  1. finally caught up reading all the threads after the last post i made. ok, think i have a 2nd installation some time last quarter this year. perhaps that's why. hope you got yr discount or waiver man.. again, we see the ugly side of ppl. how can the seller be so inconsiderate one!!!!! i seen mine share during my reno but this time is some selfish neighbours in my block who keep complaining bout noise. chill chill bro.. take the model no or anything and try your luck with some other tiles shop ya my white tiles for awhile also no stock, but alas, it was found in some other tile shop. although, my id in the end managed to stunt and got the tiles from the original shop. but my point is, ya.. some other tile shop may have it ya..
  2. you're welcome. i saved from my own purchases too. mutually beneficial. haha yea, look ard. there are some really hot favorites contractor here
  3. floppy? frm the grp buy? haha... is been awhile huh! will sure be a busy busy period once you're back from your holidays! welcome to tblog and happy reno-ing ya
  4. yes yes yes.. spotted this lil devil awhile in a interior magazine.. really minimalism, really invidualistic, really set eyes seeing, set mouth talking BUY IT! haha
  5. DAY: WE'RE ALMOST THERE certain degree of narcissism i must admit, when you are sitting solitary, by the almost cantilevered island, feeling the spot light above you flirting to the psychedelic tunes of Florence + The Machine "You're Got The Love" XX remix, while you engulf all the delightful panoramic visuals your eyes can lay eyes to. a smile, a grin, a smirked released almost discreetly careful not to disturb this; this moment, this now. yes, narcissim on a grander scale, yes, the day we're almost there, yes, I've got the love to share
  6. eh, Mapei's Keraset lei.... very familar lei... i usually see it in full pallets and more. hahaha
  7. huh??? more like bukit batok / jurong to bukit panjang only lei since when i stayed in punggol? hahaha hey, you "sound" better already. anywayz, gd luck ya for the meeting later! hope to hear gd news from you after your meeting
  8. yes, weigh your options carefully. all boils down to the cadence of the later meeting. if the meeting goes smoothly, i think rightfully there should be some reduction la. since afterall a service shortfall, expectations not met ma. yes, what doesnt kill us makes us stronger. JIA YOU! yes, communication very impt between parties. and must be the case where both parties understand thoroughly. the sort of you think, i thought? then who is gonna confirm right no doubt is such a joyous and happy thing to see the house renovated to your liking, equally it is a painful process when you need to make sure it happens to renovate to your liking. so on going down to the flat daily, i agree to go down daily to new place after work if possible. at least, any miscommunication or hippcups, it may still be rectified before the next work goes on it. by then, it may be too late to rectify. a few occasions we went down, we all spotted something that ought to be taken care off immediately. last but not least, going down daily after work, at the very least, you make sure that the door is locked, lights are off etc.. that few occasions we were there, we had to switch off lights! imagine it was on the 24/7! once, we even spotted the key to the padlock at the doorstep! and mind you, our ovens, microwave, fridge, hob, hood are all inside and yet to install! id investigated and found out that the laminate sub-con actually dropped the key. kauz... so another point to bring up is to use number lock. is better.
  9. yes, i agree that owners should not be telling id or contractor that they are not in a rush to move in. cook up a story e.g wedding dinner / auspicious date for praying initiation etc.. and therefore you need to move in by when and when and ask them to stick to it. but then again, i do understand the move by saying not in a rush cause we do not want the quality of work to be compromised. Then perhaps, they will be nice enough to do up the things nicely with more efforts. i guess it is really a double edge sword that really require new owners like us to judge if we should tell the id or contractor we are in a rush or not to move in. therefore, when coming to choose id or contactor, the chemistry really must be there i feel i would really suggest that due to all these delays, reduction in the reno amt should be administered WITHOUT compromising the quality of works and the final said HO date in the meeting later. Also, i suggest trying to a 3rd party friend or friend's friend who is in the interior design biz to help inspect the quality of works after the HO. as new owner like you all, i can really imagine how disappointing the situation is. but the consolation if any, is thankfully, you two are really not in a rush to take over the flat. is your new place afterall, a new beginning for you two, the fault is with the contracter not the flat. so however angry or irritated, be happy, be thankful for the new unit that belongs to you two instead hope everything will run smoothly for you henceforth ya. and no problem, RT is definitely a platform for you to cringe, whine or praise!
  10. speaking of which, d a m n haben buy my philip vacuum cleaner! haha then i can only hope that the paint is nippon nippon and not nippon matex cause i believe i wont be in time to see the actual paint. but so far with my id, yet to see any short changed of materials la. cross my fingers! coming soon coming soon... paying the reno bills is already causing me internal hemorrhage, now i have to even lose a kidney? hahaha thank you for your kind words patsy. is a relieved to know that our design together with id is turning out fine and close to the 3ds drawings. not to worry bout the bench, to divert the body aches away, we are getting a really comfortable sitting cushion from muji to rest the bottom and most important of all, good food!
  11. dude.. sorry to hear that. hope the new capenter works on godspeed and deliver yr carpentry asap. look on the bright side, perhaps tat earlier carpenter really not meant to be? and if he was still the one doing, maybe more problems. everything happen for a reason ya but we just have to look at the brigher side.
  12. first image seems to be mosaic more than tiles and mosaics cost much more. also, depending how heavy is your cooking, you may experience more dirty grouting between the mosaics and more since mosaic feature has more grouting lines than tiles. worse if cooking is darker dirtier grouting lines compare to the rest. unless u go epoxy based grouting materials instead of normal cement based grouting. so ya, food for thought. second image looks fine like tis. erm.. if you go black grouting, you may as well go with a black paint. get wat i mean? hahaha. my view la but you're right bout not having top hung cabinets and the wall being a feature wall.
  13. to see yr hubby pink bottom?? IS OK! I NEVER WANT TO KNOW ALSO! PERIOD. hahahaha
  14. yr hubby's pink fetish is getting out of hand? to hit the buttock until all pink and rosy? wahahahahah
  15. agreed. the lush lush green green is making my eyes green green with envy. tell hubby to go traditional coffee cause that is always the best taste. so buy him a socks will do. hahaha don't worry.. can do as professionally as Christie's aunction kind too. ha
  16. actually make it 4 power points. cause the lower part of the wall behind the island, there's 2 default powerpoints too. hmm.. but we didnt want wires running everywhere and worse someone tripping over dinner, so planted those 2 below the island. so tat would mean i need 2 electric bbq grills, 2 teppanyakis, 2 sandwich makers, 2 waffle makers, 2 popcorn machines. haaha ya.. you're really speeding cause that liner seems incoherent liao. ha we wanna 3 to flank the dining table but 2 to give it a more individualistic feeling - one for missus and one for me. the bench also to give a more individualistic feel to it - for the guests. hahaha. selfishly evil yes, my wife is prepared to give away 2 arms for the ss bench too. she said that way can avoid doing the dishes too. - -|||
  17. hmmm issit the case? I called opennet and they are quite prompt lei. registered me on the spot and said will keep me informed bout the next installation. funny. but hope you get their attention soon ya i can imagine how frustrating when no one gets back to you
  18. DALA!!! i c that there's no more unsightly pipings too! haha
  19. hanah! will buy the stainless steel bench OK! hahaha otherwise, think the few of you all will boycott my blog man. ha you should see him grinning from ear to ear when he said he's right about choosing that dining lighting man! then when i was sharing with him my rectification works, he said he wasnt listening cause he was looking at the island! kaoz haha.. ok ok kudos to him for making a trip down with us to lightcraft on a weekend. kudos to wife too who googled hard enough to spot lightcraft too. duly noted. tomorrow second coat of paint. will make sure i spot the ICI white paint. otherwise, i make sure ID will get 10 x jia latz jia latz. hahaha ok ok, done deal. haha tks butter! beige dining chair? think i got the lobang GH from you mama anyway. and yes, so happened I dropped by GH today and bought my 2 dining chairs point to note, the same chair at Red Apple? they are selling at $198! I bought at $50 and that's inclusive of GST.
  20. yea.. is confirmed. just met ID at our place to go through rectification works and he forbids us to paint grey! he said don't spoil his work and he laughed. i d i o t so the walls will remain white.
  21. the last i remember asking from the shops.. yes, it is made in PRC. and for that matter, think most of the common WCs we are seeing are mostly made there. isnt it?
  22. man.... the poisoning is becoming unbearable. ha hi, is a customised lighting available at lightcraft $380 for the 4ft lighting with 2 spots and 1 T5 and wires another $15 for IC switch all before GST thank you titananx for your kind words! now i'm fretting over if i should give the wall behind a splash of grey together with the kitchen but that would mean painting the beam across grey too. am afraid the white lighting and the grey beam across would really clash then. cause at current, all is white and the visual of the white lighting cutting across the white beam is kept to the minimum. wat u think?
  23. don't say that dude... guess we score major points in different areas of the house i suppose. grass is always greener on the other side. the brandt oven microwave? "heart pain pain" buy up la like my wife always comment, "be the beautiful graceful swan above the water, but below the water.... wading like mad." HA same here.. we have 2 rooms for now that is yet to done up. but guess priorities would be given to the games room. hee
  24. thank you for looking through my blog. don't need silent.. loud loud bang bang on my blog is fine with me. ha! well, you've come to this stage so am sure you're doing great with your contractor and not forgetting, you have taste. *wink wink nudge nudge* haha yeap, really exciting times huh. the reality of RT also means you are required to pose more pics of your house! haha
