  2. I have 3 places of hairline cracks in my wall after 1 year my apartment is completed. Should I call the building contractor to patch it up? Or, should I leave it like that? Will it cause any problem or bigger crack in the future if I leave it?

How long is the usual warranty for a new private apartment? I didn't see any warranty statement in the contract. Thanks.

There is a 1 year of defect period given by the contractor.

  3. Hi there,

I've got a problem with my toilet drain. Its basically clogged and the water goes down really slowly.

I was wondering how much would it cost generally to unclog it?

Just want to know the average price so that I won't be overcharged.

    Thanks!

Buy a bottle of the bleach (green Bottle cheaper) and pour half

the bottle in. Wait for 1 hr to 2 hr and you will able to see the effect.

  4. These seals have lasted me 16 years now. Apparently the rubber seals are hardened due to wear and tear and climate outside my house.

I was searching around to buy some of these rubber seals for the windows so I can replace them with it now.

When raining it leaks into my house and the rubber is no longer as it used to be.

Can anyone tell me where I can get the rubber seals for HDB Windows?

    Many Thanks.

    Best Regards

There are many types of rubber seal profile.

It is the best if you can cut out a bit for sample or

it will be very hard to buy the seal.

  5. I have done my home renovation recently (2 months) and have build a study room by adding 2 walls and I'm having issue with the crack lines appearing on the walls. The painters have come and done a second round of painting but after 2 weeks the crack lines appear again. Anyone know which paint is good to cover crack lines.

Wait for at least 1 mth before doing the repair, or

use a flexible type of putty to patch it and paint over, or

embed a fine fiber netting across the crack and paint it.

    This will solve the problem.

  6. Hi there,

  7. Normally they will patch up the cracks with putty.

You can call Mak - 9765 7193 to recomment.

Does anyone here know of a good plasterer who can patch up cracks in a plastered wall? The current section has spalled and i would like for that section to be replaced and redone. Thanks.

  8. This maybe the water stain mark. Let it ventilate for a few days and

    see how is the condition.

ian sen hin's anti stain super bright & glossy 600x600 cream homogeneous floor tiles

    after removing protection cardboard ,

my cream homogeneous tiles-- the borders got dark shadows when viewed standing at an angle, both in e day & night

anyone knows how to remove greyish borders on cream homogeneous floor tiles?

buffing/polishing can remove? if polishing can remove, will these borders re-appear later ?

    what caused these grey borders?

    water stain/marks?

anyone faced same problems with theer homo floor tiles?

  9. By the way this is not the dust stain.

By right the tiles did to do some treatment before installing

    hmm bro,

my reno is still on-going and will only be completed this week. i'll comment further after my HO to see if i still see any dust stains or whatsoever.

but sure is scary to learn this :(

  10. you can apply a sealer over the top to enhance the colour back.

    bro seashell,

i dunno how bad ur problem is from ur pic, but here's mine to share (taken last evening):

as u can see here, it is very dusty as the reno works r still ongoing. e tiles had been laid for ~3weeks

    IMG_2832.jpg

i used water to try to rinse the dusts and it seems 'ok' to me. though e floor is not totally dry, but can still see tat dusts aint sticking to it etc

  11. actually I was asking why his quote is more expensive than others, and that was what he tells me.

He is using epoxy for grout. He does waterproofing bottom, top before lay. And then after lay waterproof one more time. His quote is 21k for around 700sqft of marble flooring including skirting.

Hmm... the actual steps should be 1: seal the marble bottom and the 4 sides with sealer.

2: After laying the marble, they will do the grout.

    3. After the grout was done, they will polish the marble with wax or epoxy.

(If they using epoxy to polish there is no need to apply another waterproofing layer

on top but if they are to waterproof the marble top, make sure the sealer hv oil

proofing effect otherwise wax is able to minimize the water from going into the marble.

For 700 sqft, I can checkout the market price for you. By the way hv u bought the marble? coz I hv a contractor who have left over marble slabs from a prestige Condo and can offer at a good price, they also do installation.
