Yes Summerr, I will not pay for 3D design at such early stage. I have been direct in telling them what i'm expecting in terms of concept and ideals. I want to see their design and execution. It has got to be smart and creative. If they are able to proposal something good, I would not mind paying more. Every ID can do a feature wall, a tv consoles, a false ceiling with cove lighting but only some can cleverly execute these features within a small space. I'm going all the way in creating a moodboard for them as well.

Main reno work. - Decided to swap the living area and dinning area. - Extending kitchen cabinet and counter top. - Storage and work areas for study room. - Custom made queen size bed frame with headboard. Laminate for bay window. - False ceiling with cove lights. 1/2 the ceiling. - Simple and clean feature wall for TV. (Waiting for design) - Shelving units or cabinet along the living and dining long wall. (Waiting for design) - Feature wall with shelves to cover up entrance to household shelter. (Waiting for design)

Hi summerr. Thanks for dropping by. I have met up with 4 ID/contractor. 3 of them are through referral and 1 is from renotalk. Something I noticed after meeting 4 ID is none of them actually ask or try to find out more about their client in person. I did share my requirements, likes and dislike but as a designer it is also important for them to know a little of my background and lifestyle as this will translate into their work. Their design will be more personal rather typical. Worst are those ID sweat shops that churns out recycled designs, ideals and execution. I'm meeting 1 more ID and I hope my expectation will not fall short. As for the sofa, the fabric is by ACACIA and the color is anthracite. I'm ok with pre-order items as I don't need them now. But I just hope it will not be longer than 3 months. Do share your reno work too.

Saw this crystal black tempered glass top with black hairline polished aluminum by SEATS and it was love at 1st sight. I like their collections of furniture and accessories. Similar to Motto but prices are much lower. As for the sofa, I have decided to go with Lush. A customized 2 1/2 seater. Damage: Dinning table - $1280.00 Sofa - $1580.00

Hi all, may I know if the Id at summit do site visit on the 1st meeting or discuss and quote using floor plan? I feel that it is important for Id to have a sense of the the space before they suggest anything and be creative. I personally dislike those who just "talking on paper".

Was at lush and saw this sofa I like. Anyone have experience to share on lush?
