Although the rainy season is providing us with a break from Singapore’s usual humidity, it does come with its own set of problems. For starters, many homeowners are noticing an increase in the number of bugs hovering around their lights at night. If this is an issue that’s particularly frustrating for you, these solutions listed below may be able to help.
1. Changing Your Bulbs
The two factors you want to take most notice of are heat and brightness. The hotter and brighter a bulb is, the more bugs it attracts. Avoid buying bulbs with high wattage and those that use glowing filaments.
Like humans, insects can’t detect the entire spectrum of light. Colours like red, orange and yellow have wavelengths too high for them to see. Purchasing bulbs that emit yellow light will probably be your best bet -- yellow compact fluorescent lights (CFL) are perfect because they create more illumination but at a lower wattage.
Not a fan of yellow light? White LEDs are just as effective. Insects love ultraviolet (UV) light, something LEDs don’t emit, so chances are they’ll steer clear of most LED lights. However, make sure your LEDs aren’t anywhere close to 6,000 Kelvin (K) in temperature, because they’ll start to have a blue tint that bugs really love.
2. Homemade Heroes
Citronella candles have been known to chase away bugs, and they’re fairly easy to make from scratch. Simply follow these instructions, and in no time you’ll have your personal stash of candles to take out and use whenever a rainy day approaches. Place them under your lights and at entrances like windows and/or doors.
Garlic sprays are also pretty effective. All you’ll need to do is seep several close of garlic in hot water for 15 minutes then pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray it onto your bulbs every few days; when they’re turned on and heated up, it’ll emit a faint garlicky smell that drives bugs away.
3. Try Tinting
Try tinting the your windows if you really, really hate the idea of bugs flying into your home. This allows less light to shine through, and your house will appear darker from the outside that it really is, attracting less bugs than it normally would.
4. Call Pest Control
Sometimes, these bugs come from inside your home. Have pest control conduct regular checks to ensure no nests are present. Also, de-clutter once in a while. Insects love dark, secluded corners which can be eliminated if you keep your home mess free. -

Hi, from my experience, I remembered that I have some sort of milestone payment many years ago and it was something similar that the first and the last payments are about ~10% while the middle payments are a bit more.
Back then, I thought that it was normal. What were your concerns, perhaps do you mind sharing?

To all who are driving out there, beware of the new speed camera deployed along Braddell towards Lornie Road, lamppost 120, overhead bridge. Speed limit 70km/h.
Don't get mistaken by another speed camera, which is deployed a little further ahead, near Mediacorp Singapore, along Lornie Road overhead bridge. This is quite obvious and usual for some drivers who travel there quite often, as you can see the TP holding the speed camera and standing mid-bridge wearing his white uniform.
The TP holding the speed camera along the Braddell Road overhead bridge isnt obvious, he is hiding at the left hand side of the bridge, facing towards Lornie Road and getting ready for any vehicle who zoom past him across the bridge and going up a gentle slope. Please take note and do not get caught by his disguise, thinking that no speed camera is being deployed there as there are already a speed camera deployed ahead.

Those are the 2 latest models which are expected to be shipped by Spring (early March) and it is currently not available here in Singapore yet and i am intending to order them in advance. If you are interested in ordering them as well, we can do it together to save some shipping costs.

My brother have had a very bad experience with them and this is the story:
My brother aircon was 8 years old and the compressor produced some noise whenever they switched on the aircon. One day, he was approached by serviceman A to look at the problem. He asked them to check the aircon compressor and serviceman A said that he need to change the rubber belts in the compressor because of wear and tear. Serviceman quoted him $220 for the change. My brother didnt take up the offer that day.
On another day, he was approached by serviceman B and asked if they need aircon services and my brother asked him to take a look. Serviceman B diagnosed that it is not the rubber belt that needs to be replaced, but its some other parts and he take a lot on the technical stuffs to my brother and claiming that he was the chief engineer of his company, ensuring my brother that he can trust him. So, my brother trust his diagnostics and asked him to give him a quotation. Surprisingly, when my brother looked at the invoice, serviceman B is from the same company as serviceman A and the quotation was $380! My brother told him about serviceman A and serviceman B quickly changed his mind and state that probably changing the rubber belts would solve the problem and agreed to do it at $220 instead. My brother proceed to pay him $220 to do the job.
The next day after the job was done, my brother found that the aircon is not blowing out cold air anymore and asked him to look at it again. Serviceman B came back and said that the gas leak and need to top up $50 to top up the gas for the aircon. He also said that there might be a leak somewhere in the piping and they will need to top up $50 every month to top up the gas. Alternatively, he can pay him $300 to check all piping to identify the leaks and $400 to resolve the leak problem or if it cannot be resolve, nothing can be done and my brother still has to top up $50 every month to top up gas.
My brother told serviceman B that they have no problem at all before he change the rubber belts and the aircon was working fine. Serviceman denied that it is his fault and said that the leak might already be there and it is not because the gas leaked when he changed the rubber belts.
My brother pay $220 to create more problem? Sounds ludicrous isnt it? Either pay a huge sum of money to resolve the problem or upkeep $50 every month to top up gas? Sounds ridiculous isnt it? I hope home owners will be more prudent or think twice before engaging aircon services from them.
