  1. Bathroom Ventilation Fan

Have bought the ventilation fan for our bathroom - KDK 20WHA. Thanks to Stryke for sharing!

    PP-15WHA.gif

    • Electric shutter series
    • High pressure exhaust type
    • Window mounting
    • Single speed
    • High performance propeller fan
    • Air volume = 445 m3/h
Purchased from Choo Chiang Marketing @ Rowell, $118 (excl. GST)

Is this any good? I somehow feel that it is noisy to have one in the bathroom. How much is it?

    Cheers.

  2. yes indeed, though 3m is pocket change compared to the contractual sum of 16m. anyway, i'm certain rafa has got a job lined up for him at inter. if only this news had come earlier, then we might have had a shot at mourinho.

hiddink would be a good choice, though i doubt we'll get him. the odds are hodgson or MON, both of which don't excite me much.

Hey sis fiend, Benitez is a good coach and his departure is not going to make Liverpool a favourite next season. You have to get rid of those rubbish players and bring in quality players first before you can think about Liverpool giving another shot at top 4.

  3. Hi ngunadi! Can help ask yr friend the address where he bought u the wc, i'm interested, especially those "big" ones, 4-5', solid tube. PM me, thank a lot. Want to test to see if can break "negative energies". Saw some in stationery shops but look not grand, more like "toys".

Have been in Japan & Taiwan, saw many of these, saw some tubes arranged in "one row". Saw some Japanese temples hang such at corners of roof below. Taiwanese's very "cute", colorful as well. Too bad did not buy.

    Brother bepgof,

Try chinatown, I think is pagoda street if the spelling is correct.

Been looking around for a metallic statue. Any idea where to get one? Or any factory that do custom made at a good price?

    Thanks.

    Cheers.

  4. haha u both so cute..i guess reno takes longer than most of us would imagine. before i started our reno, i thought we could move in end of may. what a joke.

hey england, long time no see! yes i got my much awaited approval, thanks. yep will definitely put up pics when we visit the house this weekend. heard that all walls that are to be hacked have been hacked. when are you starting your t-blog btw ah?

Can look for Pauline, she served us quite well.

    Sis fiend,

Long time no see too. Will england bring the cup home this time?

My T-blog will probably take a long while becoz of time constraint. Unlike you, I am not that efficient in getting things done in supersonic speed. Admire your energy level though.

Have a good weekend snapping away, ha!

    Cheers.

  5. sorry, search engine is limited in knowledge on this. :D

i took some EDL, some Jennings and some Greenlam's laminates. all almost the same lah. Formica is the most expensive lor so if u hv the budget u can go for it, if not the rest are also jus fine. i dun rmb 2mm for EDL but maybe i forgot. it's better to check with their catalogue. I did rmb seeing 1.8mm...IIRC.

but according to some old birds in RT, the thicker the laminates the less chance of waviness....

England: EDL is the brand for laminates.

    Hey champion, got it. Thanks.

Do you ask your ID for the specific brand of laminates? Or there's a specific brand that your ID is using for all reno projects? El Nino seems to tell the Yeak chief that the brand he wants for his kitchen cabinets. Which is the one that is commonly used? The conclusion is the thicker the laminates, the better it is able to prevent warping?

    Have a good weekend!

    Cheers.

  6. My RT blog

Yup.. read with an open mind.. u can decid for yourself..

Well...you can read and gather a lot from the forum but do remember that the forum serves as a platform for people to voice their concerns and display their trophy renovation. Ultimately, you will still have to 'shop' for contractors and get a feel after talking to them to decide if you want to engage his/her service.

Popular contractors/IDs are in demand everyday. Having said that, it boils down to luck whether you are able to engage the popular ones or not. You have good luck if you are able to engage a popular contractor/ID. You have better than good luck if you are to get a popular contractor/ID who is going all out to satisfy your requirements bearing in mind that these popular ones run on a busy schedule daily.

I always look at some houses with envy especially those done up 'swee swee'. Then again, I also always remind myself it is sometimes down to luck if your house is done up immaculately and so I manage my expectation realistically. In other words, we as consumers can exercise our right but only up to a certain extent and the same applies to contractors. If a contractor/ID is out to cheat your hard earned cash, he/she can cheat up to a certain extent.

Since this thread is about ID Note, we shall confine our discussion to ID Note only. I have heard nothing about ID Note running away with deposits placed with the company, neither have I heard about the company leaving owners stranded with a half done job. As for brother daydream encounter with ID Note, I can only say that ID Note has done the honourable act by returning the money to brother daydreamer tells us all that the company is in for a long haul. The company can choose to play 'gangster' and delay returning the money and ultimately, closes the company and set up another. Easy, right? Then again, I do come across people paying a large sum of cash in a biz transaction but that was in China and you pay to the boss for crying out loud.

Life is full of randomness; sometimes good luck, sometimes bad luck.

    Cheers.

    Using Corian Antartica Solid Top.

Oh man, this kitchen top is nice.

  8....u are sharp! Indeed, im using EDL new edging laminates! Maybe im the first 2 coz i went to their showroom in March.

i love the contrasting look it gives. So sleek and clean cut hor. :dribble:

i think its more costly then normal but i managed to convince Mr Yeak to give me at normal price. :sport-smiley-004:

ur cabinets are white as well?

What in the world is EDL?

  9. Zelly zelly: More teasers to come! I very shy to put up the almost completed jobs coz havent clean yet. :D

Samy jie: U able to response at night also. U are really like batman wor...or shd i say batgal?

Doing painting touch up and 2nd round cleaning next week! HO and World Cup so close! Arghhh...i think im gna succumb and sign up for the World Cup! :P

I cant make out from your sneak peek. Why cant you shoot the entire piece? I thought the rosy ones look nice though.

    Cheers.

  10. ^^ Samy jie, u macam batman. We SOS, u so onz give answers liao. Wahahaha...:bleah:

    Hey El Nino,

Sam is the 'undisputed' champion here, hahaha.

By the way, have you sought approval for the World Cup party from thy wifey?

    Cheers.

  11. Here are the kitchen 3Ds:

    KITCHENPS.jpg

Minor details that were not right:

    - Actual laminate and countertop selection not reflected

    - Cabinet left of hob is wider than required

    - Oven not added

    - Actual hood design not triangular

    - Actual hob design is black, not stainless steel

    - Actual fridge is side-by-side

    - Service yard area not drawn in

Need to tell my PM about the above and get them to change. Not sure if they are supposed to give us technical drawings with proper dimensions as well? Someone advise please? :dunno:

    Sis fiend,

Congrats in getting HDB's approval. Finally!

Whoa, things are really moving fast for you. Air con installation, plastering etc....... chop chop, no time wasting.

Good luck and do show the pictures when you are free to upload them.

    Cheers.

  12. agree with you 100%!

But regardless, we're all Liverpool fans right? We all want the best for the team, whoever is in charge..... i think our role as fans is to support the team, in good and bad times!

your home is coming together very well!!! we should have a world cup party!!

Agree with Patsy that we should have a World Cup party at Anfield.

Interesting that Mourinho is going to Real Madrid instead of Liverpool. Maybe his asking price is too high? It will further strength his credibility as the special one if he can win the BPL championship for Liverpool.

This summer transfer activity will make or break Liverpool in the next season. Let's hope that Carra, Lucas, Ngog, Kuyt and other fringe players go in exchange for one or two world class players.

With luck, maybe the World Cup will come back to England.

    Cheers.

  13. Sharing session.. My reply to Henry on 24 May 2010..

    Thanks for the updated cost.

I'm in the midst of contacting HDB and BCA so please have some patience. Like you had said previously, your company won't run away. So using the same theory, i also won't run away.

But if you insist, please then provide the document proof that we both had agreed before starting renovation on 30 April 2010 as the handing-over date, and also the handing-over is indeed completed.

Please also provide the full name of the specific window installer who installed the master bedroom sliding windows and the company name as the information is needed by the authority to conduct a check.

Note that the installer may be called up for interview if needed.

His reply on same day evening..

    Thanks for replied..

The particular of the window supplier you can get to know easily thru HDB.

Mr Pang & Ms Aw got no reason to hold the outstanding balance since whole project was done nicely & hand over.

( pls check payment term of invoice )

Please fell free to call me @90073683

( hope to settle frendly with Mr Pang ) before 27/10/2010

    My reply on today..

The company name of window supplier is on the permit from HDB.

I'm asking for the full name of the person who came to install the master bedroom window. Please let me know once u have the info. Thanks huh..

Thanks.. would also wan to settle asap which would be good for both of us.

    Brother fencer,

It has been a while since I last logged on to your T-blog. It has grown by leaps and bounds and largely on the negativity surrounding Henry's service.

This T-blog is interesting though as you can see that there are very helpful people here-blueocean who touched on the surface but not thorough on the legal aspect, jaskel who seemed like a nice contractor who would go all out to satisfy his clients and simon and hcbing who tried to reconcile your differences between you and Henry.

Nonetheless, it serves as an informative read to all current and future houseowners who are planning to do up their houses.

Hope everything will work out well eventually.

    Cheers.

  14. I just called Henry the owner of ID Note.

He gave me a `f**ked up attitude implying i am gullible and paid deposit to Philip!

Oh come on if he hired Philip to seat inside his office and issue invoice, he dare to say ID note didnt receive the cash and that he himself got cheated!???!!!

Please lah... how would an individual know the type of people he hire. As owner if he hires someone then he should take on the responsibility of the character of this person because he is signing on behalf of ID Note. If he `runs away' as insisted by Henry then ID Note should honor his invoice and pay deposit!

This is not the amount but the reliability of this person and this ID Note.

I dunno why so many people still dare to sign with him and place deposit.

What happens if another so called `run away' character turns up at his office and start issuing invoices and collecting deposit?

Henry told me flatly go do a police report. Dun bother ID Note. This is between me and Philip.

But the invoice is ID NOTE.

His attitude is too much. I am very disappointed with how he handled this case simply brushing it aside and say ID NOte didnt receive the money so would not pay and should not be robed into this. WHAT THE F

I am going to make a police report.

For those of you who wants to sign up and take the risk with ID Note i would suggest u think twice.

I am being very objective here. The above is true and I just want to warn everyone about this.

    Brother daydream,

I read with interest in your post above.

I am curious to know three things.

    1. Was the cheque written to ID Note or Philip?

    2. Has the cheque been cleared?

    3. Does the receipt state the cheque number issued to ID Note?

Like you, I want to be objective in this issue as well.

    Cheers.

  15. Thanks forceguy. I am one of those who recieved a quote from the group buy. I don't think Aron the sales guy is treating this as a group buy anymore rather he had extended the offer to all who ask him to quote using this forum or forceguy as a contact. I had checked out and compared prices for the Panasonic n Mit starmex (all syst 3 inverter) with outlets offering the same model at IMM. Prices are generally cheaper by about $100. Not much I guess. But their service is not bad. The installation guy will turn up on time to check out the layout of your house before Aron gives you a final quote inclusive of piping and installation. I had signed up with them but yet to install as my reno had yet to start. My ID guy told me it was a good price and Aron did not insist on any deposit so my gut feel told me this company not bad. The name of this company does not start or end with Best n I did not c any bad feedback on this forum. Their showroom I think is at Eunos. They only open during office hours so I didn't go down I just confirm the order over the phone and through email. Will feedback more about this when I install the aircon. I am getting the Panasonic as it looks much better than Starmex which I am using in my current house. Starmex is ugly but function well.

Trust me, this Aron guy is a honest guy and he will give proper advice as to how many air con is needed in your property with your floorplan. The techincian is Sam, another honest chap who gives sound advice with regard to how piping is run in your property and the thickness of the piping recommended.

And yes, they are located in Eunos. They are good not only for the price but the professional advice rendered.

    Regards.

  16. Ha.. so coincidence.. scali simei got more forumers.. Ha..

me weekdays can only go after work at nite leh.. weekends be at the hse whole day cleaning, unpacking so can drop by to see see.. Ha.. let me know lah..

    Hey brother fencer,

Sympathise with you here after reading your post. Nevertheless, I Thank You for sharing with us especially to those who engaged Henry's service.

    Regards.

  17. haha ya hor... :P nvm the tendency to call bro when the name has "sam" in it is big.

dun worry, 100% galz. no in-between

poor infinite, now we switch to her blog for crapping.

Well Sam, I guess you are THE champion in this entire forum community. Just look at the number of posts you got there before a single knock in your house tells a lot, hahaha. Okay, just teasing you.

Hey infinite, just saw your pm and went through your T blog once more to realise I did visit before. Been lack of sleep and neurons dying already. Yup, was suggesting to erect a glass wall behind the partition wall so that area can serve as a cosy corner, no? Too ambitious maybe. The rest of your 3D pictures are impressive! I like the woody laminates of your wardrobe door that goes very well with the greyish tone in your MBD, nice combi. Dont seem to see a mirror in there, hidden in the toilet?

    Cheers.

  18. Thanks... Aiyah, so long our aircon serves it purpose then we shd be happy liao... :)

Glad my research is worthwhile to identify the right BTU then...

Er...the floor tiles laid liao la...probably does not look so because of the dust and such or is it because my floor is suppose to be white?

El Nino, we got the same brand. Like the silver exterior and its curves too. What does your research say about panasonic?

    Cheers.

  19. not yet la. they are soooooooo slowwwwwwwww.. i check the status on their website every day. i also told my PM last night to sms me immediately once they receive the approval. i'm very kan chiong know! once its been approved, i can order all my bathroom stuff and tiles liao... :sport-smiley-004:

we don't have enough space for a separate shower (the 3ds are deceptive), though i'd have preferred it. like u said, maintaining the tub is no joke. but due to space constraints, bo pian have to combine bath & shower into one. luckily its just the two of us in the house, imagine if we have old folks or kids having to climb in and out of the tub to shower...

Transformation in your toilet is something I look forward to in this blog.

    Cheers.

  20. You r right :)

refer to my post above . that's what i mean by saving piping cost by halve ...

U can try 707 instant heater ... usually I go for mode 2 . not even mode 3 .... 2 is very hot liao . rachel only use mode 1 ... she always scold me for going to mode 2 ... (come on ... what's worng for liking hot water man ... )

Hang on, brother. Thought storage tank is more cost effective than instant heater as in you turn on for 5 to 10 mins before use and that's it. Okay, piping wise is more expensive than just running on instant heater but that's a one-off. After that, cost saving starts to kick in for a storage vs a instant, no?

    Cheers.
