  1. Not forgetting the wonderful tears... ... :bangwall:

On the night before Cooling Day, PAP delivered leaflets to all blocks in my GRC. It threatens us that if we do not vote PAP, our property price will crash.

My nail manicurist who is a new Singapore citizen, asked me "Why Singapore Government threaten the people like that? China government does not do that".

  2. It's very quiet over here in Pasir Ris, can barely feel any election fever.

But I'm really interested to see what happens tomorrow to all the constituencies who are contested by WP! :D

Must sleep early tonite so that got strength to watch the news :) must be very interesting.

If there are recounting of votes in view of disputes or ambiguity (e.g when either party lose by jux a low percentage of votes), then the announcement of results would cross over to the wee hours of the morning. :D :D

SDA's Harminder Pal Singh at Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC rally, May 1

With Harminder in parliament, no minister will doze off again hahaha.

  3. I am glad to hear that... at least only 1 limping man managed to climb outta toilet in a detention centre...

Imagine if they are paid like Barak Obama, the whole Guantanamo Bay also will escape without much hassle :dribble: ... .. I feel really safe now, thanks for sharing the info

The government can't even guard a TOILET, how to trust them to guard a NUCLEAR PLANT? :furious:

  4. Earlier, Tin had also violated the election rule when she asked for people to vote her in her Youtube video before Nomination Day.

Tanjong Pagar was a walkover at this GE because they rejected opposition's application and accused them of 35min lateness.

Btw some Singapore forums are shut down since last night for us to 'cool' haha.

  5. How.... by selling Kate Spade bags??? hahahahahahha

Today is Cooling Day, whereby no election candidate is allowed to put up any message or do any campaign activity.

Earlier today, Tin was caught posting message to ridicule Nichole on her facebook wall. :sport-smiley-004: The screen captures were posted on another forum. After another person replied to Tin to remind her that today was a Cooling Day, Tin deleted her own message and that person's message.

  6. HDB announced to build

    1. 16,xxx flats (BTO, DBSS, EC)in 2010

    2. 22,000 flats (BTO, DBSS, EC) in 2011. May be MORE to come.

    Now with the:

-NWC recommendation to increase wage, when to implement??

-CPF contribution capping to increase from $4,500 to $5,000, when to implement??

-The review if ceiling increase will take 6 months, applicable to BTO only, as DBSS, EC already in the range of 8k-10K.

    Impacts foresee:

    - Takeup rate of DBSS/EC will dramastically slide down, all would-be buyers stay aside and wait.

    - Developers(CDL, Sim Lian.....)"swear seow" - kena the "arrow" from little-good-for-nothing, have to come out with "secret weapons" to sell, sell & sell existing ones(EC & DBSS).

    - Those looking for resale, due to 8k capping, pull a brake and wait. Who "swear seow"? COV, resale price.

Why put the caps here & there to disturb the free market? Then modify the caps here & there again - too free, nothing to do? Then now say "sorry". Gave you the vote of confidence kena treated like monkey being kicked here & there, very fun hor?

Desperate person calls for last minute desperate measures in order to save the sinking ship

PAP said that they are importing another 900K foreigners into Singapore. Some of them will become PRs. They may make up for the lost demand in the resale market?

  7. Actually, we have made a calculation.

There is no way a couple earning 4k to own a 4-rm hdb without any cash upfront, and just use CPF.

    Here's the calcuation.

    Total income : 4k

    Cpf contribution (refer : http://www.cpf.gov.sg/cpf_info/Online/Contri.asp)

    Ordinary Account $ 920.08

    Medisave Account $ 280.00

    Special Account $ 199.92

    --------------

    Total Contributions $ 1,400.00

    ===========

Total AO accumlated after 6 mths : $5520.48

Assumming $5520.48 is used totally for min downpayment at the time of signing of the Agreement for Lease ( exclude stamp fee and legal fee) , which is 5% of the cost of the unit. Then , the bto flat got to be sold at $110,409.60. BTW , even hougang BTO is selling at 250k upwards.

Ahlamah. MBT 2 days ago still claimed that a graduate who works 1 year will have enough cash to buy a HDB !!

The house no need to renovate, no need to install toilet bowl, windows ah?

I don't know what to say...

  8. How will resale prices fall when MBT keeps increasing BTO unit prices every quarter?

Punggol BTO that was launched yesterday

Flat Type Floor Area (sqm) Internal Floor Area (sqm) No. of Units Indicative Price Range ($)

    3-Room 67 65 118 $201,000 - $242,000

    4-Room 92 90 440 $307,000 - $390,000

    5-Room 112 110 246 $400,000 - $484,000

Our CPF will get wiped out.

  9. Emergency residents meeting at West Coast GRC over forced en bloc sale

    April 24th, 2011 | Author: Your Correspondent

The Temasek Review (TR) has learnt that an emergency meeting for affected residents of Clementi Avenue 5 (West Coast GRC) has been called today at 1600 hours over the planned forced SERS upgrading of Block 321, 322 and 323.

According to an affected resident, Block 321 – Block 323 has been shceduled for en bloc sale (back to HDB?) under the SERS upgrading scheme and affected residents were not consulted on.

The resident, who identified himself as Mr Tong said that they were merely informed of the planned en bloc and were not asked for their permission or opinion.

Mr Tong furthered that the affected residents were given a choice of “upgrading” to a flat of the same type (ie: 3-room to 3-room) or to a larger unit but the compensation monies given for their existing unit were low compared to the market rate.

“As such, those who choose to say, upgrade from a 3-room flat to a 3-room flat will get roughly $50,000 in cash compensation while those who wants a to upgrade from a 3-room flat to a 4-room or 5-room flat will need to fork out about $450,000 to make up for the differences”, he added.

Other residents this correspondent spoke to have expressed disbelieve at the ridiculous price of the new offered flats and the pathetic offer of about $50,000 for a one-to-one same unit “upgrade” compared to if they were to sell their flat in the open market.

The new3-room flats offered are also smaller in seze compared to the existing unit.

Mdm Tang, another angry resident of Clementi Avenue 5 for 30 years is pissed that the SERS upgrading was shoved down her throat without her permission nor any say in the matter.

Meanwhile, at a coffeeshop nearby, perturbed residents were heard uttering that come this election, they and their familes would vote for any pigs, dogs or cats the opposition party field over the People’s Action Party (PAP).

“These (PAP) government officials are not humans [不是人] and the present government has obviously lost its directions”, said Mdm Tang.

Mdm Tan said: “The government thinks we are old and useless, so easy to “eat” (translated from hokkien “jiat”)”, a sentiment shared by many at the coffeeshop.

It is understood that the affected residents will be holding an emergency meeting at the void deck of Block 322 at 1600 hours today to discuss this and hopefully get the relevant authorities to “listen”.

TR will update this article as and when new information are available.

  10. Residents @ clementi Ave blk 323 Ave 5 affected by the HDB en-bloc program. Many are unhappy about being made to move. The new flats are smaller than the ones they currently live in. A resident we spoke to told us they have already approached Arthur Foong, the incumbent MP, who has turned them away by saying this matter is out of his scope. We the Reform Party say the residents concerns are our top priority, their interests must come FIRST
