Thanks davidbslee ... but I didn't get to install the top hung windows for my toilet ...
-
I got the towels from the John Little Expo Sale ... actually I went there twice (in separate months) cuz each time I am only able to find 2 pieces ... weird! Guess the 50% off the usual price is worth going

I think they are quite strict in terms of the wet areas. Anyway, it is still better to have the shower area inside as I don't think you want your neighbour downstairs to come up to complain about leaking ceiling in their toilet ...

Thanks livialw ...

Hey dexufto, saw your pics of the original condition. Seems like there are endless possibilities for the overhaul ... like your layout ... at least you got an extra utility room ...
-
The contractor is responsive though he gets a bit disorganized ... got to send him reminders on a daily basis hahaha The FS master is an architect by training ... so you are right ... sleeping tiger hidden dragon ... but he is not cheap

I presume your toilets are separated like mine and you are planning to combine it? Good luck on the permit approval!!!

wah! looking forward to seeing your home's transformation ... good luck with the reno. A tip to share ... if possible, try to visit your place during the reno period on a daily basis. Cuz there's bound to be something that didn't go quite right ... and you can get the guys to rectify right away. And of cuz, don't forget to take lots of pictures! So when is the handover date? anyway, my cov is 25K but still quite hefty ... so I share your sentiment about being a slave to the house. Now I am cleaning it every day ... in big ways and small ways ... wonder how long I can last hahahaha ... just managed to get a part time weekend maid to come in last saturday ... felt like heaven sent. now I just enjoy my little place more than ever ... some times not quite willing to step out just to enjoy every bit of it hahaha ... going to be a hermit soon

Hi ben1977, it was in excess of $40k ... way over my budget ... now feeling the pain of the burnt pocket ...

Hi desxufto, thanks. I do enjoy my flat very much, esp the toilet. For the extended area, my contractor felt that it will be more practical to have the shower area inside, esp with all the pipes running underneath. Guess the HDB approval for the extension was also based on the fact that it is to house a "drier" area such as the vanity table & basin. The FS master didn't think it will make much difference anyway.

I bought this at Robinsons for $88.00 ... last day of the sale.

Actually not just OLD people ... the other day I saw a neighbour opposite my sister's flat ... he (about 30s) was throwing the flyers (which were placed at his gate) out of the corridor down the block!

Thanks ... definitely no privacy ... so can only admit one at a time My contractor charged me $850 to change the toilet and kitchen pipes ... excluding the one near the laundry area cuz the condition is fairly ok.

After 3 weeks of work ... Tiling completed Living Room Kitchen Toilet
-
Today I talked to the technical officer from hdb or town council ... he said cannot change to top hung window. When I asked him why ... he said "people will throw rubbish out of window and break the glass" ... DUH!

Hi pcomaster, thanks for checking in. have been busy with work, shopping for furnitures & stuff, site inspection, etc ... so far completed the tiling, plastering, false celing. Next will be the lightings and carpentry works. The reno should be done in 2 weeks' time. For reno costs, I am still waiting for the variation calculations. The initial quote was around $35K.

I am on the 11th floor and the highest floor is 14th. Ok, I will go and "scold" my contractor. Maybe he doesn't want to incur extra $$$ since he already changed to the normal 3 glass panel type.
