  1. the original ones can buy where huh? until now i still haven't see. or is it cos i only been going to neighbourhood shops and sheng siong.

i haven't tried yet, but planning to. err, see if i can reach the ceiling or not, if cannot, then it becomes the hubby's job. :sport-smiley-004:

original ones i think NTUC should sell it..

the dust in the place is incredible..like flour. no idea how many times we'll have to vacuum before it finally feels clean...good time to buy the irobot..

Ger, we checked our place yesterday and realized windows **** and kitchen were up (no grilles yet). The living hall ones were badly scratched, took some picts of it.. Will try to post it tonight.

get them to replace the scratched ones..heng ours no scratches..

  2. Why change project manager? what happen? but all in all, good to hear u going to hv HO soon!

long storyyy... :( but in a nutshell, she MIA for three days cannot contact. so i contacted her manager who told me they also cannot contact her. in the end, her manager took over our project. apparently, she has been let go after this saga.

  3. haha, cos mine more like DIY reno, tt's y no cleaning included. i go buy the $1 pack from Sheng Siong. Daiso also got. so still alright la. hehe. its good also for picking up hair & in future, my doggies' fur. think next time i'll have a cupboard full of magic wipe refills. :P

Good good! At least you can start planing and move in before 7th month!!!

Oh the wipes comes in OEM version which is not too bad but need to use 2 sheets in stead of 1 to achieve the same dust wipe, but **** cheap. They have the wet oem version which works pretty okie to take surface dusting. If your place is very dusty, You can use the wet oem version to clean the walls and dry for cupboards to clean up as much dust as possible. Then use the original magic clean wipes to do the final cleaning.

yea i used the imitation ones before..but always feel not as good as the real thing. but i suppose for large-scale usage, cannot hiam la since the original one is so pricey..do you guys magic clean the ceilings too?

  4. wooo... good to know its going well! 28 july only 16 days away. hehe.

first round of cleaning, must go get the magic wiper, its like my favourite tool now, i use the wet & dry wipes and go up & down the walls to remove dust. hehehe, like that i no need climb stools to clean the top areas.

yep, only 16 days away..hopefully can keep within that timeline..

the first round of cleaning is done by the contractor, not by us..our cleaning starts after HO i guess..not looking forward to that part! lol..

like that you must use alot of those wipes right? they're pricey! :P

  5. how's the reno progress?

It's progressing well, i think :D . We finally have a targeted handover date: 28 July.

We changed our project manager last week..the previous one was disappointing. Our new PM is more zhai and we feel more at ease, no need to think so much about every nook and cranny of our reno to ensure nothing is left out.

What's been done over the past week:

    - Windows have been replaced

    - Bedroom doors have been installed

    - Aircon trunking have been rectified

    - False ceiling and other box up have been completed

    - Hob, hood & oven have been delivered

    - Measurements for main door + utility room door taken

    To be done this week:

    - Window grilles up on Tues

    - Painting starts on Tues

    - Carpentry in on Fri

    - First round of cleaning

    Pictures coming up shortly..

  6. hdb reno permit is supposed to be free. tell your contractor to waive it if he's trying to charge u for it.

    From HDB website:

HDB does not charge any fee for the processing of the permit. The renovation permit will be issued free to the flat owner, for your own record.

  7. i've seen the white fridge.. i like it alot... but my husband insist on getting the silver one..

btw.. here's the tap pic as promised!!

    cf508495.jpg

hey, your water flows directly into the hole! mine is v. near the wall leh. sigh, i guess i just have to live with it. thanks for taking the effort to take photo of your tap.. :D

  8. rec'd a sms yesterday late afternoon from Edmund: "If u are going up the unit tonite, please remove your shoes cos wash the whole unit already." WOOHOO~!

Carpentry work is coming in today or tommorrow. then will measure granite top and after that is installed, the measurement of glass backsplash will be done. my aircon will come to do final installation on 20/7 and afterwhich Edmund will get painter to do final round of painting.

    the end is nearing.....

sam, very impressed by edmund's speed!! you started later than me, did more things than me and already finishing before me...you must be really excited to move in! congrats in advance.. :)

  9. yes... we're happy shifting and unpacking.. the back is aching madly...

guess what.. we've got our first welcome gifts from the neighbours above (dunno which floor) .. they threw they used pad with their stains on it out of their window and it landed on my aircon condenser... arghhhh!!!

when i read your first line, i thought "wah, your neighbours so nice.." then...... i read your second line. omg, **** gross!! :bleah:

  10. haha, one bottle of dettol and one bottle of perfume. :X

i wasn't around when they did the trunking. my supervising uncle got tell them abt the gaps, but they nv fix it. then after the house all done up alr, i did one round checking of the entire house and paste notes all over the house, and Uncle S got the aircon ppl to come down and seal the gaps up!

ok now's my turn to go around pasting post its to mark out problem trunking to be rectified...why can't they just do it once and do it properly? :bangwall:

This ppl really no sense of responsibility... How can they just pee like that..Disgusting lor!

ya i know!! i was quite mad..the worst part is we don't know who did it. could be the aircon people, could be the debris people. obviously none of them are going to own up.

Sorry, didn't went down your place yesterday. Today went down with the electricians to take a look on your air-con. Problem solved, although is not my problem. Now your air-con is working, u need to go and test the coldness. :P Had clean up your place before leaving. Found that your rubbish chute is dropping out, need to ask your contractor to fix it, don't just use silicone to secure it.

Also if u went up, try to tape the discharge hole and the water passageway at your cement motar base, so that stones, dirt, etc won't go in. Didn't bring masking tape with me today, if not will help u do it.

hi jaskel, thanks again for your help! as mentioned last night, we went up before seeing your post. tested the a/c and works liao..thank you! one less problem to think about.. also, thanks for sweeping our floors for us.. :P will tell my contractor about the chute and the water outlets..kam sia again! dunno what we would do without your advice & help..

  11. To shop from the United States, I've been using a free package forwarding service from Viaddress.com for a few months now, and I'm quite satisfied with them... I used them to shop on Amazon.com and Ebay.com and it works great!

The registration is free and they provide you with a personal US address that you can use to shop from any US merchant and have Viaddress forward your packages to your country.

If the US merchant does not accept international credit cards, Viaddress can buy the products for you, with no commission fees, and then forward the packages to you. Their prices are very competitive; u can log unto their website to see their price comparison chart.

wow digging up three different old threads to "share" your find..very subtle.

  12. welcome to RT! good location you've got there.. :)

i'd bring down BR2 and the walls between the kitchen & living if i were u, have an open kitchen and put an island right in the middle of the space..you'd be one of the few who have enough space for an island in a HDB flat!

anyway, good luck with the reno!

  13. wah, they like this dirty ur toilet!

ya, aircon, we must make sure we around so they will not do a sloppy work.

ya we also wanted to be around..unfortunately we had no idea the installation would take one whole day.

that was pee btw...just realised i didn't state it clearly in my first post.

wah, i think u need one entire bottle of dettol for that. *faints*

my aircon ppl also did so many gaps in the trunking. so i got them to come back and seal it up! then got my contractor uncle to get his workers to paint my trunking in the same colours of the wall in that room.

haha pinktini..no la one bottle of dettol would be too much..i don't like the smell of dettol...eughhh.

oh your aircon trunking oso alot of gaps ah? were u around when they did the trunking?

Hi Lilithfiend, thank you for comforting...aiyah why these works dont do a good job so that they dun have to do double works? 8|

ya i also ask myself many times the same question. :bangwall: nvm, already arranged for them to come down friday to rectify everything..

  14. Hi Lilithfiend, waw...the contractor from creation is so poor in working attitude ah...oh no....I engage them too! :dribbl

I will make sure that they are careful but who can tell when we turn our back...aiyah..yah....

Renovation work is really 'san noa zhin' lor. :bangwall:

hi pcomaster, depends on the installers you get la..maybe yours will be better? anyway, creation have agreed to come down and rectify the trunking..we will have to be there for this. now trying to get them to do it this saturday...

one more thing i left out, we couldn't test the aircon after it was installed cos electricity kept tripping. no idea why..jaskel said he would go down and have a look today. the installers probably didn't even test it otherwise they would have told us that the electricity trips! argh.

  15. had a very bad weekend. i bought a 3M hook which can hold up to 2kg weight. hung up a clock my mum gave to me and 3 hours later, it came crashing down, it dented my new dustbin, my parquet flooring and broke into pieces.

tried to salvage it using epoxy glue but the cracks are too obvious. its a precious gift from mum and now i really don't know where to find it anymore!! all i know is she got it from thailand years ago and liked it a lot. :(:(:(

can't find any custom hand-painted porcelain clock makers here. seems like they're mostly in the US or UK. dunno how to open mouth and tell mum about it. sigh.. why i so suay? :~

after you put up the 3M, did u leave it there to "stew" for a bit? IIRC, need to do that before you hang anything on it...
