  5. hi, nice concept!

I'm interested to see how your bicycle is stored. Can you share where you bought the device and the price? And can show a better pic?

    Thanks!!

    minoura%20bike%20tower%2005.jpg

It's Minoura 2 bike tower, I bought it 3 years back, should be $120-150 from local bike store.

No drilling required, spring-loaded tower, floor to ceiling.

Do take note of maximum ceiling height limit before purchase.

    Good luck!

  6. you have cement floors too! did you leave it raw or did you apply a layer of sealant?

noticed your kitchen is tiled..did you tile it or it was left untouched during reno?

i like your subway tiles..was hoping to do that as well but was told it would be costly and time consuming to lay the tiles one by one..

Hi Lilithfiend, I applied copon polyurethane on the floor as I wanted a transparent and matte sealant.

But it seems to be peeling out like wax right now, so I may have to reapply another layer when I'm free.

Kitchen was newly tiled as we needed a heavy duty flooring.

Subway tiles and hexagonal mosiac tiles were both very costly, but we loved it too much to not do them.

Just visited your blog, did you apply 108 on your flooring?

Cos, there's also 107, which I'm considering right now, penetrating sealant.

  7. Hi Duckie, Welcome to RT. Nice place you have :D

I saw your quote for the "All windows, including installation: $1800" did you do grills? Cause I am about to do my house windows but ex sia the windows.

Yes, it includes grille and window.

I'll send you the contact and you decide.

  8. i may not be the best but i always look out for small details.

so contractor cannot bluff me :)

in any case, u not afraid the pans collect dust?

We cook every day, other pots and pans that are not used very often are kept in the cabinet.

We thought about it as well.

  9. hihi! Nice place you have! :)

is that the bench from helping hands? i checked their website but couldn't find a one seater. I saw in Malacca that 2 seaters, similar to what you have are around 1.2k RM.

saw u have a shoe rack at the back of your door, can share where u got it? :)

I got it from Helping Hand, $290. I love the raw-ness of the bench, it's heavy heavy teak wood.

Every piece is unique, so if you're not hard-up for time, just wait for every of their shipment and decide.

Shoe rack is from USA, Container Store, currently my favourite shop in States.

Forgot the brand, it's 36 pair over door shoe rack, at the price of US$30, S$40.

    Good luck!

  10. Love what you've done to your place!! Very ikea-ish!!

Can see that you have already made preparations for little ones with your kiddy sink!

Love the whole pine wood on white look you have for the whole house. No fish tank for the new place? If you're the same namesake over at AQ. haha

    AQ!

Haha, I'm setting up a vivarium once I get my wedding done in oct.

So tiring, house and wedding, and then kids soon.

Gone are the days of having all the time to myself and the fish tanks.

  12. The condition of the flat is original as it's only 2nd hand.
Here are the floorplan of before and after.
As my fiance and I are the only occupant, we decided to hack down the common room to make our living room BIGGER.

  13. Location: Tampines 3 room flat, resale

    Age of structure: 20+

In a nutshell, we collected keys in may 2010, renovation took 2-3 months.

Complete makeover of the entire house.

Me and my fiance has stayed in the place for almost a month and are lovin' it.

In the next few days or weeks, I'll breakdown all the process and purchases in the subsequent posts of our renovation log.

  14. You are correct. 1st first shop I went to & saw the welding portion of the bracket, errr, proceeded to 2nd shop, showed me the similar, the 3rd shop, also the same! I asked for any more "tok kong" one, shop owner said it is all like that, many ppl buy and this is specially made by factory in Singapore. No choice, just bought 2 sets.

If U too big, fan will wobble at higher speed. I tested mine ok. Condemned the stupid mounting ! I don't understand why Everjoint does sell the bracket & bolts, goods likely to be brought in fm malaysia, no wonder much cheaper than the KDK agent.....

My bad about the u hook.

Thanks for the photos you posted, bro

Very useful for people who need hooks.

  15. Who is suppose to install fan? The shop u purchase from or your own contractor? Still must buy bracket outside? Sounds dumb lei. It is like your sell fried rice without frying it. Haha!

Correction: It's like buying take-away fried rice with your own container rather than paying extra $0.20 for their container. ;)

You can use existing U-hook/bracket on your ceiling rather than buying another, which is why U-hook/bracket is optional.

If your house is undergoing renovation, it is more cost-effective to ask your contractor to install for you, for free or a minimal fee.

However, your contractor need to run the electrical wiring for you as well, which not all contractor are eletrician-trained.
