  1. Hello,

I'm trying to look for a built-in wine chiller and place under the counter top.

    Capacity around 25 bottles.

Some in the market are semi-conductor cooling which is not suitable to use in Singapore due to high ambient temperature.

    Compressor type should be used.

Most I can find are freestanding type which is not suitable for built-in purpose (poor ventilation)

Those buit-in type I can find are just too wide to fit.

This photo here shows something I'm looking for, slim and just nice to fit, and you can see vents at the bottom.

Does anyone have this at home or knows where I can source locally?

there are ariston, de dietrich, bosch and miele built in wine chillers...but they all cost a bomb - $2500 and above

  2. I'm wondering how many of you had signed an OTP of a resale flat last week?

I think life has just thrown me a curve ball, as I literally signed on the 30th.. Should I forgo the $1k, and wait for the market to "cool", as changes should be drastic within the next 6 months with people needing to let go of their property, or would prices and COV remain pretty stable for the next year?

    What to do!

forgo the 1k...and tell the seller immediately. Seller sure panic. Then ask for lower COV and then resign again. Market for HDB will drop. Definitely lower COVs in the next 6 mths.

  3. Hi,

I'm new to landed property, hope to get some advice!

For houses with high ceiling and lots of high window panels, how do you all manage to clean all the way up? I think can't reach that high with ladder.

Also, do you engage someone to clean the facade of the house, and how often?

Aside of this, do you know of any companies that can add perspex panels along staircase etc as barriers for child-proofing?

Will a house look odd with windows all grilled up? I need to child proof all windows but I'm thinking it sort of spoils the whole 'look'.

Do you have any solution to the mosquito problem that landed housing usually has? Besides, doing up netting for all windows.. has any repellant worked for you?

    Grateful for any pointers!

whatever windows that out of reach i don't clean. Usually if they are out of reach, they are out of sight and exposed to elements, which means that you would be wasting time cleaning them.

U can try the 'invisible' grille solution - several strands of wire across windows in lieu of the iron grilles.

mosquitoes will get in no matter what you do. I put patches and spray my kids every day just in case.

  4. Bros, loyalty pays. I love UOB, but they keep forgeting me. Wee family needs to strengthen their PR with customers. I've written f/b but the paper kena as if being thrown into ocean. DBS quite hungry also, keep calling me up to offer this & that. I just fall in love with local banks, especially UOB. Don't say u don't know: I ever 1 time shouted to an UOB officer, in front of so many ppl, really lost my temper & patience, even threathen to close all accounts with them immediately.

For banks, you can speak louder when they see you have so many accounts with them. of course not those 1 account with $1 types.

Worrior, give him a past years sibor rate picture better, so can make wiser move. I've shared before I wanted cheap, wife wanted safe, ended up taken "fixed"- anyway still lower than HDB's "concessionary" loan @2.6%. Banks can offer as low as 1.5% without lockin. But Aust, China, Malays, Thailand already "up" their interest quite recently, be careful.

yup...agree with u. Shout, scream and throw temper - it saves lots of $$$. Citibank tolerates me. Their PR and customer service is top notch. Managed to secure a 0.5% +3mth SIBOR, 0.6% +3mth SIBOR and 0.7% + 3mth SIBOR even after the promo expired. Financed three properties thru them and everytime i had to kao-peh to escape the breakage fee from one property to another...must push them a bit.

I love AMEX as well...really good deals and customer service.

  5. My electrician went to install the switches using MK even I had request for Clipsal switches.

I ask him to change to clipsal.

    He bring in Schneider switch.

When I ask him, why it is not Clipsal. He say Schenider has bought over by Clipsal. All the same.

    Are they the same?

yes - it is now known as schneider electric

  6. Recommended by staff in best, two models from Ariston, AGXGL109 and AGXGF129EX, both are 9kg. made in Italy.

Any one can give some idea about these two? Compare to Bosch 8kg models, which is more recommended?

I don't really care about whether 8kg or 9kg. For me, 8kg is good enough leh. The price of these two brands are about the same, and the staff said Ariston is a good buy.

given up on using ariston washers and dryers...they don't last beyond 3 yrs.
