wont miss it when you come here... :notti:

  9. Police have advised that in order to avoid break-in on cars, especially parked within Multi-Storey Carparks / Basement Carparks...

It is best where vehicle owners remove their Cashcards from their IU and do not have it covered as burglers may suspect that Cash-cards are hidden under the cover

To avoid inconvenience on having the windscreens smashed... do take precautions like not parking in secluded spots...

  10. Hi Heyhoe,

Find this Forum rather slow on Punggol matters... Why dun you try getting into punggol.org and join the forum... more exciting and focused since it is meant largely for Punggolians.

You can join discussion groups and should be able to get better advise from fellow residents living or moving in to those dedicated clusters...

    Check it out! :good:

Another week has gone by... Still no Fellow Punggol residents signing in... Haiz...

  11. Hi Guys, just to share my experience.

It dosn't just happen with Daikin Air-Cons (Anyway, mine is also Daikin). The problem is caused by blockage in the drain pipe due to molds and sludge, especially with our Humid Singapore and when you do not turn on your units regularly.

Service man to the rescue may be the answer but costly right?, so I recommend a thorough service with chemical wash and all by qualified / legitimate sources once every 2 or 3 years depending on your usage.

In between, every 3 to 6 months, simply remove the cover and spray the "solution" now available in FIX DIY shops, a product called CONCAIRE (they should pay me fees for helping them promote) to clean the fins / blades / tray and also help clear the pipes as well. for $50.00, I washed 6 Fan units by myself (No mess, it comes with a big bag to contain dirty water dripping out). It is simple as 1,2,3... try it!

For very bad choke... Mr. Muscle Drainage solution to the rescue. I do not recommend pouring this directly onto the Air-Con tray. I used a long-nozzle spray to pump Mr. Muscle into the drain pipe and let it "burn through" before flush spraying with warm water. For a 5 years installation, I did that only once. Cheap and effective. Dun listen to the "Crap" of laying new pipes unless you have a Rat stuck in the pipe. HeeHee :notti:

Enjoy DIY and Save Save Save! :sport-smiley-003:

So has anyone experienced problems... and tried similar methods to save $$$?

  12. Yes, I'm looking at resale and I do like Blk6XX for the views and serenity. Then again, I need the amenities due to my kids.

Guess, I'll have to go based on my budget.

Still, looking out..... :) Hope to move there soon.

  13. I'm thinking of shifting around this area....

Currently, viewing over the weekends. Any recommendation as where which part of Punggol would be good to stay? If so, why? also...any place to avoid?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Heyhoe,

Have you decided on your ideal plot / cluster to settle down?

  14. Just be careful with this type of things, if so good the government might as well mass implement it since we are on the go green agenda. There is a discussion about this somewhere in this forum.

Well, BAsic formula P = VA, ie Power = Voltage X Current

So if that gadget limits / lowers the current to your device while Voltage stays constant, the Power output at your device end will proportionally be reduced.

  15. I would like to connect my Wii and PS2 to my Sony Bravia X series, 46 inch. At the same time, I intend to get a good home entertainment system. I am thinking of getting some good quality speakers and a good 'disposable' DVD player.

My question is, is it possible to all 3 components hooked up to the LCD Sony TV? I have tried doing so with my existing entertainment system. This resulted in using all the AV ports behind and the side. With the cables sticking at the side, it is not very sightly.

I would like to know, is there a way where the gaming console and entertainment system is connected together and then goes to the TV?

Do I need a Home Theatre Receiver?

Is there anything I should consider in this type of set-up?

All depends on the connections available. Home Theatre system gives you connectivity to your Audio / Visual enjoyment and if you look for a system that allows you to connect all your DVD, Wii and PS2 to it that will be ideal but costly... Consider other inputs from SCV, Cam-corders etc before making that decision.

You may want to consider getting those Selector switch boxes from SoundTech or other brands with multiple inputs (4,6 or more) with 1 or 2 output (less than S$100). They come in models of manual selection or remote controlled ones as well. Sim Lim have alot of choices.

With this, you can connect all your input via this box and output to your LCD via RCA and have the TV output to your Entertainment system for Amplified sound enjoyment. Thus you will have the option of just playing them via your TV settings or blasting via your Receiver.

In my case, I can connect my X-Box 360 via HDMI directly to my HD LCDTV for clarity.

    Hope this helps...

  16. actually there is an ongoing fund rasising for the cc... it will be built next to punggol plaza...

Ya, I just saw the banner (at the new bus stop) today when I went over to Prime Supermart.

Is the picture for real? The CC looks to be integrated with housing and there is even a canal / River too... so if the plot next to PP is meant for the CC, then the picture is just for show.

I will get into the Punggol website to see if information is available.

    Thanks Patrick.
