    After my bazi was read, I was very fortunate that master chang shared some insights about this topic. Though Im still hard of digesting. Recalled he said #cause and effect# or ying go got many kinds. It can go back to yourself or elsewhere. Something like that...not very good at explaining. What he explained really let me see the light at the tunnel on why some children die early (without doing bad). He also stressed about feng sui can help to protect or change.

    Why some children die without doing bad? is it becoz the the bad person(s) in the form of children did some misdeeds in past lives and hence they got die in this life? Is my reasoning correct?

    although sadly i didnt get much help here when i asked back then so i peservered myself. :D

    K, this could be a long one. Hope im not rambling rubbish. :lol:

    Went thru with Mr Yeak the lighting (and electrical) plan last weekend. Then shopped for my lights few days back at lightings.com.sg. My lights amounted to $950. :)

    For ur living and dining, will u be having any L-box or false ceiling? If yes, u'd probably be looking at downlights. Two types, PLC (energy saving) and Halogen (nice effect, but warm easy if use too much). Spacing is abt 4 to 5 ft from each other is good enough to provide ample lighting.

    If u plan to showcase some painting or murals on ur walls, halogen spotlight is a necessary evil. ;)

    When purchasing downlight best to get those casing with frosted glass cover otherwise if clear glass, its gna be very glary and uncomfortable.

    I decided to go with warm white cove lighting above dining area since i didnt splurge on special dining lights. For this, Mr Yeak advised me to for T8 loose fitting. Something abt not wanting it encased like the T5. Since the stretch for cove lighting is ard 17ft, he told me to get 18ft instead so that his electrician can overlap the lights to provide a continuous effect. I didnt think of this. :thumbs up:

    For kitchen cabinet and vanity top, i got some T5 cool white to act as my task light. Warm white is a no no for me in the kitchen coz u need good lighting to check on the browning of the cake or whether the meat has grilled well :P Of coz i bought ceiling lights for the kitchen as general lighting. :good:

    I had no ceiling lights in the 3 rooms. Built an L-box with 3 downlights in each room to maintain a modern and sleek look within my house. Warm white for bedrooms for cosy intimate feel. Daylight for study, well this one self explanatory. :P

    Since i didnt had any ceiling lights in the 3 rooms, i compensated with ceiling fans instead. Bought 4 sets from the same shop. Cost was abt $1.1k :) Hah! Hope that was some tip! :dunno:

    Actually all Yeakers unit the grouting is great because he only uses one tiling team. U could ask Mr Yeak if he could show u ard some of his work. But yah, u can drop by my unit anytime just that its still covered with corrugated paper coz plastering works ongoing. :) So can only see wall tiles not floor. :lol:

    Really shed some light on lightings. This is informative.

    I think it's easier to find if you flip through the yellow copy of phone directory - Industrial & commercial guide.

    There use to be one at AMK pk 3 - Ang Yang aluminum, no idea where is it now, maybe close down liao.

    There's another one At AMK pk 2, it's a metal workshop near to the canteen at 5022.

    Maybe you try Mingly ornamental orany other casting company.

    I think after the first trimester, your wife should be okay. Then again, drink lots of water to prevent dehydration is some instruction your wife has to follow strictly.

    At least these type can slowly upgrade rite, move in and then see if u need loh. Can still change your bulbs?

    Have cove lighting instead, can use daylight white light for usual and cove lighting for that special mood. Like tat no need to find lamps or scared not bright enough.

    Cove lighting invites insects breeding, sister. To each his own, actually. On the other hand, cove lighting gives and creates a serene ambience.....with classical/jazz music in the background, nice.

    Nice. My only concern is do we have to switch off the main kitchen light to see the full effect of this kind of lighting? And do we swtich on both the kitchen light and what do you call this kind of lighting at the same time? The location for this kind of lighting seems difficult to change a new tube, isnt it?

    for mine, i call him "Dear" most of the time or his name. it's only to outside when I refer him to ah lao or hubby. yeah zelly, we beautify them mah :notti:

    for my case my MIL stands neutral when me and my ah lao fight. she will c who right who wrong then tell the party why they wrong. so if my hubby wrong she also help me scold him. same for my SIL who is his elder sis. :sport-smiley-004: but same thing lah, if i being unreasonable they will also say me.

    Okay, so it's true that T-chow MILs are easy going. I am sure your son in law can get along with you and your ah lao in the future.

    Everyone is living in harmony and that's good fengshui too!

    In terms of look, drop down more model loh. But like wat sammie said, it is not approved by HDB. As long as after u finish reno, HDB dont check on u can liao (maybe abt 1% chance of kanna check?) And when u sell next time, u may need to redo for the buyer if I am not wrong.

    Hmm....can ask the contractor how much does it cost to reinstate the bath area from dropdown back to its original condition? Maybe that will give an idea whether to proceed with dropdown in the first place or not.
