  1. Yah, agreed that all 707 heaters are good. The water pressure for my 707 compact is almost the same if not stronger than the princeton. And Compact is $100 plus cheaper that Princeton. Even the agent for 707 heaters also mentioned that Princeton does not have any special qualities (SPA effect/ different water pressure etc) as compared to Protek. The selling point is the big showerhead. Just sharing my views for new owners. But, I still feel that 707 heaters are still the best in the market and the after sales service is good. Just a phone call, they came almost instantly to change the damage part with no questions asked :thumbs up:

    Hi friends78,

Can I check with you who is the agent for 707? Any numbers to provide me with? Thanks.

  2. Finally, the wallpapers. I bought 2 rolls for TV console, each roll 60X70, so need to cut into 4 pieces, will put them up tomorrow.

  3. hi all,

im newbie.. and was intro to Ideal House after considering / mtg with another 2-3 ID firms. Wondering if anyone engage Melvin from Ideal Hse before? Care to share the feedback? but generally i more concern about the workmanship. Please help / advise.

    thankyou

Hi yangly11, I engaged Melvin as my ID, but I have not collected my keys, therefore my reno havent start yet, but so far his services not bad. Felt comfy wif him. =)

  4. Swiitch on 2... dun mean consume 2 heater leh. The instant one.. unless is actively heating, wun be consuming much power other than the LED light when in standby mode. When the instant heater detect the storage hot water, the overheat sensor will auto cut off power.

Hack toilet tile sure will cause damage to water proofing. When worker hack.. dun really take care. My view is this.. waterproofing fault is very costly to rectify.. involve hacking, rewaterproofing, retiling, downstairs false ceiling, painting, and work downtime.

Given the high opportunity cost of defect, dun risk it lor.

Imagine if toilet floor is marble.. and u can't get back same tonality... xim tia leh.

Hi yoongf, I jus spoke to the designer yesterday & enquired on the bath tub. Apparently he told me no need to take out any tiles, coz he will jus put the tub on top of existing tile, but come to tink of it, i beta not play ard wif this, so as not to haf any waterproofing issues in future. Btw, i also found a website which sells portable bath tub, looks ok, so if i really want a bath tub, will most likely buy tat. Heheh!

As for the heater, designer actually suggested using citygas heater, but i told him i heard ppl say it's no gd coz it takes some time for the water to be hot, but he said otherwise. He said citygas is gd and hot water is almost immediate after turn on shower. Am not too sure on tat tho.

Anyway, the designer's quote (wich he gave us yesterday after 2nd appt), is considered too high for us, considering the tings tat he will be doing for us. So most likely will be giving him up. Now am considering another firm, but jus read the forum thread, seems like not too gd reviews. Haiz...

  5. Is it necessary to use storage heater for rain showers? And also is it necessary to use storage heater if got bath tub? I'm trying not to use storage heater as I dun like to wait for the rite temperature before I bathe, hence the questions.

And does anyone know whether do we need to hackthe toilet floor tiles if we were to install a bath tub?

  6. Alot things is missing from the quotation... and I see the kitchen cabinet is not cheap....

Most ID give soft close free... for blum system... i suggest u go out buyself... I think it cost about 32 per pair...

Your ID charge u 320 is far too high.... I didnt see they quote u solid top for kitchen... and how about glassback???I think u shd need a glassback for easy cleaning up and it looks nice...

Mirror for toilet is too expensive... 100 u shd be able to get...

Did u also ask about rough estimation of electricity? How much is per switch point??

Your quotation is not fully... i scare u will pay more hidden cost after reno start....

Hi shawncck, ya, i realised most IDs gave the soft closing free. The quote on solid top, he did quote me "To supply & install 12ft solid surface work top with 3 inch profile - $780". No glassback.

Ya, mirror is too ex, mayb we can buy from ikea. HAhah! Ya, he did gave us the electrical work. Each light power point is $34. Other IDs charge lower for it.

  7. The quote is very fair. Try to find out more about the ID, see if he/she is experienced or not...cause new IDs usually don't dare to charge ex

Also, don't hurry up and sign because its cheap. Take your time to look around.

Btw, did you just copy paste from the quotation or you type it out yourself. Because this format is really very familiar, including the lack of electrical quotes.....care to pm me the contact? Maybe its a company I know...

    PM-ed u! =)

  8. If job done to your liking it's cheap. I spent more than 26k re-doing 2 toilets, kitchen cabinet, polish flooring and installed light fittings, painting whole flat and cleaning.

Wah! $26K jus for 2 toilets & stuffs. We're on budget, so am trying not to do too much, jus the basics at least will do.

  9. its very cheap, i would say TOO CHEAP. Will the ID limit yr choice of laminates? i heard of very cheap carpentry, but they limit u ALOT of things. u want nicer, they ADD-ON...... Some laminate are REAL CHEAP. Anyway, best of luck.

    Quality, another question.

One very important item missing- ELECTRICAL.

u might be ripped off in this area.

its called- pull long, patch short.

Hi tapilia, am not sure of the quality too, coz haven go & see their showroom.
