    Sure... B.T.W, I nearly bought an unit at Blk 469 then when I was scouting for an unit but had to give it up as owner was asking quite ridiculious price and refuse to give into bargaining... Am glad any way that i found my current unit.

  2. The homogenous tiles I choose is not smooth surface one... It is matt surface thus not slippery when wet.... There is 2 kind of surface for homogenoues nowadays unlike few years ago wor...

    LADY R... U can pop by my house the next time you visit your new place during weekend wor... haha... anyway, we are kinda of near to each other lor... I am just round the corner to St.Fransis Assisi Kindergarten. Hee... one good reasons why I bought the flat last year was for the school... so that my 4yr old gal will start her nursery there this year, follow by her K1 & 2 thereafter.

    Ooo... by the way, my gal did fell fews times also inhoues initially, but not because floor is slippery... she fell down the stairs as she is also **** active one... but after a while, she get use to it liao. The last time even ended up "checking-into" NUH for observation. Have to be a bit careful initially lor as I see that you also have a coming 4 yr old gal...

    Welcome to the neighbourhood! I'm in St.42 too at blk 54X... Been here for almost a year now...

    I recall that when I 1st bought the house, the floor is also laid with marble. However I choose to hack it off at the lower floor and replace them with homogenous tiles as I have a 4 year old kid at home. Didn't want her to slip and fall when the floor is accidentally wet. For upper floor, I over-lay them with gray laminated flooring. Hee...Your master room concept is juz like what I've had done with mine. Great minds thinks alike! :yeah:

  4. 1) the downstairs wash area can not put in toilet am I right? Initially I thought must have a WC downstairs but now pretty much give up on that. All IDs I consulted said not sure since current pipes are boxed up

    Just bought and did a total revamp to my EM earlier this year with renovation completed in late April. We did built a toilet area downstair in the kitchen. Can but must go HDB and get permit. Your ID should be able to do it for you. :thumbs up:


  5. In Chinatown, shophouses between the Hindu Temple and Budda Tooth Temple. It is a shop that sells alot of oil painting on cavas, different sizes, frame or not.

    I bought mine there and believe me, it is exactly the same as what you've attached, only that mine is in tones of black, white and gray. :yamseng:

    Does anyone have any experience with Lotus Sleep Studio in their IMM or Park Mall outlets?

    I bought mine at IMM. For what I know, IMM and Park Mall carries different models.

    At IMM: Service Wise - Good. Product Range - Limited for Lotus as they also carries other brands there.

    Ending... bought a king size Lotus mattress and so far, it is really good compared to the previous 2 that I had... :sport-smiley-004:


  7. Hmm...I've used them twice thus far with no issues and I actually do find their service attitude quite good. :rolleyes:

    If you do a price comparison of theirs versus those at shops, it is true somehow that their prices are actually much lower for some models. For this, you should had enjoyed some substantial savings by buying through them. It is true that somehow, the delivery was screwed but personally, it does seems that they are sincere in doing what they can. As they've actually explained, it may be true that this is the best that they can offer as their profit is way low? Anything more may results in negative sales (which is just like giving you the goods for free) and since no way you can be "happy" on their supposed best, they could jolly well cancel the order and refund you the total amount and closed their doors on the matter...but they chose not to do so wor...

    Nevertheless, I guess you are entitle to your frustration but one should not get "carried away". I may seems nosey but I really think you should let the matter go as afterall, you've actually accepted the $100.00 compensation... willingly or not.

    As for me, I will continue to used them should the needs arises. Take care. :P

Stubborn yes :rolleyes: but family for me always comes 1st and I normally do give in to them so till now after X no of years, I am still happily married to my one and only... :yeah: B.T.W, my mum and my daughter have them too, also on both hands.

    i m new EM owner. have been following the forum for a looonnng time. finally getting my keys next week. would like to check with EM owners who have done total overhaul for their house, how much was ur reno? the 1st quote i jus received fr a contractor is $123k. almost fainted!!!! is this normal? i am really tearing down the whole house, even realigning stairs.

    can anyone who has done a total overhaul for their reno share their quotation with me? quite desperate cos once i get keys next week i hve to start reno immediately....only hve 6 weeks to complete reno so that i cn move out of my current location.

    Just collected Keys and started Reno last week. Total overhaul for my place too (Floor and Wall tiles, Stairs Landing and Glass railing, Replace inner bedroom Walls facing stairs with glass, Re-build toilet in kitchen, Total revamp of 2 Toilets upper floor, Changing all Windows & Grills & Doors, Full Kitchen revamp and design, full rooms revamp and design, Full carpentry design living and dinning...... and many more). Will be using lots of glass and mirrors in house.and yes, the reno bill alone came up to just over 100K. However I engage a ID for the work instead.

    Got several quotes from different ID during scouting and all quoted similar prices based on what I want.

    Wah then you really got a price for SF-80KJ because when I went to check at Kong Tai they were selling at $488 but they delivered FOC from Mon to Sat and no delivery on Sunday. Which Audio House outlet did u go to?

    Yup... Agree this was a great price... It was the Liang Court Outlet that I went yesterday. Delivery was FOC too, maybe because of the fridge that I've bought together. :P


  11. Juz bought mine today at Audio House. R-SF42YMS SR Refrigerator, Stainless Steel 6 Dr 427L for $1900, Free Vacuum Cleaner worth $150. Hope it is good too as 1st time buying Hitachi Electrical Appliances... Also picked up washing machine 8 kg, Hitachi Eco at $430. Total for these 2 items: $2330. :unsure:

    Just wanna check. Just realized that am quoted the following from ID...

    - Supply and Fix Wrought Iron Gilles at Dining and unity room windows (65sq area) - $820

    - Supply and Fix aluminum frame (white) w/tinted glass sliding window at dining and utility (65sq area) - $700

    - Supply and Fix aluminimu frame (white) w/tinted glass casement window ****, kitchen, 3 bedrooms (270sq area) - $3780

    - Supply and Fix white power coated sliding window grills at dining, utility, living and 3 bedrooms - $2000

    - Supply and Fix white powder coated frame louvers winder at 2nd flr both bathrooms - $760

    The above "window and window grill work" alone will cost me $8060.

    Do U think it is reasonable?

    The quote was just given to me on Saturday and I am starting my reno next week but the hacking work and floor work will start 1st thuz I think I may still be in time to ommit the above if it is not reasonable and source for diret supplier instead.

    As it is a EM, any EM owner can share the cost on the above? Any direct supplier contacts?

  13. Been waiting for a quote from them since 7th January but till date still nothing. Each time I check, they say will revert in 2 days. Last email to me earlier last week says that quote will be further delay as they are B Z and tight on their schedule thuz :( Guess nothing very much I can do .I've gone ahead and confirm my previous ID. Sorry, not trying to be a wet blanking here but for me, if they can't follow up promtly now, not sure if they could do it even later :dunno: . Maybe the good follow-up is really when they are at smaller scale.


  14. Hi madwarrior72, can i check if you had to pay very much more reno costs 5 yeears ago? How's the effect?

    Hmm not really leh... honestly, can't really remember the details le but paid around $36K to renovate the whole house includes, all flooring, lots of carpentry work, whole kitchen built in cabinets, stoves (my kitchen top is marble too), change all doors to designer doors, built in wardrobe, 2 toilets revamp with complete vanity top complete with shower screen and many more...but that was 5 years ago lah. I dare to say that it works out real well. So far, I've only received good comment on design and renovation from visitor. I've also manage to sell the flat at a very good price compared to others in my area on the same range of floor level. F.Y.I, I sold my flat in just 2 days at a price that is higher than our asking with only 1/2 hour of viewing time each day and not forgetting that the final buyer only did manage to buy our flat after "balloting" with other buyers that refuse to give-up... :P

    I think most important of all, you must be comfortable in the design as nevertheless, you will be the one living in the house. There will be many many suggestions by relatives and family members but these should only remain as suggestion as only you could make the decision. It may be a few thousand more expensive now but think in the way that it is for good investment. Imagine 3K more for a 5 year staying period will work out to only $50.00 / mth investment but will definately helps to fetch more should you decide to sell the flat after 5 years. I guess, good and modern renovation does play a part in today's resale market.

  15. Hmm... my current kitchen floor and dining cum living area flooring are also level to the same... dun seems to have any issues on this with HDB during my initial reno 5 years ago :D . F.Y.I, I've sold this current house and bought a resale planning to do the same flooring renovation. 1st appointment is next week. The HDB sales inspection to my current flat had already completed and the officer did not mention that this is not allow and request us to revert. All passed leh... :jammin:

    After reading all your posting, decided to contact them for a prelim quote before deciding. However, find that they seems quite reluctant to give quote 1st before meeting up (although I've already tell them my basic wishes, give them floor plan and tell them ideal concept and the rest design could be up to them). Do you guys face this as well? They keep insisting that they will give me quote when meet up. I thought as I will have do total revamp for my new home to be, the price must be in the correct range before we proceed further, if not how to gauge hur? Coz if over budget too much, further discussion will only be a waste of time correct?
