    Droplet.. No one is stopping you to sell anything on the forum if you want to... On the other hand, the voucher will come in handy if anyone is going to buy a mattress and able to save $40 off his/her purchase. When I bought my Simmons mattress, how I wish I had a voucher like this and could enjoyed a bit of savings!

    I have a Ackerman & Smith $120 voucher for sale. Minimum spending of one Queen size mattress is required. No expiry date. Willing to let go at >30% discount ($80) as I had already had a King-sized Simmons bed which I bought from them. Interested please pm me. :)

    Hi Friends, I stayed in Jalan Membina, my wc problem is due to pan collar in between the wc and the drainage pipe. (you may see the jalan membina blog)...wish all can settle the matter fast!

    - jul08 utilities rebate for

    4-rm = $95

    5-rm = $60

    - final amount nids 2 pay varies lah.

    - dependent on e usage amount b4 rebate & e rebate amount based on flat size.

    - btw, so how's e 'rectification' by e hdb services centre appointed plumber?

    the hdb technical guy and the main con plumber will come on Friday. Ha, I've also arranged for my contractor to be ard.. So see who point finger at who lor.

    I not very sure too. You asked ard first before confirming. I was told that jsut clearing the choke without removing the WC already cost S$50 but it's unless cos the problem will persist again. Y not u try buy the toilet pump to pump first.

    Your WC choke, mine stinks!

    Called HDB, the technical guy will be coming down to my unit with one of the main con. You might want to ask your neighbour to call up HDB as well.

    - same probm s another kakis here.

    - i was talkin 2 her e other day. She had her WC replaced several times but stil e 'foul smell' is there.

    - told her, she gota live with it.

    - base on my limited knowledge, e probm lies in e 'Model' of e WC. Not e sanitary soil & waste discharge stack (vertical pipe).

    - e discharge stacks r sealed, no foul air wil escape frm within.

    - e only accessible pts r e 'rodding eye' which r located at e bottom of e 'S'-trap (s-shape piping inside ur concealed duct above).

    - dis 'rodding eye' r there for clearing of chockage & r tightly screwed.

    - inside e WC, there is olso dis 'S-trap' thingy.

    - it works by means of a siphonic action.

    - e 'S' at e trap is designed in such a way dat e soil/waste water at e bottom wil fil up 2 e top of e 'S'.

    - dis 'trapped water' acts s a seal 4 foul air 2b kept within e piping.

    - unlike traditional type of sanitary discharge system, there is an additional small diameter ventilation pipe attached 2 e soil pipe.

    - dis vent pipe wil eventually vent out at e roof-top.

    - newer flats no more such vent pipe liao although its e best system.

    - in ur case, i belief its becos e water in e 'S-trap' is insufficient, dats y e foul air wil escape.

    - Dunoe u understand wat i meant anot. Its kinda technical.

    - Mayb i shd go sell WC.

    I know roughly what u're referring to. Was told my WC is otto brand... siao liao la.. how to live with it! eveyday come home open the door feel so frustrating! :curse:

    My contractor is coming down next Fri to look at it. Hopefully he's able to resolve. sianz... :furious:

    Dear 79 Neighbors,

    My hubby gotta suggestion->

    We frm 79 jointly write in to Town Council, request for Gondolas for their workers 2clean our a/c ledges (jus lyk they clean our porch/corridors). Our blks stil new so, shud be easier 2clean... etc

    I volunteer to draft/write letter to TC but cos I dun stay there/hardly in, nid some1 2coordinate signatures, any volunteers??

    Hope 2hv clean ledge soon instead of current dust-covered & heavily littered ledge so much so, we hardly dare open our windows for fear of dust gettin into out livin/dining areas. :dancingqueen: Planned 2sleep in tmr & visit 79, hope it rainz then : )

    Winnie LS lor. Bring her go vet yesterday. Spend $67-00. I think she look better today before i go work, vet said this 3 days no treats for her, only dry food allowed. Thanks for the concern.

    - if e unit above havnt lay e flooring, additional water on e raw concrete wil somehow find its way thru & dn e reinforce concrete slab.

    - in meepok's case, there is already a crackline but not visable or mayb covered up oleady. It was only visable after e 'flooding' test was done by e neighbour above.

    - if e unit above hav done or is doing e flooring, e moisture content in e cement & sand & water composition, wil somehow find a space 2 escape. Basic knowledge is water will flow dnwards.

    - if there is a crackline in ur ceiling, then water droplets or watermark wil slowly appear at e cracked location.

    - if there is no crackline in ur ceiling, then e floor tile's cement base of e above unit wil takes slighly longer a time 2 cure & harden.

    base on my knowledge,

    - for dry areas, e rectification is done by plastering e affected areas & paint over.

    - for wet areas (toilets), rectification is done by means of P.U. injection. (inject chemical thru e cracks, once chemical dries up, it seal up e gaps).

    - for resale flats, some units opt not 2 redo e waterproofing & relay e tiles as it is very expensive.

    - e waterproofing cost is bear by both top & bottom unit.

    - in our case, it is new flat which is stil within e 3yr restriction hacking period, watever water seepage/leakage, we do not hav 2 pay a cent. Unless e waterproofing membrane had been tampered with.

    The HDB guy says crack line is very common as it appears in every single unit. And as long as no water mark or leakage than it's ok. :furious:

    I shall do that than. The unit above mine as completed their reno. Initially I tot the crack line was nothing serious till i saw yr post! :jawdrop:

    Mine was after water seepage then the crack line appeared... before that no crack line...

    Maybe u want to check with the Service Center? Your above unit occupied? :dunno:

    Cos I believe if your upstairs did the same thing, water would have already came thru'...

    Yes occupied!!! I've drop a note to HDB and will wait for their advise

    Hi Toppie,

    One of the bedroom ceiling has a long paint crack line now and a wet mattress and pillow... damages so far still minor. Just that the L-box/false ceiling area will take some time before any damages will be revealed.

    Spoke with the HDB people, they said you can only flood the toilets... not the other areas and DON'T FLOOD THE KITCHEN too!

    The upstair neighbours were still alright, they're willing to compensate for whatever damages caused. Just hope the damages will be minimum... hate to redo the reno again! :bangwall:

    HDB also mentioned that everything should be alright once the water dries up... my ceiling won't crash down nor disintegrate! As long as they don't repeat the same idiotic act again! :bow:

    My main bedroom ceiling directly above my bed also have a long crack line!!! But so far no leakage yet... Does it mean that my neighbour above also did the same thing?? :(

    initially thought my unit tripped but after checking no leh.

    later found out from a guy juz go to services centre @ blk c and inform them.

    within 5mins, ok liao.
