  1. helo!

lucky for you the boss of the id company managed to redeem his company name and did a nice nice reno for u!

btw i like your tv feature wall and the tv console! but where is the wallpaper in this pic ah? and also, your tv console, how is it being opened? slide one or tic tac pull down door? can i please request for a clearer pic of the console so dat i can show my contractor too? thankew loads! :P

    Hello Amrasenlya,

the wall paper is the white portion where the TV is being mounted onto.

as for the tv drawers, it's a pull out drawers which should be common.. :)

  2. Finally! The reno and rectifications are done! left with painting to find and plants to buy... Any recommendation for modern painting/deco?

I'm glad that the boss of Plus Interior managed the rectifications. Really very accommodating! for instance, he went an extra mile just to get the side cover protection for my wallpaper to avoid any peeling in future. The steel was initially too thick and hence, he had to go back to the shop to get a thinner steel cover..

Anyway, Jaxxx Ng has left the company (that's what I heard), if anyone who plans/hears his name in another company or his own company, DO NOT USE JAXXX NG SERVICES!

Here's part of the living room with blue lights! didn't take photo on the other side of the living room

  3. I'll share my experience when my house is handovered from my "ID" (maybe another 2 weeks time). At least your ID's boss was willing to retify the mistake done by the ID. In my case, the site co-ordinator (supposed to be an ID) made mistake (think he knew what I want but he did it on purpose to save money), I contacted the boss and he straight away ask me to refer every thing listed in the contract, if still not happy, he'll settle every thing in court.

Noticed that there's no point discussing with them so I just accepted it (with no choice) and learnt this lesson. Jus read a post by weileong, Eight Signs Of A Good Contractor, all the first 7 signs of bad contractors are related to my ID company. The last one, signing of contract, the company used it to threaten me.

Do you feel better now? :)

    hi IceBlue,

saw your blog and I'm sorry to hear about your 'ID'. hope this painful experience for you will be over soon. However, your cupboards look gd.. :)

  4. Hi,

During my reno search, most of the renovator (contractors) quote around $180 to $250 pft for wardrobe. And the laminate finish is only for the exterior with white pvc for the interiors. There's another kind of brown pvc kind of interior finish but slightly more expensive.

The difference between Ikea one is, the wood used for carpentry on the wardrobe. Most of the contractors quoted for solid plywood as the material for wood. For Ikea, my previous understanding is they used compressed wood.

My old ikea coffee table was made of compressed wood and circles of molds grew out from underneath it within months of using. We didnt notice it as we didnt really look under the table. But the molds will dropped off to the ground as powder stuff. Its only when we noticed the floor always having white powdery stuff that we went around to check. The moment we look under the table, both of us got a shock! Many many circle of molds under the table. Very scary, since then I don't dare to buy ikea wood stuff.

    Hi Rasp,

so the price which my ID quote is ok? or still exp?

  5. bro i feel your pain...our ID is the same....your list looks like the same types of complaints we have for our own place...our ID is never on site to supervise and we wonder time and time again what is he for when we begin to directly engage his contractors and start to do up schedules for him instead....sigh.....in the end did u get him to rectify all the flaws ?

    Hi JandG,

OMG... you mean your ID is also Jamxx? or your ID is someone else in Plus Interior?

  6. Thanks New! :D Glad you like it too.

ya ya my meow meow do look like mini lion king. You not scare they bite you meh if you were to cuddle them? lol Here are 2 more pics of them, very cute...

    Cats02.jpg

OMG! your cats are so cute! sometimes, i wonder if my dog is a cat in disguise as she has cat's habits...

  7. :o 6ft wardrobe for $1320? That's $220 pfr.

If you want white PVC, might as well buy from Ikea :) $800 for L2100mm wardrobe.

    Hi Ossify,

since the reno is already completed leaving with the last 20% payment and an unconfirmed discount to be provided by the boss, would you have any other recommendations based on the above feedback? :)

  8. hello lovely people, we have moved in for about 2 weeks, and living ourselves is no joke - housework, travelling back to oldies' places is already enough to wear us out... and we still have to live with all the imperfections and problems left by the renovations, with our ID MIA. oh well, despite all the headaches and troubles he has caused us, life still goes on :) a few black sheep in our lives serve to help us learn what to look out for in future... will post a review some time later; let's focus on the happier stuff first.

    Hi Beany,

I totally understand how you feel when you mentioned 'living ourselves is no joke - housework, travelling back to oldies' places is already enough to wear us out... and we still have to live with all the imperfections and problems left by the renovations, with our ID MIA. oh well, despite all the headaches and troubles he has caused us, life still goes on :) a few black sheep in our lives serve to help us learn what to look out for in future... '

Yes, life goes on but we have become wiser with the experiences gained during the renovation. I guess it's not just knowledge we've gotten on carpentry material, 3D perspective, blah blah blah but I guess we've also gain more experiences on communication skill, EQ, ID/people management... :)

It will soon be over and your place looks gd.... :)

  9. your place looks nice and posh! nice transformation u have there.... looks prefect fm the surface; if u didn't highlight those problems u had @ the beg of ur blog, wouldn't have ever realised anything amiss.

is ur dog @ the corner of the dining room pic? he looks like a carpet :P

    Thanks Beany!

most of the stuff have been rectified. left with a couple more to go!

as for my dog, yes she's at the corner of the dining room pic. I should take her next to our white carpet in the room while she's slping (her back on the floor with 4 legs hanging in the air..Lol) coz we can't differentiate which is carpet and and which is her... kekekeke :P

  10. hi,

i guess the lucky thig is no one in hurt...but that already over....hope to see some nice nice pic of yr plc...:P

yeap! It's lucky that no one was hurt and I hope that it doesn't happen again in someone else's reno... it's not worth getting hurt at the expense of someone else's blunder

Everyone is asking me to sue the company... haiz....another tiring process...:(

  11. I'm glad that the renovation is completed with some rectifications needed and buying of deco stuff such as carpet, paintings, etc

We liaise directly with the boss for Plus Interior. Overall experience was pretty good. He is accommodating, rectified those issues that the ID (his employee) refused to do.

However, we are still disappointed with Plus Interior as the reno experience totally tired us out

    Still Disappointed

    - ID (Jaxxx) didn't connect the cooker gas pipe to the main gas pipe which can be very fatal (can cause an explosion). Can you image what will happen if we lighted the cooker with an unconnected gas pipe with gas leakage into our cabinet!!!!

    - here's what happened, we decided to cook one evening and switched on the main gas switch. However, we were very curious as to why the meter keep running even though we didn't switch on the cooker. Hence, we thought that the main gas switch may have leaked and decided to call Citygas. The Citygas person came down shortly to check (thank goodness) and told us that our designer made a major mistake by not calling Citygas to switch off the gas prior renovation. To think that he wanted to save $50 by not calling Citygas but the consequences are undeniably fatal!

    -Water tank dropped!

-shortly after the gas incident, the water tank dropped and was barely supported by the water pipe and the bi-fold door... OMG.. I'm totally speechless on this!

Less than 2 weeks that I've moved in and the carpentry works seem to be falling apart with the magnet connector for the shoe cabinet falling off!

    Contented

    - Plus Interior Boss accommodating

    - Very happy with the services and workmanship that we outsourced: the wall paper, gate, door, air-con, curtain company :) absolutely went smoothly!

    will post the photos tonight

  12. erm.. how much was the cost per ft for the white pvc WIW. btw... why use white pvc? by default..carpentery woods are white already ma. find a discreet corner to scrap see if there is another white pvc layer? did he amend the quotation in black & white?. if not.. i am sure the boss will open the cheque as laminate covering+carpentery for the carpenters. while the bugger pockets the diff from the carpenters. alot of verbal agreement after work starts is where they juice up themselves secretly.

Hi, sorry for the late reply as I was really biz with moving house, purchasing stuff, etc. I'm not sure how much it cost per ft but it's L1800mm for $1320

  13. My hubby and I met up with the boss and his lady partner yesterday.

The overall experience was good. They were very accommodating with our request on the rectifications to be done. However, we can't judge or confirm whether they will deliver what they have promised till the final lap of the reno works.

Finally, I can rest well for the next couple of days...

Meanwhile, my granite kitchen top is up. Waiting for the glass backing to be done...

  14. icic.... thanks :)

heartya... uhmm i never have my final copy of quote leh... if u read enough abt uncle ah soon hor you will realise this is the norm :x so ahhh i seriously do not know how much is the cost of the wardrobe :P

the internal is not laminate, it is something that is thinner than the usual laminate and got quite a few colours to choose from, mostly the woody kinda colours in different shade.

  15. Hi Hi,

You've got a nice WIW ... May I ask how much it is? and is the internal laminate finishing?

ok better update on my place before my T-Blog become a chat site. Here comes my 1st installment of live in pics. Today will just be MBR and Kitchen. boys room/living/access area in next installment which will happen dunno when lah.. :P probably when i got mood to snap pictures hehehe

MBR toilet glass door and wardrobe

    IMG_0963.jpg

Initially I choose another colour for my wardrobe door but it was translucent and a little see through which I dun like cos hor I wanna change in the wardrobe mah! The evil me insisted ah wei to paste something at the back so that the wardrobe won't be translucent... I was advised against it cos he told me if he paste anything at the back it will look patchy from the front... stubborn me insist... and the effect came out really yucky and patchy.... Ah wei was gracious to change both doors for me without charging me extra (maybe he charged it to uncle ?? :x I dun wanna know :P). The current colour is the closest colour to brown that is not translucent. A comparison pic between the before and after :

For KPOS who wonder how the mess inside the wardrobe looks like, it is as below :

Pop over to your T-blog and I noticed that you've got a nice WIW :D ... May I ask how much it is? and is the internal laminate?

  17. huh?? $400+ for both lights??? so cheap ahh?? the long long one is nice! but my house ahh ceiling ht cannot accomodate such ht also my ah lao forbid fanciful lights, he is always concern about cleaning issues..

hrmm... inclusive of both meaning that for the long light with crystal balls (second one) the blubs are either halogen lights or LED and with the crystals... hence, light blubs + crystal = $400+ ;)

but the 1st one is more than $500 i.e. crystals with LED + halogen lights
