Lights ! Was walking all over finding the lights we need. Not very easy to please my Lady.... we been walking in and out and finally settled in at Lights.com.sg Best price from the rest indeed as they promised. total damage $1.7k Hope their after sales service will be good as well. Rooms Nothing fanciful. Just plain practical lights for all 3 rooms. Kitchen Big 1 will be kitchen and the small 1 is for the washing area. slightly different from what we ordered. Lets see..... Been runing all over Balestier road, Geylang looking for lights and kitchen/toilet stuffs. Not really easy finalizing after been checking all the prices ! finally settled with Heritage in Geylang for kitchen/toilet accessories. ( they having 40% stoerwide so have great prices ) Not really facinated by the sales person as he keep pushing Hobz stove + hood which I wanted fujioh. Also keep pushing me Ferroli 30L storage heater which I can find any reviews in the forum on it. Keep saying this brand is good, eurpoean brand, use lesser watts then joven, all keep heat for 24hrs and joven only can last 8hrs. Think i will ask him to change back to Joven 35L to ease me mind for a brand i dont even know. Common floor and wall tiles MBR toilet Wall tiles These 2 are wall tiles. Black is the shower area tiles. Floor tiles will be using common toliet floor tiles which is the darker grey pc. Well as long the Lady in the house is happy with it. I guess i'm quite ok with them. Hope these tiles do look good once up !

Hmmm will consider having dish rack on the other side of cabinet mount on wall. Decide to forgo the glass cabinet totally hehehe Well the tiles..... All changed again -_- We went Hasfary and i let her choose all the tiles. Update on my later posts.

Quite surprise some contractors suggested that. Coz i try asking to a few to do it but non dare to. As said, HDB do not allow conceal wirings. Even if new flat come with conceal wirings, if addtional wiring is needed, only can do case mount wirings. Most contractors are reluctant to do coz they might be fined if HDB found out about it.

Rest of Wall tiles will be light beige wall tiles with horizontal lines. Floor tiles will be textured darker beige tiles with black speckles. However my wife dont really fancy that. She kinda prefer black n white toilet.

Ok now is tiles time ! Currently pre fixing these these selection. My Id suggest the top cabinet will be sliding to solve the problem. I'm still very concern on maintenance wise actually. Thought thinking of taking it out, it kind leave a big space where i duno what to do with it. A hanging dish rack ? But hang all the way from ceiling ? I heard that from 1 of the ID who comment not feasible putting wardrobe so close to the window. Thus that stuck me hard and we brainstorm a solution out with having a ledge over to widen the distance of the window and wardrobe. Any location i can take a look of the dish rack? I'm actually quite concern to hang all the way down will it look weird or stable ornot. Ahahaha ! i wish i can and i dont need pay so much $$$ My ID came out with the concept after i gave her my preference of the layout. I'm hoping the Wardrobe will be big. But maybe only 7ft due to space constrain Unless i move it close to the window but then.... block my ventilation haizzz.... The wood wood stuff is not my preference. My ID seems to like wood grain alot thus propose the idea. The doors seems kinda match the feature wall so I quite ok with the designs currently. Have to see the wood before i confirm with my ID on the design.

I agree not only looks nice but will not block the light from kitchen window to dining area. Very good idea and somewhat not very practical leh. The smoke, dust, oil will coat the glass and stainless steel.... After maybe 6mths or longer it might look like a disaster if no frequent maintenece ! That is my major concern as my wife and I um...... Lets say we are not those love to clean type pple -_____-;

But after living in the East for a decade, really like the fresh air here =X I still remembered when i was still dating my wife 7 8yrs ago i kept complaining CCK air had a chicken poo smell :X Oh well now the air is fine though lol. MBR Some ledge and mini dressing area to prevent wardrobe to cover the window. MBR A mini feature wall for tv in MBR. Kitchen I dont really fancy the glass cabinet. Should be very tough to clean next time ! Kitchen 2 Any solution to replace the glass cabinet and not compromising the light/wind to the dining area ?

Yup thats what i thought too ! I saw the owner who roofed her balcony keep complaining to me the mess of the open balcony. After 8yrs she finally can not take it and roof it up. Thanks for your contacts the other day. Was thinking getting Ah soon to take a look at it but after reading he was too busy these days. I gave it a miss

Well so far only 7th have such balcony. which comes to about 4 units in a block. I heard from 1 owner who have her balcony roofed that there was talk on lifts upgrading. But there is no concrete plan yet as very unlikely to have lift on 7th which the big balconies stands. Our balcony will be merge with living room. so pretty much an open space over there right now. My idea is to make it a kids play area with swings and stuffs and my dog slp area hehehe Open kitchen looks very nice but we are worried of cooking the grease and smoke will go all over the hse.

Yah take ur time to slowly see around. Viewing the show flats make alot of difference actually. The finishing and the over layout of the hse will help you make up your mind easier. Currently i finalizing with my ID on a sliding casement door which can be hide inside a full height cabinet. Sounds interesting idea actually so i am looking forward to her proposal. The search for the right ID...... got naggin from my wife that we have not even started anything yet where we already have our hse. So I just got a Home and Decor book and start emailling all the ID firms with my layout. Turn out pretty disasterous ! Received too much response and have to attend alot calls and meet up with various IDs.... I guess about 20+ including relative and friends recommendations. Finally managed to shortlist a few as below BH Design Orangecube Mycenean Living Icon Desizn Inn Living icon Was impressed by Lving icon presenation and their 3D of the kitchen. However the price was really on the high side and their follow up was kinda slow. Till date still haven get to see their showflat. Mycenean Nice layout of ceiling plan. Pricing is still acceptable but the pricing of full rewiring really put me off. Quote me 3.7k for a 4room HDB. Showflat was pretty ok but since it is still in progress, the finishing does not seems done yet. Thus the sight does make me worried if there will be final touch up or this is it. Desizn Inn Friend Bf. Gave the best pricing but sadly have some idea conflict with the ID Since my balcony will be covered, I want to hack the walls to merge with living room. Id keep insist there is a small column together with the balcony wall thus if hack, the cloumn will remain. Solution is having a shoe rack wrap around as a design but i find it too weird for a shoerack in the middle of nowhere. Orangecube Cant deny I am very very tempted to sign them. Was impressed by the showflat even though it is an ongoing proj and not completed. The workmanship finishing was good and so is the design too. Pricing was slightly on the high side but for the workmanship and design can be accepted. BH Design Wife's Cousin's cousin o__O Initially was not very impressed. ID was like immersed in her own world when she start to imagine and suggest how to do up the hse. She could not seem to hear my opinions during her self talking ordeal. Took some time to sort things out with her and met her design manager as well. Was a good discussion and they able to try and accomodate my requirements. Even went consult PE and check with HDB for the problem balcony "column" to try find a solution for it. Turn out the "column" was a stiffener and can be hack ! So yeah.... they got the deal for that good initiative.

Overall the conditions of this flat is still pretty good for its age. (20yr old) Still, almost nothing will stay.... gotta total revamp this place man. The main problem will be the balcony. Even though, it big and squarish... I dont like it expose with no roof. Any 1 can throw litter down or worst prone to burglary. So i have to check out the neighbourhood with smilar flat structure like mine to see if any1 did roofing. Manage to find 1 hehehe ! Had a chat with the lady owner and yes ! She said that can be approved by HDB. Problem 1 solved ! hehehe So i guess its time for getting an ID to redesign my dream home !
