  1. Hey people, was overseas for sometime so did not have an opportunity to go down or do anything. I am really happy that people here are enjoying my recommendation and threads.

And to everyone who had sent me a personal message to thank me for my find, please continue to support this thread and keep it alive. I will be stationed out for sometime so wont be able to reply. Seeing is believing and enjoying the good service is your only way to get to know this shop. Haha.

Heard the shop is expanding and opening another outlet from one threadster who pmed me. Wish the nice boss all the best too.

    Upz my find.

Do give the boss your feedback to help him improve. And emai him at hiaphin@hotmail.com

  2. They actually sell alot of construction materials and stuff. Anyway, the angle iron from Taiwan just arrived yesterday. Per piece at 10 feet long is now only 8 dollars. Can go check it out, minimum is 5 pieces for that price.

Angle iron is actually for making those storeroom racks.

  3. check with alpha metal at AMK where they do supply alum in mill and anodise finishing.

Other good place to consider is Lian Cheong and Teck Cheong.

I know lian cheong is singapore's distributor of aluminium's doubt they will bother with small quantity like for our personal use. I once called them and they say get from Liang huat cause my company didnt order alot at that time.

  4. actually www.homely.com.sg is selling cheaper. a 6 step is 44bucks. which is 4bucks cheaper. its a 150kg one and made in singapore.

Haha. I called the boss and said he is selling too expensive and that homely is selling 44 bucks and his is higher. He said he will bring down the price when the new batch comes in next week. He is willing to sell at 7 dollars a step. Haha. I have helped you all get the best price already. And he corrected me, its 160kg durability not 150kg.

So people now is 7 dollars a step, thanks for the forummer who updated us for the best deals. 6 steps is 42 dollars WITH GST.

    Michael

    8522 2324

You using that for your bed frame izzit?

Furniture makers can, u making the male female joint right. But will be expensive. You can try finding furniture makers.

  6. So what happen?? Did you buy it?? Do this marble and tiles are really awesome to use in flooring??

I'm interested because I also planning to change the flooring of our home.. Thanks for your reply..

    -----------------------

    Concrete Repair

Yes, i bought a few pieces, its normal marble tiles used by contractors during renovation. no worries dude, can purchase from them. next to beauty world shopping centre. i check the name when i drive past tmw and pm you ok?

  7. did you find what you are looking for? and how is their pricing and customer service?

Yes, i have found the tiles i wanted, but didnt go back yet to see the name. They have alot of marble and tiles for floor. Price wise I cant comment, cause I am first time buying it. And service wise, ok loh. the boss there just ask what i want, i pass him a sample, he went to check, say got something similar, ask me go inside to take a look then like that.

  8. What the guy said sound logic..

But I do believe it is possible to do something safe.... may be add a piece of steel sheet (the bigger the better) screwed on to the plywood. Then install standard TV bracket onto the metal sheet... or something like that....

yes. i was thinking of using chengai wood to redo the wall again. then use expansion bolts to fasten on my wall again. then i think should be hard enough. i am trying a balinese charm in my living room. My place has high moisture as its near the sea, so i guess I need to consider that wood will corrode in time.

  9. so must buy hammer drill if need to drill metal, concrete wall , thicker wood?

hammer drill = rotary drill is it?

what minimum Volt & Speed rpm , reliable brand of hammer drill to buy?

    any cordless hammer drills?

    thanks in adv

if you buy the home fix drill will be wasting your money. firstly, rotary drills can contain drill bits up to 22mm, the homefix one is only 10mm and its not a proper rotary one. means alot of wall plugs cannot drill. got many wall plugs very huge, like the lcd type and for punching bag. that one i think about 15mm. i think if you buy a good bosch rotary for 22mm can cost up to 270. those large scale hardware shops selling. I bought the makita version for 240 before.

Get one good drill and you can do alot of diy. hehe. Battery drill got can drill walls one. I think its htachi or something. one piece about 599 at rsonline. for contractors who cannot get hold of power plugs and shipping industry

  10. just received my timber. The dimensions are right and the cutting is good. Great job guys. The circle is of correct dimensions too. You are too humble to say he is using a jigsaw, its really good. Thank you. Will be my number 1 hardware shop from today

    Glad you liked it. Haha.

  11. The best bet is to mount your TV with an approved type TV Wall Bracket. If you want to mount it on a wooden back ground, use extra long screws and heavy duty raw plugs, thus going thru the plywood and anchoring the TV on the wall.

Of course, the plywood must be painted or varnished and screwed on to the wall first

I have just bought a samsung lcd tv 46 inches. I wanted to get them to install on my wooden wall, which I made using plywood. The guy say cannot. he claims that in time, plywood as it is pressed will expand cause of television heat and will be risky. may even drop. anyone had this problem? I have been wondering if he said is true.

  12. Thks but jurong east avenue 1 at which blk?

do you have the full address?

    tyvm :D

Blk 348 jurong east avenue 1, #01-1245. directly opposite chinese garden mrt. Call 65652141. Like shophouses there. Anyway, acrylic is more suitable. will not break. glass is risky. i broke my ocs sword casing when i was moving house. so the uncle recommended I use acrylic. Price difference is very slight between glass and acrylic.

  13. Hey people, i have found a shop selling marble tiles and all kinds of flooring materials you need. You can even bring a sample of your flooring and they can find the closest fit.

They are at the row of shop next to beauty world shopping centre. Forgot to look at the name, i was brought there by a taxi driver when i commented i finding marble. haha. cant believe it. I will find the name and post here again.

Please help if you know the name. I guess everyone will be looking for that one piece of broken floor tile or something. They even sell in pieces, dont need to get a whole box. I know how to drive there now, but dont know the bilding and name. They are next to a clinic called Chiang Kiaw clinic if I didnt remember wrongly.
