Hi,I got similar rust on my toilet cupboard hitch. Then my contractor apologies to me, he said the acid cleaning causes it.
Hehe.. u can check with your contractor.
If it is really cause by acid washing...I really will make a call to my contractor
Btw, how you solve the problem ? does it come back again after wiping ?
-
Sure, caused by acid washing. Prevent metallic stuff contact wwith acid. Use "brasso" to rub & clean.Ok... but is it effective in preventing it from forming again ?

hi my ikea toilet fittings also rust haah!however i was able to scrub off using normal 3M sponge...hope this helps..
thx for the info

1. Stainless steel comes with many grade, SS316, SS402, SS706, etc. Using normal "Brasso" to clean the rust. Somehow the SS intact with some acidic fluid.2. You are right, it the rust is light, use WD40 rub with cloth, if rust is heavy, use "Brasso".
3. "Deposit" of residual water. This is quite "normal", should clean bathroom everyday with soup water (PH<7), make ventilation as much as possible.
Glassware is best, but easy to break, stainless steel best to use SS316. In fact, I allow not "wood" stuff within bathrooms, and have changed all screws to SS402.
wow thx for your advice...
you seems very knowledgeable on such hardwares eh

Hi,It could be cause by acid cleaning after the house renovation.
omg

1) The stainless steel rack that I use to hold bottles of shampoo and body foam is showing signs of rust, I though stainless steel wont rust ? Why is this happening ?
2) Bathroom accessories are not stainless steel, any is appearing to have dots of stain on the steel, is it due to water when it dries up ? What solution can be done ?
3) My 4mths old bathroom tiles constantly having yellowish stain which I can easily brush off using a brush. What causes these yellowish stains ? Anyone knows ? The same goes for the flooring tiles in the bathroom.
Many Thanks for those who can provide advices and help.

what causes these rust at the bottom of the kitchen sink ? How can I prevent this ?

Hi all,
I completed the house renovation like 4 months ago, before renovation there have already been leakage on the pipe above the MBR toilet.
The reason we didn't change altogether during the renovation was due to the fact that we thought the plastering/painting of the pipe can cover that tiny almost unseen hole that causes the small leakage.
Now the ceiling near the pipe had a semi dark patch area and occasionally the pipe will drip water down the tiles.
What should I do ? Contact the HDB or TownCouncil ? Via which channel ? Guide me pls...
How will they access the situation ? If they found out the fault lies with my neighbor above me, and if necessary actions need to be taken like re-do any works, do I have to pay ? since the fault lies with my neighbor... Will HDB pay like 50% then the other 50% co-shared between my neighbor and me ?

After reading from other thread, i called Tong Glass Work and was quoted 120 for 8mm, add 30 for delivery.Zio, may I know the shop which quoted you $25 for 90x25cm, might want to check out the price for my dimension & 8mm.
Tong Glass was one of my shortlisted shops.
I called them and their quote was more expensive den the one I am getting from. I only find the shops that are recommended and nearest to my house, like AMK, Serangoon, Defu, Ubi area...
I will PM you the shop details.
-
i narrowed down to one shop.
I was quoted $25 for 6mm 90X55cm glass with smoothing of edges.
They say will wrapped nicely and put in your car when self collect.
I looked for all these shops that are near my house then call everyone of them to ask for quotations. Some dont provide glass, they just cut glass, so make sure u ask.
-
I also need to fnd these shops that sell class cut out to the measurement i want.PM me if you are still finding...
I got quite a few liao
but have yet to call them to ask abt price.
den if maybe good, in the end u may be the one recommending me, caus I may not need their service until 2 more weeks later
-
Eh... i think .. $10 mean , to make the edge rounder and not so sharp...The glass maybe another price.. depends on dimension.
Ya I tink so too loh... lol $10 for smoothing the edges
-
all scared to share contacts after the $10 deal , LoL
4MX5M for $10 I also find it super cheap leh... lol
I only need 90+cm X 40cm, hahaha
if after I call every one of the shops I find, and all more expensive than $10, I PM limlim liao, LoL
