carpenter Ah Di ah... mm then I know who. It's Mr Leow who did my house. He's quite a nice chinese guy. But his workers from mainland China can be a bit rude. If anything is not to your liking speak to Mr Leow if his people don't listen.
START T-BLOG!!!!

Thanks. Mine is Bellus. Understand from uncle, he has ordered from another sub-contractor and there were some problems. Finally, uncle got it directly from Bellus company and its already settled.Last weekend - finally done... well....almost - just abit - adjusting the switches, lacquer(sp?) the main door, some cleaning.
Imagine it took about 4 months to finish up the reno works. I am glad it is over....
YAY! happy for you.
Hiee,Anyone knows where can I find wireless remote door bell?
Thank you.
I got mine from Homefix at Tampines. Legrand one.

mm their website no longer works... anyway they didn't have very much up. You should go to their shop to see the catalogues they have.
-
Yup a floorplan will definitely help.

yes, ah soon have a 'bah ku teh' in batam mah... he says hor, if u go batam, if u see 'fu hua bah ku teh', that's his stall lor...hahah....matchgirl: where is ur house area? when ur reno started?
pink: u still remember uncle pattern until now! so far ur house condition good?
haha who can forget his pattern?
MMmM the things in my house seem ok. Except for one wall which I told uncle he can rectify when he does up my recess area which I just bought.

ooo I love the cream tiles you chose. Somehow I prefer the cream matt ones to the shiny white ones. I think the matt ones give a nice rustic look! *love*
And I love that round false ceiling!! Does it cost more to have a round one?
-
I love the red decals. They provide a very nice contrast to your black and white home! ... mmm ya there seems to be a gap between the chandelier ones and the vase... mm unless you change to a much bigger vase i guess.
Did you do something to your dining lights? mmmm
Love your house... even the study... Study rooms are meant to be messy. haha
-
Hi babe,Thanks to your recommendation, I finally put the decal up on my wall! Really appreciate your help!
YAYYYY! picture picture???
OMG!! She is so cute !!! I thought this was a soft toy !!! I want one toohaha she's EXTREMELY naughty.... Looks are deceiving. When I first saw her I thought she was fake too... until she moved..

Eh i not sure leh i think it's either ppl rushing them to complete their house b4 CNY or cos alot of projects are delayed due to the ghost month so after ghost month alot of projects will resume together with new projectsmm Probably. Should be the 7th month clog ba.
Hi pet!Eh just a word of warning that uncle is very good at delaying people's reno now!
If you wanna get him to do, you may have to be quite patient!
As in 1 month work may take 3 months!!!
Trev
haha trust me I know. Moreover I'm not rushing him... so it'll be worse.

Hi pinkpetter, I think they're quite good. No problems so far. My sales person is Zen Tan and he was down to earth and not those "big words" salesman. He was clear and upfront on the sales and details on the types of insulation, copper wires and pipes used and he actually wrote it all clearly down on the invoice. For the 1st visit to lay the trunking, he requested that the owner, technician and my contractor be around to discuss the details on how to lay. Only when I was ok then the technician go about doing it. The 2nd appointment to install the equipment went through quite well too.I chose Creation Air for 3 factors namely: (1) Sales person attitude and comfort level (we were comfortable with Zen overall); (2) Price (one of the cheapest if not cheapest); and (3) the 8 years workmanship warranty (if they dare to give 8 years, it means they are confident of their workmanship and ability). After the installation and sending back the warranty card to Creation Air, they will mail you a warranty card.
I hope my experience is useful for you.
thank you thank you... I feel happier knowing that you had a good experience. I too signed up for the price and the workmanship warranty. I liked the guy I talked to also... Mr Low I believe. So we chose them for the same reasons. I'm glad. Will update how they fared for me!

You are clearly an expert at this.. hehe.. Yes, the new bedroom will be the master bedroom cos I'm greedy enough to want a WIW.Well, we first intended to join two bedrooms and have a WIW and study quite similar to what you have suggested... But we need 3 double bedrooms Will have guests quite frequently ... Also the TV feature wall as per your diagram will be mounted on the existing beam?? is that possible - to drill into a beam?
As for the shoe cabinet - it will be the bottom row along the entire length of the WIW - I am sure I will run out of space for the shoe storage, then I will probably add a second row for shoes...
Upon my calculation, there is 11feet from the window in the living room to the TV feature wall - would that be cramped?
oh i dun mean for the feature to be drilled onto the beam but to be self supported by extending from ceiling to floor.
hehe ahhh ok. so my layout cannot wor. then stick to yours ba. 11feet is a bit cramped. No wide sofas for you and smaller coffee tables. Actually your layout is ok... just two points.. one was the one I pointed out earlier.. the other is that people will walk past the screen.. irritating the ones watching TV. haha My personal peeve.
But otherwise.. if you need 3 rooms then your layout will probably work. MBR no bath leh... mm I'll think about it... MBR no bath a bit inconvenient?

mm kaleidoscope. I've been MIA a while... work's been drowning me out. haha But happy to come in just in time to see your house get started.
Your idea of moving the bedroom to the back is a good one... But ...In your drawing, the bedroom 3 protrudes out quite a bit taking up space in your living. Thus, this might lead to your house having a more cramped feeling as there'll be a wall right in front of the main door. Judging by the size of the bedroom 3 I reckon you are having it as the master? Then the purpose of the other two rooms would be? hehe
Can I play with your layout a bit?
I was thinking... have a feature where the beam is.. the feature should be able to mount your TV and it should be a bit see-through... either made of vertical beams or glass/hard plastic. Behind the TV there'll be space between your feature and the wall so you can have some storage there. I guess then it wouldn't be so cramped. But ... I wondering where the shoe cabinet will be... mm

We only choose this WC at very last min cos it was just being put on as package sale, but a bit more pricy tho. guess lucky for me, even the delivery man made 3 trips to my site without complain cos I a bit fussy. but so far, after sales service had been very satisfactory.abt 2 months ago, my mums place bought a new tap from them, but found to be leaking, they sent a plumber to come and check it out, repaired it completely, promised to change a new tap if still found to be leaking. All this even tho it was only a single sale of $30 tap. Thus we decided to buy all items there.
Uncle Soon promised me 10 Nov......... to Hand over.....now is 25 Oct.... Me not very optimistic....
Wah... seems like good service. I guess that's really good luck for you then. I probably met a part timer that day I guess. mmm rush him a bit. 2 weeks to go so it should be ok. He rushed a lot of things for me in 5 days. You sms him every day? So sorry but I will also be bugging him for some things so might have to fight for one worker...
-
hahaha... so torn between that!practicality vs aesthetics... it's always a problem. Think it through ba.
-
Mickey... I've been MIA and I didn't see your design!! It's fantastic! omg.. can't wait to see the end product
-
I agree with you totally. I was abt to type a reply like what u have suggested! Haha.YAY I'm not alone. So Jessy you can consider.
-
mm honestly? I wun. I agree with you la.. see through is a nice thing to do. But you were mentioning that you don't intend to stay for very long? Most people will not go for see through. So if you put see through.. then your potential buyers will factor in the costs of rebuilding the walls of the toilet... heh. *poor people like me will do that la* So that can be a minus when you're trying to sell.
But of course if you're going to stay for longer... go ahead! haha Sexy...
