  1. Could someone pm me the contact details of the carpenter as well? Thank you
  2. I would like to engage a carpenter to make a stand alone TV console bench. Could you pm me the contact please? (other than Mr Lau or Perlyn as they sound rather busy). Thanks!
  3. I'm also going to make a TV Console, to fit an Onkyo amplifier. a good depth would be at least 40 cm. I'm not sure what you mean by power socket though, shouldnt that be outside?
  4. Hi, as per the above topic, I am looking for a reliable carpenter who speaks English to custom make a TV Console (solid wood bench only, no wall). My chinese isn't very good and I had enough difficulties with my only chinese speaking contractor (luckily my partner speaks fluently, but i want to supervise this carpenter works myself). Thanks very much!!
  5. Hi guys, I'm looking for a contractor to make sliding window for my house, can anyone recommend me a contractor (who speaks english) and let me know how much you think it might cost? View from inside: View from outside: The window should be installed on the outside (so the grills are not touched). I plan to cover the top half with a permanent glass and the bottom half will be sliding. the size is about 210 cm (height) x 116 cm (width). Thanks alot guys

I have had a bad experience with them as well. In the beginning seemed to be quite genuine and helpful. We were promised that if we trim the size of our furniture down they will reduce the total payment accordingly. So I paid the deposit thinking nothing of it. Fast forward to the future and now when we ask to revise the price downwards, they turn around and tell me no such promise was made. Guess it was my fault for not writing it down, but they have some really bad post sales attitude.
  7. FYI, I got a quotation from Gain City:- System 3 Mitsubishi (30,000 BTU) - $2970 System 1 (non inverter) (24,000 BTU) - $1600 That's fine, but the installation and dismantling charges costs a a whopping $1600!!! Includes upgrade to 3/4 insulation as well as Grade 22 pipes. Will keep you posted on installation when the time comes.
  8. I just called Best Denki to arrange for a site survey, unfortunately apart from Fujitsu, all other air cond brands charge $30 for a site inspection. Also Best Denki is out of stock for the Mitsubishi system 1 i was looking for, so it looks like i might be going for gain city as they have been the most informative/helpful so far. I really hope i dun kena bad experience like the other few users in the forum. @_@ Will post my quote when i get it
  9. Patrick was a pretty nice guy right? By the way was your quotation inclusive of installation charges (+ piping and resealing etc)? Sorry first timer myself so i have never heard of Fushion Installer. GainCity salesperson came to inspect my place on Sunday and he was pretty informative. Hasn't given me a quote yet though.
  10. I started another thread earlier but i think a continuation of this thread would be more suitable. I was just quoted the following:- 1. To lay and install 2 x 13A Power Point = $90 each 2. to lay and install sCV Point = $90 each 3. To lay and install telephone point = $50 each 4. to lay and install Hob and Hub point = $160 5. To lay and install oven point = $160 6. To lay and install lighting point = $50 each 7. to lay and install fan point = $55 8. To install 63A single phace DB Board 24 Way = $600 9. to lay and install air con point isolator = $180 10. each light installation = $10 11. fan installation = $15 Seems to be abit higher for certain items from what is above, but personally i think it is alright. What do you guys think?
  11. Hi guys, my electrician quoted me the following prices. Can I get an indication from those who are experienced whether these are reasonable? 1. To install 63A single phace DB Board 24 Way = $600 9. to lay and install air con point isolator = $180 10. each light installation = $10 11. fan installation = $15 Thank you!!
  12. I went to Best Denki at Vivo last night, spoke to a guy named Patrick. He was quite helpful and informative. Between Mitsubishi and Fujitsu, he was recommending Fujitsu as being more value for money (it is abit cheaper but just as good, according to him. more research is needed on this). To summarise the quotes i got below:- Option 1 Mitsubishi System 3 (est. 28000 BTU) - $3188 Mitsubishi System 1 (est. 22000 BTU) - $2200 Option 2 Fujitsu System 3 (est. 28000 BTU) - $2899 Mitsubishi System 1 (est. 22000 BTU) -$2199 Both Options are 4 ticks. Above prices do not include the 8% rebate (and as Coyoteapple mentioned above, there is a further 2% rebate) Basic installation charges are included, and there are no additional charges for piping length that are below 25 feet EACH pipe. Anything more than 25 Feet per piping will be chargeable, so you have to check if the length is enough for your rooms. Brackets are $110 each. Powerpoints are $200 each. However, dismantling charges (for those like me with existing air cons) is a case by case basis which requires Best Denki to view your property. Although he did mention that if you go for Fujitsu, the dismantling charges should be free. Existing brackets can also be reused so remember to tell the contracter that. Will check out HN this weekend and keep you posted.
  13. Thanks for the tips! My contractor's air con guy only accepts full payment (40% then 60%), so that's why im looking at these other alternative places. I just checked with CoolServe, they only accept cash or cheque, and don't offer credit card / instalment plans. They also don't do extended warranties. I'll be going down to also check out Harvey Norman and Best Denki this weekend to see what kind of offers they have.
  14. Hi guys, i'm new here and i am also looking at these places for air con installation. The main reason being that they should accept payment by way of credit card installments (money is tight right now ). I'm getting Gain City to come to take a look at my place this Sunday, hopefully it will be a pleasant experience.
