  1. We bought the rug from Robinsons a couple of sales ago. Sorry, don't remember the price anymore. Probably fifty-ish?
  2. Hi NeiX5, So far so good. The deckings are holding up. No sign of deterioration from the constant exposure to water/moisture. The bottom of the decks do get dirty and require occasional scrubbing/hosing.
  3. Thanks samgalz. Nah, I don't work from home . That would be nice. Be close to my mom-to-be wifey. The worktop we bought is Numerar oak. It's $225, 246 cm long and weights 44kg! Ikea has it in different solid wood, lengths and colours. The legs are Vika Moliden, $19 each. Do check them out! Ah, truly a very generous offer. Thanks so much. May just take you up on that . Gum xia Gum xia Thanks! Some info about the table above . Bought the light for $460 (Retails at $515) @ Vlux Lighting Pte Ltd 722 Geylang Road, Singapore 389633 6742 7288‎ Thanks!!!
  4. Thanks patsy_sg. Yup, was in a similar situation. Way too many books. Had to give many away . Bought the plants from Ikea actually. Need to find some time to go down to Far East. Will probably make a trip there soon. Got a few more to pick up. Love having greens in the house. Yes, the bookshelves are from Ikea. Billy bookcases. If you have heavy books, stick with the 40 cm one. It's pretty sturdy. With a few easy modification, it's just as good as custom built. Saved a bundle going this route. The study table was a DIY project. We bought an Oak kitchen countertop and legs from Ikea and put them together. Heavy and super sturdy.
  5. STUDY ROOM (cum Office - continued) Oak kitchen counter top turned study table View of dining area/kitchen
  6. Be productive, get things done; Its our STUDY ROOM (cum Office) Views from the dining area
  7. Its just a small piece of granite. Similar to the ones used in the kitchen So far no problem with the water pressure. Thanks! Yes, its a mirror cabinet with lighting above and below. It was custom built by our carpenter/contractor.
  8. At first, I found it odd too. Haha LOL. Yes its kinda pricey but like I mentioned before, I have a real soft spot for knives. Nothing like doing food prep with good knives (plus, its a whole lot safer). And buying good knives is really an investment. Only fitting to have a good storage solution for those knives. Treat them well, and they should be able to last a really long time. Hahaha. Make sure the missus doesn't read this blog...
  9. Glad I could be of help. Big Thanks everyone! I think its impervious to pee too. Thanks! Yes, they are Clipsal NEO Metro series. Don't know the exact cost as they were purchased by our trusty contractor. I have however, quotes from Chan Huat @ Balestier; 1G1W - $18.85 2G1W - $34.15 3G1W - $47.10 4G1W - $63.60 Bell Push - $17.70 Telephone - $18.85 TV Socket - $18.85 2G Data & Tel - $47.10 Single Socket - $18.30 Double Socket - $28.30 Heater - $28.30 Dimmer - $164.80 Yes, this particular WMF knife block comes sans knives. I think its about $100++. Thanks joseeng! Yes, that's the water heater switch outside the MBR toilet. For the heater switch, the LED is turned on when its in the ON position. For the rest of the switches, the reverse is true.
  10. Not really. The wood have been specially treated. Thanks! I believe we bought it from Robinsons. Yup, its from our favorite store IKEA! Bjursta bench. We'll be making custom cushions for the benches to match the chairs. Our contractor has specially treated them so I guess its pretty low maintenance. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!
  11. Hello guests, the bathroom is this way... Guest Bathroom Granite vanity top, cabinet and (tiny) basin... (As aside, really difficult taking these shots due to constraint space. Sorry about the absence of right angles... ) Shower area with Chengal wood decking
  12. MBR Bathroom (...continued) Shower area... Chengal wood decking... More coming soon
  13. Hi folks, couple of updates; Our MBR bathroom Frosted glass door replaced the original bathroom door. This door swings outward. As explained earlier in the blog, swinging the door inwards causes major space issues. We're so happy with this workaround. With the door opened... Our oversized basin. Great for a careless splasher like me . Mirror/cabinet with backlighting. Other sources of lighting provided by overhead cove lighting.
  14. Big thanks! More pics coming soon... Thanks very much. We're super excited about becoming parents! Left to the fridge is a full height larder unit where we store all our dry food stuff. As for the counter top, we went with granite. We use (abuse) the kitchen quite a bit, so we needed something sturdy . It's a Mitsubishi fridge; model MR-V50X. Mitsubishi gets top marks for all things refrigeration. We went with Mitsubishi air-conditioning too, and we're loving it!
