  1. I agree, the MBR is pretty small if we were to cater for the wardrobe space. I do have a storeroom in between as well, but I have converted the space as part of my MBR. Drawback is more cabinet in my Living room for storage. Best of luck in your reno and remember visit more often unless you really trust your contractor alot.
  2. Hi Edward, exciting to see another fellow 3-roomer. We have a similar flat layout and I am also at the same stage of reno as you. Just curious, are both your bedroom doors still facing each other after the hacking? Thanks for sharing...
  3. Finally, Day 1. Hacking of tiles have started.
  4. Mine is the third unit from the lift, so am I correct to say I do not need the half-hour fire rated door?
  5. Thanks guys for the advise. I'll keep those contact in mind.
  6. The contractor that I am engaging is recommended by a friend. Everything come as an individual package which kind of worries me. He is charging me 15K for the following: 1) Hacking of all floor and wall tiles 2) Hacking of store room 3) Hacking of wall between kitchen and living room 4) Replacing all floor and wall tiles 5) Hollow block to seal existing common bedroom entrance 6) Replace both bedroom doors and frame Additional: Electrical: replace of all wiring and labor to install lights $1600 Painting: $1150 Plumbing: replace all water piping and labour to install all sanitory and accessories $1600 Still missing: Carpentary- found a contact for this, still awaiting quote Windows and grilles main gate main door false ceiling Glass door for both toilet Glass sliding door for kitchen Budget is going to burst big time... Looking for advise on the following issues: Electrical: The previous owner had replaced all wirings 5 years ago (still looks new to me). Is it still neccessary to redo it again? I asked the contractor but they said electricians do their wiring differently so it instead of modifying the existing wiring, was asked to rewire again.
  7. Common Bedroom: Common bedroom + study. Gonna seal up this door for my MBR extension. Store Room: Store Room has to go and this will be the entrance to my MBR. Kitchen: The utility room in the background. I dont recall that HDB adds this extra room when they do upgrading in recent years. The guy who designed this must have been distracted as I wonder why there is a pipe exposed beside the basin when the others have theirs on the other side. Three more days to D-Day!! Hopefully everything turns out well.
  8. Took some pics of the house in its current state earlier. Main Door: Wide corridor, hence the extra length in Living Room and Common Bedroom. Living Room: The low ceiling at the foyer area is giving me a headache. It is made of concrete and not removable. Thinking of putting up a false ceiling to reduce the big height difference. MBR: Small compared to my current one. So I am hacking off the storeroom to make more space. MBR Toilet: Pathetic little toilet measuring 1.6m x 1.4m on floorplan. Cant bear to measure it on the ground. TBC.......
  9. Thanks Neubie, Lilithfiend, Pinkpetter, Samgalz, Kor69 and Pinklady. Pics coming up soon..
  10. Hi Neubie, thanks. The flat is in Hougang Ave 3. I will post some pics when I have them.
  11. After much waiting, I can finally start my countdown to the completion date in two weeks!! Have not decided if I will be engaging a contractor or an ID although I have met a few for quotes and ideas. Hopefully I can have it sorted out by end of next week. Floorplan:
