  1. Hi all....

I have been MIA for a long time.

Did anyone in blk 91 noticed a rattan chair being disposed inside the lift today? Really had a shock when i saw that rattan chair sitting inside the centre lift serving 21st-40th storey.

Too bad i can't post the pic here due to administrator restriction for photobucket.

    Rattan chair in a lift

oh my hb found condom at the staircase near our unit... that one best...

  2. white powder coated window frame with blue tinted window..casement type for the whole house.. paisey cannot see the blue tinted window from the photo..due to my horrible photo taking skill..

    P1020559.jpg

Both toilets window also up.. given clear glass window..my current house is using black tinted glass window.. i wonder if black tinted glass will look better..hmmm

    P1020564.jpg

thou i didn't change the windows, but they put up the window grilles very early... most of my friends who heard of this say how come its done in the early stage of reno... dono hw they plan the job....

when i see ur window, it reminds me of the problem with the opaqueness at my hse... coz its new flat, so the layout is such that the ppl upstairs can see the shadow of the person using the toilet downstairs... very bad design... still haven get down to solving this problem... :bangwall:

  3. haha you really everytime think of dust and dirt and how to clean!

When I moved in, can I ask you all abt easy maintenance? haha :D

but feel the wind blowing in throu the gap abit exaggerating ba. :P

Actuali is our area onli windy during the day? In the evening, NO wind at all! So stuffy! (I havent' bought my fan yet)

of coz la... i so regret alot of things we did for reno... high maintenance... so everything's too late by the time u move in... hahahah... *not trying to scare u hor...

erm... really got wind blowing la... of coz its not to the extent of hearing the 'howling' sound thru the gap la (thou there's really sound at that 'fateful' night where its reported in the news abt strong wind experience)...

yup, our area usually windy in the day... seldom experience in the night... especially during this HOT period...

  4. yeah lo $200 leh. :(

But I guess hanging a cloth is quite a feasible idea cos must dry my hands somewhere wat. haha

Ok la. Tat doggy is cute :P At least can still use those conventional door stopper. Me die die have to use these kind cos tiling too high so there's not much gap btw the door and the floor! I initially oso like those cute cute door stoppers. Very cool haha

Ok. let's pretend. Guess tats the onli way. My pen knife is ready anytime when I get there. lol

actually i'd prefer less gap between the door and floor... den less dust gets in! haiz... too bad, the gap for our hse is big till i can even feel the wind blowing from the corridor....

  5. so u not gg to add another backsplash at the side of the kitchen wall ah? also ok la... maybe can hang cloth for wiping your hand @ that corner or maybe something else so that can keep that wall 'occupied'? juz a suggestion.... :paint:

haiz... i requested for that kind of door stopper as well.. as usual, promises not fulfiled... so end up seeing the 'doggy' nw lor...

yes, i used pen knife and yes, i pretended that i've gotten rid of the whole piece of plastic... hahaha... :P

  6. err, of coz i not hardworking to wipe dry the rack la... but it didn't rust lor...

as to the backing, dono hw to describe... it doesn't end right at the edge of the wall but rather the end tip of the round corner... if u purposely run ur finger, u'll feel the edge of the SS but not to the extend of cutting finger... wonder if u understand wat i mean... hehe... :P

So can anyone advise whether should add another glass panel for this side of the wall?

My contractor say not nice cos cannot hide the edge, which is true. Then it'll be very very dark ard the basin area. But is it nice with a sudden splash of white tiles there?

i've had stainless steel covering the side... ur case, its more of consistency? one more side dark, wont make the place any darker i tink... :P

as for the shower rack, we bought SS from royal fanco... till nw doesn rust... oredi used it for over 6 months liao...

  8. I have seen how the cleaners do their jobs and i do not envy them. They are a pretty diligent bunch, especially this old uncle who I always see at the MSCP. The cleaners have done their part, we as residents should do ours.

unfortunately for me, i haven't seen any cleaners in action... perhaps its always wrong timing? of coz i've done my part of not littering (or do u mean scrubing myself? if so, whats the SC&CC we've paid for besides clearing the rubbish chutes?), but i juz wonder (based on my 'sightings' @ my mum's place when the cleaners were cleaning common corridor) hw do they clean? if its strong water jet spray, shouldn't the marks be gone? i've moved in for more than 6mths, the marks are still there...

    still wondering... :dunno:

  9. less the technical part abt structural restriction, i feel that it is feasible to adjust the drawer tracks (like what lawry propose)... feel that your case (to argue for compensation if all else fails) is stronger if you've got black and white... that's what happened to my case when we wanted something and it turns out to be something else... more leverage on ur side to demand for things... of coz u muz also be reasonable la... all the best!

  10. great then i'm gg to get my contractor to do the level up for the window grill gap. hee

so are you staying in ur house now? I go visit you first la? so i can oso get ideas on where to place the bathroom accessories. the bathrooms are so small! and i haven't bought these items yet. lol after tat, then drop by to my place to help me check.. hee hee. acutuali i realize more eyes really help a lot, can spot problems faster and different people have differnt view point so can oso spot things tat I did not think of checking before.

i'm holding more than 10% leh. my contractor will indeed jump. lol.

ok sure, u pm me la... :P

  11. Hey thanks! but what did ur contractor do to cover up? looks like placing a metal strip over?

but if you cover up the gap, is it difficult to open the casement window since its handle is at the bottom. Will it difficult to hold the handle to push or pull the window open/close?

i think the material's the same as the frame of the window grilles... its the same level as the part where ur grilles slides... so it shd not obstruct the handle of the window... thus, i do not hv difficulty operating the windows...

as to the gap between ur laminate floor and toilet, i tink i also have that...

abt ur bomb shelter door prob, i dont quite get it... best is we can go visit ur hse and help u check for problems that shd be rectified... :P

of coz u shouldn't give the 10% if u're still not satisfied (all the more so since ur contractor say can hold on to it)... owing to my own reno experience, i STRONGLY advise u not to give the remaining amt until they rectify all the things.... haha... ur contractor's really gona hate me for this...

  12. My window grills :

gapbtwgrills.th.jpg I don't like the gap. It's eatting into my pretty laminates! Cos it's casement window with handle at the bottom, the gap has to be bigger but must it be really so big! aiyo :bangwall:dsc00823h.th.jpgdsc00824x.th.jpgdsc00826wsa.th.jpg

for us, we got the contractor to cover the gap... concern is maintenance issue... don't want to have difficulty cleaning the gap... btw, we level up the stupid ledge too...
