  2. Hi Forumers

    I've got a tight budget :(

Looking to revamp my old suspended tv console left my previous owner..

Has anybdy seen or done 1 which is suspendg above tv?

Need to do a simple design by 5ft long..Any recommendation of gd quality carpenters who dun charge skyhigh price?

    TIA :P

  3. First, you want customised altar and itz permanently against the wall or customised altar but you can moved it when you shift hse next time and etc??

For the first option, any carpenter can do for you but if you want "feng shui" measurement, meaning the height and etc, you can approach shops opp Fu Lu Shou Complex @ Rochor. They can provide you FOC...

Then you tell the carpenter what to do, they also have the "Feng Shui Chi" or ruler..

For the 2nd, @ the same stretch, there are a few shops that does customised altar that suits to your layout..

Or any furniture shops also sell altar, some place the pictures, dimensions and prices on a cardboard..

    :)

hey thks porkypig, will go checkitout :yamseng:

  4. Thanks TYM for the suggestion. I will check it out this weekend.

I current sofa is leather and i bought from Sea Horse for $800: 3 seater n one lounge (L shape). The sales man told me it's genuine leather. I thought it was a good deal. But it's only 2 yrs only now and it's all cracked up and the layers are peeling.

We don't have kids at home. From the peel, I can tell that it's definitely not full genuine leather. Got conned by the salesperson... Like some say, you get what you paid for.

So this time we increased our budget, really want to research and make sure we are not conned again. I can definitely tell u, it's impossible to get genuine full leather sofa for 1K. If u can get, that must be bycast leather or PU (synthetic leather). U can only get a recliner maybe... that's too nowadays difficult to find one under 1K.

We reccee a few shops yesterday. Went to Castilla, full leather 5 seater (4 of them is recliner), high back, inclusive of delivery + gst + leather cleaner kit , was quoted $4200. It was a good deal but it wasn't so soft and comfy to sit it. Also the recliner mechanism isn't so smooth.

Checked out Cellini, full leather, 5 seater (4 of them recliner), high back , inclusive of gst+deliver+ leather cleaner kit = $3670. The leather was comfy n soft, recliner mechanism was smooth too. without recliner, cheapest we could find at both places were around $2900+.

We gonna check out the rest of the suggested places this weekend. I think my 3K budget also not enough, must top up a big more :(

i think leather easier to maintain, just need to wipe with a plain wet cloth once a week to remove the dust or dust off with feather duster. Once every few months just apply leather kit.

Fabric is cheaper but need to really take care from spills, dust can set in, must air the cushion in the sun at least once a month to make sure no smell, was cushion cover... just thinking of the work makes me tired... i don't think i have the time lor...

    hi

we bought n use our lorenzo geniune leather sofa for 9 yrs n the leather is as gd, tho we seldom polish. hwevr, a few of the stainless steel legs were broken during hse movg even b4 the sofa left our hse... dunno who's fault.. :dunno: mayb its the wear n tear, bt consider quite lasting oredi for 9 yrs.. leathers are truly warmer n we need 2 'on' the ceiling fan wenever we sat on the sofa.

nw for our new home, we'v chosen micro-fibre sofa (nt removable) instead cos hope it wnt be as warm n sticky wen we'r on our shorts or singlets :yamseng: heard micro-fibre is easier to maintain than other fabric.. it's water resistant. cost $500 as we dun intend 2 use it for a very long time, compared to lorenzo at $2k+.

dpnds on ur budget n lifestyle oso.. whthr u lookg at long or short term.. i still think no need to spend so much on sofa.. it's juz my opinion tho.. :D

  5. Should have read the forum before I visit their show room at Payar Lebar last week. :(

Was "pressured" into purchasing a dining table.. $899. Regretted not look around first. :bangwall:

    1) Their staff very hard selling.. follow u up & down. I know u need customer service.. but this is nuisance. 8|

    2) Keep saying sales over (original price $1,599) but since no instruction from boss, will continue to sell at sales price of $899.. advised me to place deposit , if not tomowwo no more discount..etc.

    3) Keep saying can't get better besign at that price elsewhere.

Being naive, place deposit.. but regretted once walk out of showroom..

Then went other furniture showrooms and found better designs, quality at same price.

Am prepared to forfeit the deposit with them. Take it as tuition fee.

May be they do the same with furniture on sale here? :dunno::notti:

hmm.. dis sounds like coming fm the salesmen of audio hse. They'll all the same. No decent ones. I would nvr go bk there again. Another bad sales award goes to best denki at junction8.

oh dear! saw dis discussion only aftr we've paid for our 5pcs dining set @ $699 & sofa $499 dis aftn at amk outlet. pray hard dat nthg bad will happen, true dat the staff thr really irritating & cnt see dat we were busy with our baby & kept toking non-stop n bringg us to see dis & dat, until i got pissed off n say: "can you wait???" hwever, dis guy was later quite genuine n apologetic.. later fm his namecard we realised dat he's (justin) the snr sales consultant.

  6. A word of caution: "DON'T EVER CONSIDER WINDOW IMAGE". Many yrs ago, we paid a deposit at causeway pt outlet to make curtains for the whole hse but due to budget constrain, decided to tailormade only the master bedrm. They dun allow us to & ended up charging us $700 just for day&nite curtains for our room!! :bangwall:

  7. i have bidets in both toilets, good for washing toilets, wash legs when come home from outside...guest can wash their legs too. It is good to give the toilet a spray after use..incase mis-aim in the middle of the nite..hehe...for men lah..

:jawdrop: Haha! I dun think that sounds like bidet, you must be referring to the spray. Bidet is 2 tiny sprays attached to wc when turn the right knob, cannot be detached to wash legs

  8. hehe so far i never get piles b4 *touch wood*

i think i still go for my normal way lor

    Hi

I've bought a bidet cost mi almost $100. Bought that time cos thot of maintaining personal hygiene, plus I got some bacterial infection & UTI during my 2nd pregnancy. The shop is at french road. There'r a few types, some cum wif wc cover & some with the wc. Purpose is to clean the internal of any residues which might subsequently cause cancer, thats what the boss told us. The water (can be hot or normal temp) will shoot directly into anus & another switch to clean the front. No regrets buying :good:
