There's houses with similar screens in pics. My ID says she knows where to find, but maintenance-wise... Easy to trap dust and such arh. But nice though.

Aircon from Gain City Furniture - MBR bed from St. Louis (yes yes, I know their reviews, but my sofa from them too yrs back and quite ok, and hv been eyeing that particular bedframe some time already. ) - Coffee table and dining set from S&C in Ang Mo Kio. Highly recommend this shop if you know what you're looking for. Electricals from here and there.

Damages for furniture, electrical appliances, aircon and lights already S$15k. Any more and we wouldn't have $$ to pay...

Hi Joho, great to have settled on a contractor. Now is wait and see lor. I didn't really hold much hope for design, since we not going for those high-end IDs, and like you I prefer simple classic lines. So to me contractor or ID, main consideration is workmanship and quote. Design we can always suggest to them. Once you get your keys, things will start going pretty fast, so have you shop for sanitary and kitchen, look at lights and such yet? Buy the corridor from HBD lor, then can do already. I also whole hse arh, so same as you lor. Tiling works started today, so tmr going to see see look look.

We're looking at this package, end up their quote so gd we took the whole hse package. But tell u their carpentry design avg hor, if you looking for the WOW factor...

Hi Pete, yah, she told us 2 weeks for the 3D drawings also. Signed last week. You signed already or still shopping around? pbtgal, our 2nd appt coming up, so expecting to start hacking this mth end, finish by Apr. Like I said, she'll have to chop chop for us.

Hi ptbgal, my new place's in Jurong East, where's yours? Yah, Lynn was the most prompt of the IDs I've contacted, hence she got our business since she also met our budget. Another ID quote was on par with her's, but by the time I've received it, Lynn has already revised her quote for us twice, and brought us down to see a flat to view their workmanship. Now to see how's her response now that we've signed. We're pushing to move in in May, so we're really going to be pushing the schedule.

Looks like they really have a lot of staff running around. That time I went to their office all available working space was occupied. Good business. Think more impt is you going down and speaking with the ID see if you 'click'. Else not matter how good the reviews were, no help to you at all. pbtgal, agree with you. Told my ID to go ahead with homo tiles. We don't have budget for granite anyway, initially wasn't even wanting to hack whole house. Thanks for the replies!

Hi applefreak, I thought so too. So quite shocked when my ID say homo tiles may be scratched... Got see those tiles in shopping centres scratched, but should be due to moving heavy loads across them. I've got cats, not tigers ok. But timber flooring will scratch, although is faint marks. My current house timber floor... but can sand & revarnish. If laminate then no help already.

Hi, like to check with fellow forummers who have pets and homogenous floor tiles. Will the floor tiles be scratched by your pets movement over it? I have cats. My ID is concerned that the homo tiles will be scratched as she has colleague with cat and said his homo tiles after 2 yrs already show scratch marks. My current house kitchen original HDB ceramic floor tiles no problem leh. Homo tiles so not scratch-resistant? Pet-owners may have to rule out timber and laminate flooring, but even tiles? Can't expect us all to do granite or marble right? Any advise highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi PinkyX, initially thought so too. But after getting individual quotes from contractors and comparing to ID quotes, is around the same. Did you really get a lot of difference between the 2 types of quotes?

No lah, order liao bo bian lor. A bit more ex at S* L*ouis plus GST. At least saved on the coffee table and dining. Most of the things you can see at F*niture Cl*b and Mr Dec* at IMM can see in the S&C catalogs also. Just most appear in catalogs photos don't look that nice. So if you know what you looking for you will know it's the item. Like pinkpetter said, if you got photo or pic, show to them they can try to help you find. My friend ever shown them a dining set from M*ndi and they helped sourced for them.

Hi all, have seen some pics of room dividers/screens similar to those shown in this website. Or like in this picture: Anybody knows where to get these or something similar in Singapore? Have seen something similar in photos in local interior design magazines, so must be available somewhere?

*Ahem* zerochristy, you know the S* L*uis shop in IMM (outside Daiso)? They also have shop along Sungei Kadut. The bedframes you see there S&C also can get for you. I ordered from them already then go S&C. It's the same thing cos both shops get from same factory.

Agree with applefreak, cannot see price alone. Most impt is workmanship, then design and whether you get along with the in-charge (i.e. ID or contractor). Joho, you so good only need to do carpentry, no need wet works? If so within 20k definitely more than enough, like doing condo. Have PM you contacts of a company that does carpentry & cabinetry works only. You can check them out.
