  1. Hi, I think I would like to recommend my contractor as I have been very happy with the work done ( I am now at final week of renovation). The tiling work is very neat. Grouting line look even. The tiler even grind off exposed sharp edges of tiles (near the door opening) evenly based on his own initiative. The holes cut out is neat too. I did spray painting on old wardrobe. The spray color and layer is very even. The wardrobe look like new, except a few line of crack which were already there prior to spraying. The painting is also very tidy. No distinctive overflow of paints to other areas. Just that I will need some more touch up here and there after the whole reno is done. As I didn't do any major carpentry work, so no comment. But the carpenter did help to repair some cupboard doors and the end result is like as original but without any previous flaw, I could not see anything that show signs of repair work done. You may pm me for more details

  8. Hi, I know this is a stupid question but hope someone can advise. I intend to change my type of curtain from current Roman Curtain to Day & Night Curtain. Can I use back the same curtain track, or must I change to the Day & Night Curtain type? If need to change, can the curtain maker down the previous curtain track prior to installing the new one without extra charges? Or do I have to take it down myself first? Please help!
  9. Why nobody response to this? Is this topic to dry for discussion? Or is it nobody cares whether these may or may not cause health hazards? PLLEEAAASSSSEEEEEE Advice!
  10. Hi all, I have heard of some health hazard using these. Hope to find out whether it is myth or fact : Plastering (below quoted from a scientific study done by a professor) 1. Plaster dust (calcium sulfate) is slightly irritating to the eyes and respiratory system. In situations where there is heavy inhalation of the dust, more severe respiratory problems can result. 2. Potassium sulfate and potassium alum are slightly toxic by ingestion; potassium alum is slightly toxic by skin contact, and can cause mild irritation or allergies in some people. 3. Borax is moderately toxic by ingestion, by inhalation, and by absorption through burns or other skin injuries. It is also slightly toxic by skin contact, causing alkali burns. 4. Concentrated acetic acid is highly corrosive by ingestion, inhalation, and skin contact. 5. Burnt lime (calcium oxide) is moderately corrosive by skin contact (especially if the skin is wet), and highly toxic by inhalation or ingestion. 6. Many of the additives used may be hazardous. Silica and vermiculite dust are highly toxic by inhalation, and may cause silicosis. Small amounts are not a major hazard. Granite Countertop Rradiation Composite Granite Sink also radiation issue due to granite material in the composite granite sink Hope those who are familiar with these paoducts is able to explain further. Thanks.

  12. Hi, I wonder whether is it a standard practice to bargain with the contractor with individual itemised quote before signing the package itself? I am worried that the contractor might agree on the discounted price but later cut here and there on the material & quality during renovation work. Please advise & thanks....
  13. Hi, I am currently trying to compile the list of address & contact number for tiles shop in Singapore. Please contribute if you know of any. Thanks....
  14. Hope somebody can advise... Which contractor should I choose? A => I like his honesty, experience, promptness & detailness; but the quality & skill of his workers not that good compared to contractor B B => I like the quality & skill of his worker (the end result of the renovated house), but I dun really prefer the personality of this contractor to contractor A (Give me a feel that he is not very honest) Which one should I choose?
