    hihi junxian,

need a nice and comfortable chair but now still haven't find anything to my liking.

think i'm too fussy liao :P

so far ikea chairs are of pretty good quality

just that the price also not competitive :dunno:

    hi applefreak,

went to ikea twice liao. sat on all the chairs but not comfortable enough leh.

went to vhive but out of stock, sian half.

just wonder anywhere i can get all these things besides these two places???

  2. hihi,

anyone know where any i get nice book shelf, study chair and cabinet besides v-hive and ikea?

went to v-hive to order a study chair but out of stock. got to wait till july then stock arrive :( urgently need a comfortable study chair as just moved into the new house.

not very comfortable with ikea as the quality my friend commended was lousy. the drawers that she bought previously collapsed when the things she put inside was too heavy :o

appreciate if anyone can help, thanks :yamseng:

  3. i encountered a very long delay for handover. but not done by chew.

what is their serious mistake?may i ask?

it's a serious mistake which i prefer not to disclose.

    sorry about that 8|

    Hi Snow,

How is the workmanship and design which Chew did for you?

I'm quite worried now as we have just signed a contract with Chew . It was an impulsive move as we were both pretty impressed with the idea our designer had on solving some odd angles of our home during the sales pitch.

However, i'm feeling apprehensive now. The contract details are very vague ..eg a one liner " Supply and install 14 feet laminated kitchen cabinet with solid top surface " 'supply and install full height 8 feet wardrobe " etc. Morever, i find our designer is very $$ oriented. Wanted the balance of the 10% downpayment before even coming up with a drawing. Other IDs we went to were at least willing to come up with a sketch drawing during the quotation phase.

Does Chew also have the tendency of adding a lot of hidden costs on top ?

    TIA!

sorry for the late reply, been quite busy recently.

the workmanship that chew partly done for me 1 word to describe sxxx.

in the end the 2nd contractor that i engaged have to hack part of it and redo for me :curse:

they do have some hidden cost if you choose better type of laminate or nicer tiles :(

hope yours is much better then mine as mine is a completely nightmare :furious:

  4. Hi Snow

    I work for www.dnalife.com.sg

Our installation per wall is only $120 - $150. And all our wall designs can be customised to your liking.

Why don't you visit our web. Can email me if you need more details.

By the way, our wall covering designs - Disney princess came out on TV last night - Mini Home Decor Survivor.

All 3000 available designs can be made into roller blinds as well.

    hi junkie,

what's the estimated cost of wallpaper which is 5metres long, height which is of those standard hdb type?

hope you can advice me on that. thanks! :yamseng:

Don't recommend DIY unless you are a really hands-on type of person as it is laborious to match the pattern between the various panels and the removal of air bubbles is tedious (same process as that used to stick windows film).

I think you can try DNAlife since their labour charge is pretty attractive but got to see the after sales service/support (patching up/re-work/repair etc).

I really like wallpaper compared to just painting as you can achieve different textures and patterns. Only issue is the longevity and strength of the glue used and wallpaper may not be suitable for families with young children .

    hi owm,

agree with you. really tedious to put up the wallpaper ourselves as it's very tiring and the pasting come out may not as what we desire.

better engage someone who is expert on this to do it for us. :thumbs up:

  5. No worries :dancingqueen:

Did you join the HomeFix membership? Free registration and I think every $200 spent can exchange for $5 voucher, not much lah but better than nothing. Heehee...

No leh. I didn't know there's a membership club at Home Fix and the cashier didn't mention anything at all, haha :yamseng:

  6. their number is 83059838. They only open on Sats last time, but remembered from the banner advertisement they put up a few weeks ago that they are opened everyday now..hope tat helps.

    good luck shopping!! :dribble:

    hi rachelle,

thanks for your fast response! :P

will call up tomorrow to check if they are open? hopefully it's open and will go down immediately to have a look :P

    thanks once again, cheers! :P

  7. went to goodrich today. lotsa nice wallpapers, see until eyes blurr :notti:

checked with the guy how much they charge for pasting the wallpapers? was told that the price varies. he quoted me the pasting cost $350 for the living room and $250 for the master bedroom.

felt that the cost of pasting very steep. wanna DIY myself but think i couldn't manage. scared make a mess out of it and spoilt the wallpapers :jawdrop:

anyone know any people who can help me to do the pasting for the wallpapers? how much is the cost?

appreciate if anyone know and can pass me the contact. thanks u! :dancingqueen:

  8. I think the aluminum poles are quite widely available. I saw at the mini-mart near my house those cannot adjust length type at about $7+ each. Than at I think NTUC or something those adjustable type also at $7+ and at HomeFix at about $11+ adjustable type (but looks better than the NTUC ones).

    hi keltong,

as per your advice, i found and bought it at Home Fix :dunno:

total cost $130 inclusive of the metal thingy plus 6 poles. was very happy and relieve now :P

    thanks U :)

i can sell to you mine which is direct from HDB, Aluminum and sturdy unlike the Aluminum ones that are sold outside :good:

    hi deepakvali,

i just bought it from Home Fix yesterday. anyway thanks :P

  9. Hi Snow,

Luckily u got chance to talk to their Big Boss and get compensation. :)

We also went to their showroom near IMM cos of their heavy advertisement, but were put off by their all uncle sales talk. :P

    hi cantona7,

it's becasue they made a very serious mistake, that's why the boss got to come out and talk to me.

normally the boss dun care about all this. he'll leave it to his so call e care manager :dunno:

  10. Ikea has that mount on wall type of console. And its can be a book shelf too. Sturdy and heavy, not the flimsy type. They have too the 1.9m plank in 4 or 5 shades. But I think can hold a certain amount of weight, and with that you must have an LCD TV.

I didnt do a feature wall too... well cos everyone is doing it, whats the novelty. I figured too that after a while...that wall is going to be an eyesore. Cant paint over it.

Alternatively, maybe try wallpaper, its cheaper. www.goodrichglobal.com ... nice stuff they have.

thanks for your recommedation. i checked it out at www.goodrichglobal.com and find those wallpaper very nice and attractive :dunno:

i actually have just painted my wall and was wondering if i should add some wallpaper to 1 side of the living room as it's look a bit plain :P

will go down to have a look at the showroom and check it out when i'm free.

    thanks and cheers :)

  11. so sorry, been busy lately and posting in a hurry. reading back the previous posts -dunno what me talking haiz dumb.

it's the woods that sucks away your water.

to increase water, buy a big water tub like those in the olden days put it in the bathroom.

    mace, haha, it's ok !!

i cant put a big water tub in the batheroom. my toilet put a toilet screen, basin and wc already not much space to walk already 8|

thanks a lot for your fast response and guidance, me really appreciate it :notti:

hope ya got a nice weekend and take your time to relax, cheers :jawdrop:

  12. I think the aluminum poles are quite widely available. I saw at the mini-mart near my house those cannot adjust length type at about $7+ each. Than at I think NTUC or something those adjustable type also at $7+ and at HomeFix at about $11+ adjustable type (but looks better than the NTUC ones).

but how about the metal thingy that need to be attached to the wall ceiling? :yamseng:

  13. the 5elements works in such a way that having too little or zero is bad, having too much is also bad.

there are cases like a water person having TOO much water and needs metal to suck away some of the water in order to be more balance.

    hi mace,

i'm some sort of dew water, meaning not enough water that type. so what can i do to attract more water to my element?

all along i thought metal produce water? whenever i'm with a metal person, all things went surprisely smooth for me.

  14. dun ever go to chew interior, you will regret it! :yamseng:

they keep pressurizing you and won't be interested if your contract is small. they give false promises to make you sign the contract. after signing, they dun honour their promises and fail to deliver what are suppose to do.

look out for the small little clause below the contract! once you sign it and if you break your contract, you are liable for 20% penalty of the total cost of contract even thou work not yet even started! even worse is after you sign the contract, they'll ask you to pay 2k as deposit! Before signing, they didn't even mention anything about the deposit at all, arhhhhhhhh :curse:

their workmanship suck! such a big company and you thought everything should be good but in fact it's the opposite! designs wise also so so, can't come up with great designs. mostly it was copied from other ID :(:P

believe me dun ever go to chew interior! you'll definitely regret it as i'm one of the victim. it's a completely nightmare to me and casued me tonnes of headaches :furious:

dun wan others to follow in my footstep. i'm not bluffing and choose a contractor thru friends recommendation is much better. at least thru friends you know how's their workmanship, service and altitude.

it's a total nightmare to me and i dun wan to think about it already. hope bros and sis here check and think throughly before you made or sign any contract.

  15. Given free by ID (i know there is no such thing as free, but still nice to call it "free"). Due to our small kitchen, got to saw off quite a bit of the pole. Happy with it so far, convenient.

    hi tym,

love your retrackable clothes hanger, it look cool! i'm looking for something like that but got a limited budget as spent too much on renovation already :sport-smiley-004:

anyone know where to get this kind of clothes hanger and the pricing please? thanks! :yamseng:

  16. hi

i got small round mirror..and place outside above the main door

after i put the mirror..everything went smooth..

    ba63e62a.jpg

this is how i put the mirror..i put on the left cos most of the bad thing is on the left.

you jsut place the mirror where the bad thing is located.

the red dot is falded away.is should be change when the color went off.but i didint cos i am going to move out soon..

And you got enough $$ budget..you should do you window with reflection paste on.

is best!!as reflect out all the bad things!

i am going to do for my new home windows,as got a super big tree ,too near my home!:sport-smiley-004:

    :yamseng:

    hihi wennie,

wah! thanks and love you so much man! beside advising me, you still made an effort to take the picture and post it to let me have a better idea!

me very touch and will follow as per your advice.

thanks thanks wennie, love you lah, heehee

  17. fire destroy metal not water.

fire diminish the effect of wood(cactus) while metal direct destroy wood.

if you are water, it's metal(gold, white..etc) that sucks away your lifeforce.

if you dont want to close your windows, then hang a windchime at the window facing the cactus.

The only people who tells you windchime attracts ghosts are the nonsense dangkees.

    hi mace,

what you mean by metal sucks away my lifeforce? all long i thought gold. white, etc are all my lucky colour. Need your guidance badly, thanks! :sport-smiley-004:

  18. use metal and fire against wood.

if location is persists, hang big big windchimes and put decoration your door area RED.

Window that faces the plants, keep it closed at all times and put those "mirror" window film.

cactus is wood, shoes are wood.

    hi mace,

i'm water and fire destroy water, thus making RED my unlucky colour. heard hanging big big windchimes will attract evil spirits is it?

the cactus plant is facing the middle of my windows. so u mean i need to close all the windows at all times? heard it's good to open the windows and let sunlight to shine in to make the house auspicious and prevent it from getting too yin. do u mean those black colour sunlight protection sheet?

really need your help and advices as i'm really in a dilemna now. thanks bro! :good:
