  1. My house was done by WSL a few years back and i refused to pay the last 5% of the contract price because they are unwilling to rectify all the defects. My solid surface was scratched even before i move in and 3 big tiles in my toilet cracked (its not small scratches or cracks, its big and obvious!). They even have the cheek to tell me that they cant do anything. Like what was mentioned, their sales talk is very impressive but once you sign the contract, everything goes downhill. If you insist to use them, make sure every single item is documented.
  2. Thanks so much. It seems like reconstruction and new erection are pretty similar. In any case, who will decide if its a reconstruction or new erection? My architect told me that the soil in my place is quite hard and could probably do with footing. In that case, it do sound abit like reconstruction. Reason that i am asking is because i would like to do away with the need to build a bombshelter which i feel is totally unnecesary.
  3. Sorry, may i know whats the difference between new erection and reconstruction? i thought both are start from scratch?
  4. Hi AnneY, I have just bought a 2000 sqf landed and have gotten a childhood friend who is an architect to come up woth the design and the full spec. I was advised that a tender is more expensive than a design and build process whereby he will come up with a design and we get contractors to quote on that basis. Any thoughts on this? Also, may i have the name of your builder?
