    HELP HELP!!

    My MBR toilet shower tap CANNOT be turn off!!! and water keep running.. Now i had to turn off the main switch from outside.. anybody know where is the turn off switch at the MBR toilet?? URGENT pls.... Had no water supply now.. :(

    And also is it very difficult to change the shower tap? Im using the HDB provided one, din change when i move in.. Can i find it at NTUC?

    i dun have the strength to push all the rubbish to the lift lobby...it's a MOUNTAIN!:(:notti::(:lol:

    pay conservancy fees and removal of debris fee to get a mountain... i must find bangladesh workers to throw for me liao...

    but tell her that she has a big and spacious room-cum-WIW liao...that's something that i also want but didn't get...so it's equal!! hee!!

    hi ms white, u can call town council to ask them to clear.. we also always had rubbish outside our unit and it is really fire hazard lor.. my hb always call n complain ... then they will quickly get their bangladesh workers to come liao..

    The problem is not with the heater but the long pipes. I have the same problem with my 30L Ariston Electric Heater. The fastest way to get hot water is to switch the mixer tap fully to HOT and run until the warm water come out, only then do you adjust the temperature.

    But there is still a difference between storage heater and gas heater. Storage heater, as the name implies heats and store the water. From my current experience, if I heat the water up in the morning and then off it for the rest of the day, I can still get warm water in the evening without having to turn on the heater again. But gas heater will have to be on everytime you need hot water. The storage heater is also noiseless too...just my two cents...

    yalor, for gas heater, we need to heat up the water everytime we want to use.. wat abt instant heater? i remember reading somewhere we cant install in our toilet due to dunno wat? is this so?

    1st , did you go in with ID?

    2nd, how much is ur square downlights? Alister paid $24.50, I paid $29

    3rd,My halogen is $23 for 1. urs?

    4th, how much is ur hamburger?

    5th, is ur rect lights, glass type? 2 tubes or 3 tubes?

    6th, T5 light, length? Alister paid $26 for 4ft, urs?

    do u have free doorbell? -_-

    u didn't buy any hanging dining light?

    i bought my T5 (4ft) at lightcraft.. very cheap. only $9.63 inclusive of gst! the cheapest i can find..

    hi ebing... i think so.. but not sure if its that one. that's a very nice piece too cos reflective. =) i wanna get that too in the beginning but later saw the roses... and the story ended. haha. i mixed the red rose with white and the common toilet i use the black rose totally. hopefully everything will turn out nice. <crossing my fingers>

    ya the cement screeding is super long! those got keys can start queueing liao. haha.

    coz hdb only got one contractor doing cement screeding.. but mayb u can try ur luck by asking ur id to chase the hdb technical officer.. hehe.. tat is wat we did n in the end they cemend screed for us within one week.. for those collected keys, u can submit the form for cement screeding when u submit ur defects form.. this will also speed up the process..... :notti:

    I have to admit that I was as confused as you when I first come across this item! Of course now with so many visits to the toilet accessories shops, I have learnt that a mixer is:

    JUST A TAP THAT ALLOWS YOU TO MIX HOT AND COLD WATER!:notti:

    yesyes.. oso as blur too.. any recommendation? im looking for kitchen sink n mixer... been to one shop at boon lay way tradehub, this is what they quote us:

    fujioh hood n hod (3 burner) $720

    kitchen sink $330

    mixer $120

    is this reasonable?

    as for downlight, i got a quote of $42, wonder is this reasonable?? it comes with 2 x PLC 13W warmwhite and 2 x EC 13 Atco ballast.. too technical dunno what it means..

    Hi guys, i need ur help here.. i wanted to file a claim against one of the ID firm that i had engaged previously but utimately did not sign up with them..

    we had placed a deposit of $1k juz to get the 3D design and quotation.. but after liasing with the ID, she handed over to her colleague whom we are not very comfortable with. so in the end we decided not to engage them.

    In our appointment letter, it states that the $1k can be exchange with items.. but now it seems like the company has closed down coz they are no longer at their current address!! we tried to call the ID and she told us they had shifted but my hubby forgot to ask her the new address :bangwall: then after a few weeks she still did not get back to us on the items that we wanted to exchange. so hubby call her again, then she said she is still on maternity and ask us to call her boss..

    the prob is the boss did not answer our calls no matter hw many times we tried to contact him! i had checked with acra and it seems tat the company is still alive but it still reflect the old address.. now i dunno where to find them wor.. so what shld i do now?? :bangwall:

    One piece of advise for those who wanna make black solid top...scratches will be very obvious.

    White is harder to maintain if u cook everyday but scratches will not be seen.

    Maybe can choose those off white colours... :dancingqueen:

    bonkitty, like wat bethel say, scratches is will be very obvious leh.. off white sounds good idea.. :dunno:

    It was quite a daring move to go "Ang Gong Gong," our main concern is if it will look too Cheena...But then we wanted a bright theme for the kitchen and the red chosen is not normal red but techno steel red - hope that will make a diff! The actual color is not very obvious now cos all the surfaces are protected by a plastic film, praying hard that the end product will be what we are expecting :bow::bow::bow:

    BTW, we have also opted for a white top for the kitchen cabinet. We thought white will set off the red very well, but then again, it is not a conventional color as most people will go for darker colors. My ID asked me for a final confirmation just now and I told him "white"...hopefully I won't do an expensive U-turn again later! ;)

    Finally bought my dining and kitchen lights and the MBR sink and tap today. We took a while to shop for the MBR sink cos we do not want another white basin. In the end, again settled for a very controversial piece after much deliberating. My ID was even concerned that it may not go well with the theme and color of the MBR toilet and that really got us thinking for a long time. To make matter worse, there was already a very suitable piece available and it is flower-shaped like the theme of our MRB toilet (but yes, it is also white). This is a fool-proof choice that will definitely not go wrong, but in the end, we figure that we have to be true to ourselves as this will be our home - so made another daring decision against all conventional wisdom and advice from the expert :dancingqueen::notti::P I will keep this a surprise until you see it in my house the next time! Oh yes, the tap will be a conversation piece too!

    The lights are another story altogether and we went for simple and smart designs that will not only look good but will be easy to maintain as well. Spent about $480 for the dining and two kitchen lights. By then already so tired, so we put off the purchase of the toilet and storeroom lights to another day. But these should hopfully be simple and straightforward decisions :good::good::good:

    my kitchen is oso red :) we tot of using black surface top but dunno whether is it very difficult to maintain.. if not we will also be gog for white top :) ehehee.. but both oso quite difficult to maintain.. :o

    anybody can feedback on Allbest? I went to their IMM branch, quite impressive with their service and they are certified under case trust.. how is their service and installation skill?

    they recommended Daikin system 3 non inverter with 18k/12k/9k BTU with 2 trip installation

    hi, im looking for system 3 units and planning to install in my living room, guest room and MBR (MBR actually consist of 2 bedrooms, had hacked to become 1). So what is the BTU that i shld be looking at? Also, only two of us is staying, which means only one air con will be ON at one time.. shld i go for inverter or non-inverter?

    pls advise.

    hi guys, need some advice on the followings:

    1. for haulage and debris, i was charged $900 for 4rm.. Is this the same for the rest of u? And also, do town council provide us with sand or any material?

    2. For cement screeding, do HDB also provide material or solely labour only?

    3. Hacking of the L shape wall between master bedroom and bedroom beside it, we will need to pay PE fees rite? I was told, $500 is just for the engineer to endorse on the paper and there will be additional charges like the transportation or time he spent, etc. and the total amount can come up to $1k???

    Just make sure that the PE fees of $500 is already included....

    what is PE fees?

    If only HDB also give us the option to opt out for doors.. i find the wooden door nice but nt suitable for toilets, coz it took up alot of space.. i will be removing three doors for MBR toilet, MBR and BR 2, and will be moving my MBR entrance forward.. wonder can i fix the door back again? coz my ID told me once the doors are dismantle, it canno be used anymore..

    Dismantle existing 2 sets of door & door frame @ MBR & BR2 2 sets

    Hack existing solid wall b/w MBR & BR2 14ft

    Haulage of raw material & removal of debris to appointed ENV dumping ground (except HDB Renovation submission fees)

    Total in lump sum $900

    is this reasonable?

    Dear All 79ers

    I took leave deliberately and went to HDB today to enquire about my HDB loan application status at around 8.30am. My submission dateline for documents' on 6 Sep but I have not received any news from them. To my horror, the CSO told me that my loan application has not been processed!:drunk:! And she tried to call the officer in charge: Jessie Choo and this person's not answering her calls despite 5 attempts!

    1) The CSO said she's worried that they might have lost the documents that I have submitted. How can this be? If they did not receive my documents/ have lost my documents, then they should call me or my hubby right? Almost 1 month has passed and there's no news from them. Only when I went to ask, then I get an answer telling me my docs have been misplaced/ lost???

    2) What are the HDB officers doing? How come they are not answering their calls during work hours? And somemore the calls are from internal/ fellow colleagues. What happened to professionalism? No wonder people always say civil servants are very "nua". Now is 10am liao. And this Ms Choo has not gotten back to me yet.

    3) When I called a HDB Officer named Chee Oi Ping last Monday, she told me she will send email to expedite my request for getting the house keys. Almost 2 weeks has passed and no more answers from HDB, esp when they seem to be having problems with my home loan application. Was there any communication between departments?

    If this drags on, I wonder when I will be getting my keys. Scarly I will not be able to get it even by March next year. Gosh.... I want my flat keys!:sport-smiley-004:!! =(

    I hope this does not happen to any of you good future neighbours out there.... Continue to chase them if you find anything suspicious. They are really very very very "nua".

    ** I've finally received a call frm HDB. The first thing this guy frm HDB said was: "You want us to call you for what har?" Then he followed by blaming me about not leaving my IC number. Hello!:sport-smiley-004: Its the CSO who filled up the form to ask them to call me and she was the one who din note my particulars down!:furious: After that he still had the cheek to ask me if I've submitted my documents or not? Geesh.... When I said I submitted my docs around 1 mth ago, he said he'll check and call me back again. So now I'm waiting.....

    *** Another lady called back. Told me she die die have to get my payslip when my company dun issue payslip. Then told me to ask company to write letter. *%#@%$%&*(#! Can't they get back to me earlier and not tell me only when I go to HDB to enquire about it?

    my application also very slow.. tat day i called my officer in charge she oso say mayb my doc is missing tats why so slow.. but up to today, i din receive any calls from the loan officer abt the missing doc... but i did submit all doc (my company letter and hb's payslip), think the loan officer is juz sitting on our documents... did u try to call the officer's mobile? coz my officer oso always nt answering her office phone but when i called her mobile she answer wor...
