  1. My place doesn't exactly have pure white homogenous tiles. It looks more yellowish than white. I think it depends on angle of light etc? if it helps, my flooring is still shiny even after one year. Not sure about patches. Do you mean watermarks? Dirt and all is quite obvious because it's light color. However, I can't say the same for grout lines. My grout lines have darkened and cleaning is quite a pain...
  2. Lol, that would have been cool. I was in the market looking at home automation but I realised that OMG, the amount spent could easily cover a COV of a HDB flat these days. Actually hor, I'm told by the industry suppliers that the Ipad can be used for such home automation systems instead of purchasing an additional universal touch screen. I'm just thinking how they can integrate man...
  3. Get a pet. My housecat is good with catching roaches and all. Lizards seem to disappear whenever there's a pet in the house.
  4. Hey guys, first thread here! I noticed that many of you have had pole concept wardrobes done (something like a WIW). Doesn't it get dusty even with the doors? Maybe I'm a traditionalist but my current apartment has a pole concept complete with sliding doors yet I still can find spiders, dust, and ants lurking around in my wardrobe. It's quite frustrating and I'm not sure whether it's industry practice to affix the poles directly to the wall or ceiling. Do you guys face the same problem as I do? Thanks!
  5. Hi guys, my first post here! Been reading many threads and one of the things I've learnt from RT is that cheap is one thing but communication and relationship with your ID/contractor is another. All that has been said here has merits and I'm one who also asked Ronald for a quote sometime back. If it helps, I got his quote a month later for my place at Tyrwhitt. Ronald's here trying to make a decent living and he made it clear to me right from the start that he's bogged down with tons of administrative work. To be fair, it doesn't help him when he doesn't have access to my place yet and only relying on my measurements and photos to quote. Besides, I doubt anyone will engage any person to do services especially reno just based on opinions and comments online. From what I understand, it's actually common practice to visit sites and client's houses to look at workmanship? Look around more and make your decision lah. Just remember the whole process like how you got married. The choosing of the dresses lah, the dinner venue etc. I can't recommend anyone since well, I'm still reviewing quotes myself but I hope to share with you guys soon what I intend to do with my ultra small 400 sqf place. Heh
