c-section is short for cesarian section. It involves cutting you up. The operation may result in you developing a keloid, which is a scar like overgrowth of tissue. If you like to wear say bikini, the keloid can be quite obvious.
My wife underwent 17 hours of labour, and in the end, she still has to go for the cesarian. My sister prescribed a cream to deter the formation of keloids, but my wife didn't use it consistently, so the scar is fairly obvious. Incidentally, we ended up paying a bit more than usual because we had to pay for both the delivery room charges *and* the operating room charges. Fortunately, we got a waiver on the obstetrician charges.

I remember a friend saying that a colleague told her that after giving birth, there would be nothing you are afraid of. But she is still 'scared to death' when she needs to see the dentist.Now I know why I am so fearless. My sis is a gynae and my brother is a dental surgeon.

Even when it pop, there is no gurantee it will drop below the level where it begun its ascent.Maybe not below the level it began its ascent, but it may pop to below the level of entry. The higher the prices move up, the higher the risk of the prices moving to below your point of entry (assuming you are planning your point of entry).

if eg. we buy 2 super single , place it in the same bedframe.. but the 2 mattress is using SEPARATE bed sheets.
ie. 2 super single bedsheets...
is this arrangement ok? (coz realised.. king sized bedsheets will be too small for 2 combined super single beds..)
Errr.... why should a king size bedsheet be too small for 2 super single mattresses when 2 super single mattresses can fit into a king size bed frame?

Actually, there are quite a few factors which will determine how satsified you are with the hospital. These include
(a) your gynae/doctor
(b) the nurses on duty

It is very difficult to generalise whether a particular hospital is 'better' or not. Many gynae operate in more than 1 hospital, and very often, the gynae will leave the decision to the patient. Most often than not though, its the nurses which determine how pleasant your stay is. Nurses work in shift, and some nurses are better than others. Even the gynae are sometimes at the 'mercy' of nurses.
My wife gave birth in Raffles. My elder sister-in-law gave birth in Mt Alvernia. My younger sister-in-law gave birth in KKH. No one has anything serious to complain about.

Maybe that's why some men don't like their wife to dress sexily for fear that she will make other men gawk.

I feel good dressing can send out this message "when you feel good, you look good." I am sure our hbs will feel proud if the wives get compliments from others. No men will want to go out with the wives who only has "auntie going market" sense. Sometimes men, eg my hb also has double standards, eg he can say "you can wear anything" in words, but his action, eg his facial expression, can say "can you dont wear this?".Errrr... are we talking about good dressing or sexy dressing? Most men like their wife to dress well, but dressing well does not mean dressing sexily.
And why is it that women consider other women who dress sexily (esp. those that make their men gawked ) to be sl**?

Question:
When ladies dress sexy, do you do it for yourself or for your HB?
If you said it is for your HB, then shouldn't you ask your HB if he wants you to be dressed that way?
If it is for yourself, then you don't have to worry about what he like or don't like.... you should do whatever you like instead. But then, don't complain about your HB not caring about you being gawked at by other men.

When we make a decision as to whether we want something or not, we look at two things:
(a) the cost(s) of having that something
(b) the benefit(s) of having that something
If benefits outweigh the costs, we would choose that thing. If not, we do not choose that thing.
Thus, in deciding whether we want to have kids, we look at
(a) the cost(s) of having kids
(b) the benefit(s) of having kids
Looking after us in our old age is one benefit. If the costs outweight the benefits, why would we want to have kids?

No wonder birth rates are falling!
As at the time of this posting, 9 people have voted, but only 1 person said he/she wish for their child(ren) to support him/her.
Parents nowadays provide more support for their kids. In return, parents expect less support from their kids (if this poll is anything to go by).
So what is the point of having kids????

Motherhood (and parenthood) and career do not mix.
The only way to have meaningful parenthood is to downgrade one's career. In the event that both parents pursue a career, the only way to balance worklife and family life is that at least one of them downgrade his/her career.
Balance worklife is a myth.

yup, so is a rare gem if any hb likes to shop with the wife, esp in the ladies dept.Errrr.... I actually quite enjoy shopping with my wife when she is looking to buy her stuff. And many a times, I pointed out to her a dress or a skirt on a window front/display which I thought she would like. On a couple of occasions, I even accompanied her when she shopped for lingerie.

i'll recommend you toyota previa (a toyota agent car), it's the same as toyota estima (a parallel importer car). hubby's brother bought this toyota previa and i notice it's very spacious than normal MPV cars. the doors are sliding type.http://www.toyotasingapore.com.sg/cars/new...revia/index.asp
Don't like sliding door. Reminds me too much of the VW van that I used to drive to school back in 1981.

Even with the current limits, getting a HDB flat is already difficult. For 300 units, there can be over 3000 people balloting for it. Less help? No, less chance yes.It's all a matter of demand and supply. If there is a genuine desire to help, then supply should not set at a level that will reduce the balloting chance, but at reducing the queue of potential buyers.

That is true .. it will be interesting to see what will happen when all the new properties come into the market 4-5 years down the road ...It wasn't too long ago when we saw building contractors going belly-up before the construction is completed. 4-5 years is a long boom cycle.... we may see a bust even before the new properties are completed. But then, that's just my opinion..... and I am not called Dr Doom for nothing....

Sorry to hear about your plight. I can imagine how you feel. I had a similar experience, except that in my case, when I returned home from the wedding, our house was flooded.
Anyway, I would suggest that you get your own pest exterminator in to prevent further spread of termite infestation to other wooden structure like cabinets, false ceiling etc. Traditional pest exterminators use arsenic powder, but this is a slow method of getting rid of the termites. A more professional exterminator may be able to prevent the spread using newer methods/chemicals. My brother uses a company that has thermalscanning equipment to track down termites, but it is too **** expensive.

For those that fall out of the income ceiling, please think about those whom didn't. The income gap is widening, thus if HDB does increase the income ceiling, it will means that those who needs help will be over-looked.Urrmmm..... raising the income ceiling just means that people with a higher income will be eligible to buy HDB. It does not necessarily mean that less help will be available for lower income people/family (particularly when there are unsold stock of HDB flats).

True MPV = Renault Espace, VW Sharan, Seat Alhambra, Ford Galaxy. etc.I tried the new Kia Carnival last month when I was driving down south in down under, the 2.5V6 is sweet, 5 speed auto with manual overide, seats 8 adults. Quite impressed with the finishing. This van is even bigger than the Toyota Estima. Dissappointed as it doesn't have power door.
I think driving an MPV in Singapore is different from driving an MPV in larger countries. To me, the MPV in Singapore will be used to just shuttle the family to and fro. Right now, I can only seat 4 adults and 1 baby in my car, so any going out with more of my family members means more than 1 car. Journey time won't be longer than 1 hour, so during this hour. But when travelling longer distances, more room is needed per person, since the people have to remained seated for longer periods. Hence a bigger size car/MPV would be better for longer distance travel.
I'll probably settle for a 7-seater MPV........

If you baby is constipating for a few days, you may want to bring her to see a doctor first. Constipation is quite common for many babies (including mine.... record was 5 days without poo-ing).
My mum believes that cereals for the baby can be very 'heaty', resulting in constipation. Likewise, milk powder (as opposed to breast milk) is supposed to be 'heaty' and can bring about constipation. The paedetrician that we brought our baby to see seems to concur with this view.
When we first started my baby girl on Nestle Rice Cereal twice a day, she constipated for a few days (she was about 7 months old then). We then decide to let her have the rice cereal only once a day. For the other meal, we let her have porridge. We use combinations of the following when cooking her porridge: spinach, carrots, sweet potato, tofu and fish. To further help in her bowel movements, we also feed her one small banana (pisang mas) every day. If we don't have pisang mas, we will feed her grated apple. All this seems to have helped in her bowel movements.
Starting this week, my 10-month old baby girl is now totally on formula milk. She seems to like Enfapro (which is Stage 2). For the last few day, we observed that her poo is more solid than before (i.e. when she was on part formula and part breast milk). We will continue to monitor her bowel movements and adjust her diet accordingly.

Dont' know the model name. It's the bigh squarish van where the engine is located behind. If you remember the show 'Eight is Enough', its the van that the eldest brother drove. In many movies depicting the 70s, the van is always associated with hippies and flower power.
