  1. Hi everyone

Is it usually the shops will charge additional for the "regulator" i.e. the turn-knob switch for adjusting fan speed? If dun have that means use the pullstring...

The shop I went to charge $35 for the regulator thingy...not sure whether to go for it or just use string ;p

  2. hi hi people

For those curtain rods that are not extendable and are very long, can pls share how to transport home? Can't fit into car...doubt can take onto public bus/MRT....is a truck/lorry the only option other than asking the shop to deliver?

    thanks lots for advice! :)

  3. Hi fifi,

Cos the BTU (horsepower) of the non-inverter system is not enough to support living room + 2 bedrooms; where my living room needs higher BTU cos larger area than a regular bedroom.

So that's why lor... i thk?? hahhaa...sorry not very zai3 about such technical things ;p

Took extended warranty cos kiasu, in case anything happens within the next 5 yrs.... ;-p

  4. I just bought last weekend at Gaincity...prob not the cheapest but then sales guy was nice so we decided to give him the business ;p But only bought at our 3rd visit. =P

Bought a Toshiba system 3 Inverter. With bracket and extended (5 yrs) warranty and Armaflex 0.5 inch, total damage was about $3.3k. Had to buy inverter cos we want to do living room + 2 bedrooms, so the non-inverter type cannot. The latter can only support if it had been 3 bedrooms configuration :(

Decided on Toshiba in the end cos sales guy said whole thing made in Japan, instead of just parts. :) Haha sorry if I sound like a sucker tho.

  5. Hi jack

Eh...i'm afraid havent got to the maintenance part yet. I didn't really hesitate too much cos at my mum's house, the kitchen also only painted walls without tiles and the place looked ok, so I thought should be alright too ;-p

Except that she put up 2 pieces of glass as backsplash at the cooking area since that's the dirtiest part already. Then everyday after cooking she'll wipe and clean any grease or splashes on the glass.

When I choose my paints I'll remember to ask my ID abt it ;-p then I'll post again :)

  6. I also thought the boss Johnson and the Chinese ID were friendly and honest, and helped us think of ways to save costs.

Bu then the quotes, like mentioned above, were too general and subsequent requotes left out some things in the previous quotes...so in the end we didnt take Zhi Seng, cos we thot better to list down to details all the items for reno.

But guess they are still not bad if you aren't a stickler to details...i'm just the kiasee-kiasu type ;-)
