  1. Hi

I'm trying to install a digital antenna to my new LG TV. Back of TV looks like first pic. The antenna connection looks however like the second pic.

I got a connector that looks like the 3rd pic and 4th pic, and connected as shown in 5th pic, but the TV cant detect any signals? Pls help? Have i got the right connector?

Both model CISA locks, ie with or without the red unlock button are all rain proof. All material inside the cover are either stainless or galvanized alloy.  No issues with rust. As an added protection, I self DIY and applied a coat of marine grease on all metal parts.
Depending on how you going to electrically link up your lock to an intercom system or just purely a Push To Open button, you will need a power supply of 12VAC with at least 5A to trigger. Hope this helps.

Hi, can I check whether the CISA and VIRO lock allows you to unlock by key from outside the house too? Seems useful to do so but seems like many people is ok to just have key to u lock from inside the house.

Tell your contractor that you are going to mount a ceiling fan and you need to confirm the exact position where the fan is going to be installed. Your contractor should then weld another piece of beam onto the main metal roof’s beams and then install the studs or bracket for mounting the fan. You CANNOT mount the fan onto the plasterboard ceiling or frame for false ceiling as this will not be able to take the lid and vibrations from the fan.

Referring on my photo. Circled in yellow are the main steel beams/purlins for the roof. Circled in red is the additional beam where the studs for the fan is secured to. One stud can be seen in the middle of the photo as the other one is blocked from view by the wiring conduit.

Thanks, Snoozee. Very helpful pic. Does this allow you to change ceiling fans in future? The studs would be buried high up inside false ceiling?

  4. Hmmm... I have the problem of gate intercom panel facing direct afternoon sun. No other location to install it. Want to check with you guys:

    (1) Many of the gate intercom units seem to be plastic, which i fear will not last. Anyone encountered any problems before?

    (2) Also,  face recognition may not work in the glare - so i ruled this out. How about fingerprint scanner and the video lens of the unit - any issue under direct afternoon sun?

I don’t think anyone will have this button installed just inside near the gate. If any, it should be installed inside the house. Mine came with the button but I didn’t install. I just use my intercom monitor to do the remote unlock

Is this red button same as the “break glass for emergency” box?

Also, I have seen side gates with the intercom panel and a separate panel for PIN/ finger print access- seems to be running two systems. Any intercom panel that also incorporates access control, fingerprint, PIN, card access? Trying to reduce to one panel at the side gate. Closest I found is Hikvision which has intercom, access control plus card reader, but no PIN or fingerprint…

fans are normally connected to the main board using removable connectors. If you die die don't want to hear any fan sound then just disconnect the fan connector. Of cos you risk overheating of the device in the long run depending on which fan(s) you disconnect. I believe some NVR will have fan to provide for overall ventilation and some might also have fan to cool down the main chip on the main board.

Again if you are keeping your NVR in an enclosed area, why be so bothered about the sound from the fan. It's not as if the fan is generating sounds which are as loud as a busy highway or MRT running on the tracks.

I'm thinking of disconnecting the fan, then attach a silent fan in the cabinet. Like some of those used to cool laptops/ PCs.

Separately, would you know if it is easy to move electric sockets? Helping a friend with some renovation of a room but cos the bed and bedside table will be shifted, he is thinking of moving the electric sockets. My guess is that if it is along the same wall, probably possible to hack a bit of the wall and hide the wires to connect to original socket. But if it is not on the same wall, maybe not possible ... Any thoughts? Even on same wall, is it possible to put in two new sockets when originally there was only one?

Depends on your NVR model. Mine allows me to view the footage from a mobile app. But more search functionality when viewed directly from the NVR via monitor

One question on viewing CCTV on mobile apps. Is it possible to view both POE CCTVs and wifi CCTVs (which i may have a couple placed in the house) within the same app?

I'm thinking of getting a 24 port switch but just in case i want to add more CCTVs and my switch ports are maxed out, i'm thinking i will add wifi CCTVs instead. But i would prefer to view all CCTVs (wifi and POE) within the same app.

Actually, if this works, i can also reduce the number of LANs to run/ hide in the ceiling ... i could just change all indoor CCTVs to wifi ones.
