but quite a few studios. i wonder why? high demand for elderly who downgrade?

Given a choice, I believe many elderly people will not want to go through the hassle of moving house from a bigger one to a small one.

Govt always increases the minimum sum required for CPF every year and builds more studios. It is like 'confiscating' more and more of the elderly people's retirement fund, and makes them downgrade to a studio to get money for retirement and pay for medical bills.

  2. The data updated over the web ought to be after 2nd appt when transaction is deemed completed. Many things miggt happen which result in cancellation of transaction between 1st & 2nd appt.

    You may be right. :)

Anyway I am just sharing that I was able to see my resale transaction on that page before my 2nd appointment... haha unless I remembered wrongly lor.

  3. The resale price which includes COV in HDB website should be after the second appointment when the deal is done. Second appointment is usually within 12 weeks from date of submission of OTP.

That page actually reflects all resale prices (including COV) for approved resale transactions after their 1st appointment.

My resale transaction appeared on the page after 1 week after my 1st appointment.

  4. So sorry to make you repeat again. Just to clarify my doubts.

Does it mean that I can apply BTO now. Meanwhile I am holding on the pte property,

before 2nd appointment, I need to transfer or sell my property away?

May I know where can I get the information about this?

You are not eligible to apply for BTO at this point in time.

  5. err.. they offered me jupiter at 2k, which model did you get at 1388?

Osim Upure $99 pay with Amex (usual $128)

The Osim Upure cannot fit onto my kitchen tap. It has been idling round my house for 6 months lol.

  6. recently i added mnd on facebook.

most of comments there are from people who need (or they think they need) help.

    Groups of people:

    1. young couple who wants to get married

    2. young married couples

    3. young married couples with children

    4. singles

To me, groups 1 to 3 have a higher need than group 4, i.e. one house can meet the needs of 2 people. However, many singles are hounding the govt to let them buy a flat. This will certainly open floodgates, every single guy or ger will go out and buy a 4 room flat, pay for housing using max loan from monies from CPF and rent out rooms. This will enable them to cash in on CPF savings at a young age. Sounds like a very good idea!

I, for one, certainly do not want that to happen. We have enough of that these kind of people already.

As for whether flats are expensive or not, it really depends. I read in one tblog that says that he is looking for a table, on budget. So the appropriate one he or she found is from ikea, costing $500+. That to me is certainly expensive, but to him/her, its "budget". A matter of perspective i guess, no right or wrong.

To solve pricey hdb. --> what is pricey? And what price level would people stop complaining that it is pricey?

If singles can buy directly buy flat from hdb, I for one, will not want to get married haha!

  7. I highly suspect I have a Mother Lizard in my storeroom (last seen) as I been getting baby lizard once every 1-2weeks crawling.

    Just saw one!

Besides the pandan leaves, lemon grass teabags, how do u locate that lizard?

    =(

    Hb not @ home!

That mother lizard is so fertile argh...

Have u tried setting up lizard trap near the door of storeroom?

  8. Let u see BIG pictures, as you like it:

To be effective & efficiencient in preventive & corrective jobs, "fix-it" man needs use of "proper tools". Specific tools are designed & used for specificed jobs, however, at time, "this" tool can be used for "that" job but outcome not as desired.

Preventive is always better than corrective, in any situations.

Senior Khaw has classified the "problem" into short/middle/long terms, and he also has identified three groups of ppls have "short term" needs. He is going to fix this first. What "tools" will he use?

MBT has used tools like MOP, seller stamp, loan-value-ratio. He has thought of using the tool of "income ceiling", but does not has the opportunity of using it.

Complicated jobs need complicated tools. Tool user must be proficient in using such as well, otherwise.....

I think he will provide option of interim rental to singaporeans?

I notice the HDB is rushing the building of high-rise rental flats in many towns now. The building progress of the rental flats nearby my BTO is even faster than the building progress of my own BTO lol.

  9. From west coast town council website:

    5room - $61

    4room - $48.50

    3room - 36.50 (what i am paying)

    From Holland Bukit panjang TC:

    5room - $60.50

    4room - $48

    3room - 36.50

    From Tanjong Pagar town council:

    S1 - 81

    S2 - 100

    5room - $62

    4room - $49

    3room - 36.50

I think S1/S2 refers to Duxton flats. Yes, horribly expensive. :(

I think i would curse as well if i have to pay that amount every month.

Yeah lor. S1 & S2 residents who drive, will end up paying almost the same fee as some suburban condos residents. The condo residents still get additional facilities.

  10. Mine at ECTC, 5 room ($66), carpark $63.70.

    http://www.ectc.org.sg/scc.html

Previously(end 2009)paid $370/per mnth for "maintenain fee" for a 1297sq ft condo unit of total 232 units with "full facilities".

You are lucky to grab a season parking for open carpark. No need to drive car up and down, no need to take stairs/lift up and down, and cheaper fee than multistorey carpark. thumbsup.gif

Hard to find open carparks nowadays. HDB is demolishing open carparks.
