Yeah.. so i was thinking of overlapping it? But will it cause any problems?

I will be purchasing a new hdb unit that comes with finishings such as wall tiles and flooring, including toilet bowls and what-have-yous. You know the usual white tiles and stuff. Is it a waste of money if I take it all out and redo my own design? Or should I just stick to what they gave me and work around there? If you're me, what would you do?
