xiaoheng 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2015 (edited) my 9 months old Mit Starmax aircon keeps having unpleasant smell coming out on and off... it smell like toilet omg.... hav been contacting Mit & installer both hav come down several times but failed to rectify the problem.... what i did is Mix dish washer soap with water and spray on top the ac coil unit... and it does solve the problems but was wondering weather will it damage the ac? thx in adv Edited March 30, 2015 by xiaoheng Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
w7_lee 11 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 It's fine.... AC chemical wash people also use 'some sort of detergent' and water. Just don't spray into the electrical/electronic compartment. But one thing to note is that there will be dirt that will drip down the fins and flow into the AC drip tray (evaporator)and/or into the condensate pipe. Guest Nick Zhou Report post Posted April 15, 2015 U can spray some deodorizer onto the cooling coil to "mask" the smell.Set your aircon unit to fan mode or 32 degrees for 15 mins before you off the aircon every morning after a night's usage.It might help in the smell issue.
