  1. I didnt engage them...They came to my hse last sat to quote my study rm only..N it cost $4770.

My hb spent about 1hr+ trying to tell them what he wants..but they always cant catch the idea...even though we draw n show him the pictures

We wanted to have a bookshelves with some display...then they kept drawing a wardrobe...

We said we wanted to put book n displays...then he said inside can have more shelvings....

When hb said we wanted to have a see through glass, they say we can ve a sand blast glass for the wardrobe door.

My hb has to keep saying he doesnt need a wardrobe...After quite sometime, the carpenter drew a design like a kitchen cabinet...saying top can put books, bottom cabinet can put books n toys..then the top can put the display..

Finally I took over n tell them to just COPY the design that I want...N the quote comes up to $4770

Most probably I won't engage him...

think he maybe able to do nice kitchen cabinet (as I received feedbacks from the forummers who PMs me)

but he can't get the idea that we want..even though my hb already draw a nice design for him, top view, 3D view.

So my hb dun want to take the risk plus the quotation price is high

    Hi hazelk,

    Thanks for your info.

I'm also looking for carpenter to build integrated study table with bookcase with glass display and top shelf. I'm also thinking to build wall-shelf in kitchen. I had sent my 3D design to them and got the quotation from them. But I'm also afraid that they don't really get idea.

    Cheers

    Hi hazelk,

Did you engage bengfong reno for carpentry work before?

If yes, what did you ask them to build? How was their carpentry workmanship?

    Cheers,

  3. Just wondering, did u all buy ur toilet accessories from the store recommended by Kelvin? How do u find the range and pricing?

I bought most of my bathroom stuff from the store after I made some comparison with a few bathroom store recommended by forummers and I found the price are very competitive and service is good as well.

I found some leakage on my showroom mixer last month and called Andy. He told me that he was going to call the Crizto guy (my mixer brand is Crizto) to fix that up. If they can't fix it he'll try to exchange 1 to 1. That day was Satuday and on Monday Crizto staff went to my home fixing the mixer. Now so far so good.

But I don't know whether he recommended you the same store as the one that he recommended to me or not :P

  4. Hi Member,

Sorry to hear that you etch the homogenous or Porcelain tiles surface away,

Read the back label before use!

Hydrochloride Acid is bad and damage most surface,

Phosphoric Acid is safe on most tiles except marble, slate. or any calcium based tiles or stone.

Now you can re-polish your Porcelain tiles with Crystal Shine System, it will build a Crystal surface on the tiles & Stain or dirt will not able to penetrate. check out www.renotalk.com for Before & After Pictures

You can Call Donald Toh mobile 96378448

    Best Regards

    T S TAN

    Hi Master,

I tried to contact Donald Toh and he came to check my tiles. He said he can make my tiles brighter with Crystal surface, but the price that he quoted was quite high. May I know how much roughly he quoted you and how big is the area that you re-polish? Do you have any pictures before and after the re-polishing?

    Cheers

  5. Hi Stw9444

I think it depending on the design and laminate. For my display, Kevin's designs have some curve, I choose white laminate with cube bubble bubble kind as recommended by him. And when my hubby checked again this morning, there were many cracks, design flaw, so now must change design and Kevin not in town :bangwall:

Ok, then we change the design....worst is all have curve so all need to change ALL (from my platform bed to study cabinets to display cabinets) ....THEN they told hubby mirrors not big enough to cover my entire dining wall, so now last minute have to change design again. Hubby too upset and STOP the mirror delivery guy from coming as not sure what he is giving us.

Although I mentioned that Winston come within 3 hrs, my hubby was jumping MAD.....Winston's suggestion is to use another type of white laminate and don't know what process so that we will not see black joint lines on white laminate. will have to wait and see next week.

The altar doors have wrong design...how....should get them to change or not??? if change even that, then we practically changed everything except painting work...... :furious: I guess the consolation is that uncle agrees to try to fix them.

    Hi yuenyuen,

Kelvin also did TV console and kitchen cabinet with white laminate for me. We've finished the reno few weeks ago. Just curious, can you please take picture and share on the cracks and joint lines you mentioned earlier? I want to compare if the joint lines on my cabinet is considered "okay" or even worse that yours.

    Cheers,

  8. Hi there,

I bought mine at Yuan Soon Hardware Pte Ltd at Balestier Road, recommended by my ID. So far the service is good and price is reasonable. Recently, my shower mixer which I bought from them has a little leakage. After I called Andy, he immediately called staff from Crizto (I bought Crizto mixer) and Crizto support came to fix the mixer 2 days after (I called on Saturday and the support came on Monday). Now, so far everything is good.

  10. Very nice sink! Would you mind to share he brand/model & where you got this and how much?

    Hi Muakmuak,

Thanks. I bought it at Genova Bendemeer at SGD 500 (including the sink tray). After I bought it, I saw the same model as well at Yuan Soon Hardware :(. So both sell this kind of sink but not sure which one is cheaper as I didn't want to ask Yuan Soon, afraid of being disappointed if the price was cheaper.

  11. beruang.ndut,

did you use glossy laminate for your kitchen? I wanted to used glossy white laminate for my kitchen too, buy Uncle Winson advised against it.

    Hi Gluttonish,

Yes, we used glossy white laminate for our kitchen.

Kelvin against that idea too, because most white gloss laminate will turn yellowish in the longer time, especially if you don't maintain it well.

Since me and my wife rarely cook (probably just weekends) and so far we always clean it every week, we insisted to Kelvin.

    Cheers,
