    That's what we thought so too. The PE even gave the endorsement as per the picture, but HDB says cannot just hack a portion, must remove the whole wall and rebuild it again. That's why I suspect it was a case of HDB applying different standards

    I also got fined $3. I'm very upset with the way the town council does things. Firstly, there is no notice of payment every month. They think everyone only have their bills to pay. How to remember??

    The worst part is after paying over $50 for the so call S&CC, the corridor outside my house is still so dirty after having moved in for over a month. No one comes and sweep or wash the area. Why are we paying S&CC when we have to sweep and wash the area outside our house on our own. :furious:

    We should all email / call the town council to voice our displeasure. Perhaps they will wake up their idea when they get an overwhelming number of residents from 79 complaining.... :notti::notti::notti:8|

    Pooh, you're right. Since I moved in, the corridor is never free of junks. With the wind directions, it seems that all junks are coming to my neighbour's door step (directly opposite mine). No matter where i swept the junks to, i'll see them back again... :) I was just telling my sis this afternoon that i think i should feedback to town council... :curse:

    The accounts person i spoke to say there is no notice of payment. Every month anytime within the month must pay thru AXS or their website, or go to Blk 125A Town council office to pay. Just now manage to get GIRO form from their office. One for my neighbour also.

    If u use AXS or credit card, must know ur reference number. I only found out from the reminder notice they sent me.

    I pay 52 dollars per month for 4 room.

    haha.. i kanna the fine too.. !! Initially i tot i was under giro only when i receive the summon than I realise i'm not. Anyway, the officer told me giro takes 2 months to process therefore we'll still have to pay at the town council or by internet banking for the month of april

    I'm wondering if it could be due to the renovation works?

    Don't think reno has such great impact. My utility bill during reno cost S$7plus in Dec & Jan and S$13plus for Feb only leh. Imagine i gotta on aircon every night leh and will my bill will hit S$300?? :paint::yamseng:

    Depending in what u looking for. I bought mine from ALP Audio (shop beside KFC) - queenie $80

    They have abt 3 diff types, so u can go ask. Must measure ur screws distance.

    Alister, I have yet to open up the boxes... Will they be able to get me the right bracket if I just provide them with the model number?

    But dun 4get, after carpentry is up, there bound 2 hav some minor touch-ups & cleaning 2 do.

    Its gona b another bz & tiring period again !!

    So u'd replaced ur cooker hood 2 1 w/o chimney & glass-wings? !!

    Or u ask e workers 2 'modified' e chimney 2 a shorter 1? :angry:

    Hi Jacky,

    ID can't modify the chimney due to the kitchen beam therefore we change to the non chimney type :angry: I'm calling up Rinnai tmr as the metal piece has many deep scratches!

    s i mentioned, e prices r rough guide. If were 2 really check-out e market rate, i believe it wld b cheaper. :dribble:

    All e pricing i'd posted r obtained frm IDs or Contractors during my course of reno hunting. It wld b gd 2 share around but it may not b e most accurate, s every co got their own profit margin. :notti:

    Actually, i kinda grateful 2 e neighbour who intro mi 2 Renotalk.

    i had

    - gained invaluable knowledge;

    - got 2 noe tips & lobangs;

    - got 2 noe new neighbours;

    - got 2 make frnds who r like-minded, eversince. :rolleyes:

    But e funny thing is, i had yet 2 noe who is she & hubby in dis forum. :lol: Mayb they jus wana b anonymous. i stil remember they told mi they had confirmed 'everythin regarding their reno', its only a matter of gettin e keys & start e 'show'.

    Btw, dat was half a yr ago. Latest update is dat i'd saw their main entrance foyer bein laid with pebble wash finish.

    If 'U2' r readin my post, wld b happy if u were 2 PM mi. i'm not goin 2 thk u or watever but wana go kpo ur unit. :lol: i believe ur unit oleady completed reno liao, jus waitin 4 e rite month rite day rite hour 2 officially move in. :yamseng:

    i had not pop-by 2 ur unit 2 kpo. kinda 4goten which unit liao. :unsure:

    think u & bonkitty havin e same ID co but different ID. mi had not seen any complain frm u & bonkitty. :)

    For mine so far so good. no major hicups... ;)

    My dateline to him is already very realistic. He gave me a schedule in black & white that he will finish on 15th Dec. When I sign with him on 1st Oct, I specifically told him I want to move b4 my wife gives birth, and he said he is fine with the time.

    15th Dec came and went. My wife gives birth on 1st wk of Jan. Again I told him I give him more time, now 15th Jan. That's a whole month for him. Again came and went.

    Specifically told him again last wk must handover by 23rd Jan b'cos I want to move in b4 CNY for baby 1st mth. I have booked the mover, and it is so difficult to book now due to CNY. Arranged for furnitures to deliver on Fri. No work done on 21st & 22nd. Made me wait for his worker on 23rd till 5pm.

    Tell me how not to be mad ?

    His painter came, told me too late, he don't work OT. At 4pm today, his flooring guy came, told me TOO MUCH WORK to follow up, he needs to rush off to another place. :furious:

    All I can say is I am happy with the design of the hse, ok with the overall standard but suck BIG TIME with timing. I suspect he cannot control his workers.

    Alister, I understand your frustration. Meanwhile, keep your cool and talk to your ID again to get things done. Do a thorough check to see if there is any defect and make sure they do it asap as I sense that once final payment received, they will wash their hands off!

    For my case, there are also hicups here and there which I know it can never avoided. Initially we wanted to move after CNY but was told that they can only hand over in late Feb. The only consolation I have is that my ID will call me immediately to inform me on any changes or delay. Sometimes will be very pissed off la but think it over, rushing/blaming them might not be able to get my things done. :(

    Want to let go my frustruction. Today was very very angry w my ID. He couldn't handover. Has given him 3 deadlines, & he misses all - 15 Dec, 15 Jan & 23 Jan. Last wk, esp highlighted to him I need to finish by 23rd. Reminded him again on Tues morning.

    On mon, electrician moved one power socket & plumber fixed small problems. Tues, totally no one came.

    Today took 1/2 day leave, waited at the flat under 5pm b4 the 1st batch of worker came. Tell me how not to be angry ? He jolly well knows he has to handover today. :yamseng::dunno::dunno:

    In the end the workers couldn't finish the work, delay again, and I am moving in this Sat :bangwall:

    CHILL Alister. Sit down with your ID and ask him for realistic handover dateline. :notti:

    Id says due to the beam, i cannot use this model otherwise when they cut away the top chimney, the ventilation will be cut off too therefore no ventilation. Anyone using this model?? Need urgent advise before i gotta opt for another model.
