  1. haha no la.. accident only.. he more panic than i am when he saw my face turn bloody in an instant.. he is alot more shorter than me so difficult to headbutt back anyway! Hey hihi!! damai grove issit the project opp LRT?
  2. Oh i thought to use glass doors, the original wooden door frame cannot be used? We are also installing glass doors for our toilets and we thought need to replace the door frames.. My ID already warn us of the make good cost as to tear down the door frame, it will impact the wall tiles in the toilets and that cost monies.. hmmm..
  3. Today is a **** unlucky day for me.. Went for my IPT as usual and ended up with a bloody face and 5 stitches near my right eye.. one fellow trainee run right into my lane and headbutt me.. sianz.. sorry not reno stuff but cant help grumbling about it. *signz*
  4. Wah the scarring of your laminates are really bad.. hmm.. initially dun know why my ID dun want to do my laminate flooring together with the tiling, now i know y he want to have laminate flooring to come in last.. guess even with protection, with so many works going on confirm will get some damage here and there? anyway really hope everything eventually will turn out good for u!
  5. Hello floppy! never ask for your air-con units to be installed at a later stage of your reno? Anyway thought this is a good spot to put a glass door so when you can "keep" the air-con within the living room when you turn it on?
  6. Out of the 55, only 28 are for downlights.. the rest are cove lightings which are mainly for effects.. In a way i bring this upon myself.. haha The low pressure is settled, now water pressure is good and i will use storage heater as well.. Talking about this, Red Audi know its really my dream to have rainshower so he still thinking of ways to add in my MBR toilet.. Wednesday he is meeting the plumber at my house to discuss again.. hehe.. hopefully there will be good news for me!
  7. Discuss with Red Audi today on the lightings, altogether including cove lightings i have 55 lighting points for the whole house! Never thought i will have so much lights in the house before lor.. hmmm.. Anyway out of these 55, 28 are downlights lighting point so there are big monies to be spent.. He propose beside bedroom 2 and 3 which will be using standard PLCs, the remaining 20 use LED instead.. Although we know in the long run its to our benefit as we will save on utilities, and even with the special price he have for PLCs and LEDs, the estimated total cost including T5 for cove lights to do in such a manner is about 2.5k.. we only budget 2k lo.. we alreadly overshot our budget for electrical and now this.. sianz.. He then suggested if really current cash output is so critical, then we can go for all PLCs instead which will put the total cost to about 1.8k.. Haven decide yet but now really in a dilemma whether we should overshot our budget and enjoy potential savings to our utilities.. hmmm
  8. Pictures please!! Congrats to the completion of your reno!
  9. Nice drawings you have! Just one question, u going to build a full feature wall with tv console in your MBR? will it be very cramped? something u might want to take note is that 3d drawings always appear more spacious than it actually is in real lor..
  10. I got as a package but think if u r getting it standalone, should be 1K+ lo.. but if u are a hard bargainer, maybe can get it lesser! Thanks! yea we looking forward to the end product too! Ha just come back from site and suddenly realise after false ceiling and flooring is done, my house will look even smaller! i tip-toe only can touch the false ceiling liao thank you! we really like its simple and classy look lor, thats why we change our mind and get this rectangular table instead of the round table that we initially planning for
  11. Reno updates.. Pic taken late last night, preview to our flooring as the tilers had laid the boundary for the different tiles.. Cant go into the house to take more pics as the cement is still wet. Red Audi called today and tell me the flooring looks good! i think will be completed by this week, cant wait to go down and take more pics!
  12. Hey nice 3D drawings u have! look very comfortable and cozy lo.. Living room should be full height because everytime from the carpark can see your project and i always very envious.. haha.. you got the KEF 3005 SE? what avr you are using to pair with it? For low water pressure, u can call your project Building Service Centre, i call mine and they send a plumber down and its resolve within a day.. good work!
  13. Here comes the furniture for my entertainment room... Gorgeous. Stunning. We love this. Although this should be easily the most expensive furniture we have bought so far but we think its definitely worth the moolas... Though i definitely not going to tell my mum how much i paid for it...... we chose mango colour for this piece as we think it matches the theme i have in mind for the entertainment room. TV console, only piece of furniture i feel a little regretted getting.. should have ask my ID to custom make for me instead.. although this looks great and the drawers come with soft closing and hidden drawer tracks, the biggest issue i have with it is that i cannot fit my avr into the lobang.. well just got to put on the table top lor, no choice here..
  14. Furniture Story... We started to keep a lookout for furniture we might want to buy, even before we start looking for IDs.. we have see see look look at Defu, novena and those furniture shops at IMM but frankly speaking nothing really caught our eyes.. Sometimes we see something that we might want to get, we just go “Oh this one not bad hor, can kiv” and then walk away. We don’t see anything that we really fancy... Fast forward a little, in august there is this furniture fair, Asia Pacific Furniture Fair 2010, that is held at expo, so we just thought we might go there walk walk a little... As usual and also half expected by us, nothing we really fancy in our first 15min in the hall until we saw Species. We literally stop at the entrance to its exhibition area and gape at its furniture... We seldom see pieces of furniture BOTH of us like so much lo! And the rest is history... hehe.. We absolutely love this 1.4M dining table complete with the bench and 2 chairs, simple and in our opinion gorgeous. The wielding at the joints are really well done, and the glass top is transparent white as even at close inspection, its not those common glass that will have a greenish hue. This is our sofa for the hall which we got it on our 2nd trip to Species’ boutique at furniture mall.. Initially before we got this, i was telling my other half maybe we should get from other more reputable brands like Lorenzo, so that we can spread our risk exposure on Species as we already paid more than 3k plus on deposit without actual delivery of the goods.. But decision was made immediately after we went around the mall trying different sofas and end up at Species again.. think they must have put kong tao on us.. hehe.. Our original coffee table is a round one, as we prefer something without edges so that we can prevent some potential bruises on our legs but in the end, we still found this piece more soothing to the eyes and looks more gentle than the original one we shortlisted.
  15. My deepest condolences bro... Deal with your incompetent ID later after your family and yourself had settled down through this difficult time. Take care of yourself and family ya
  16. Just come back from my house after my ID complain to me during the day that the water pressure for my house is very low.. then its very difficult for his tilers to do cementing.. And indeed it was quite bad.. Try to fill a pail of water and it really take some time to fill up.. I already max up the water valve outside my house liao and its still the same.. Anyone got any experience in this? Do i called SP Services or I can contact the Building Service Centre for my BTO for assistance?
  17. Thanks! all the tiles i got from Hafary at Balestier.. Anyway this is the box-up i told you before that i need to hack all away if i want to make space for my rainshower..
  18. Tiling to start on 22Nov! We opt out of the flooring provided by HDB, hence we have the option to play with our tiles.. Initially we only planned for tiling in areas excluding kitchen(Original from HDB) and bedrooms(Laminated flooring), but after trying to visualise the original flooring from hdb and the colour scheme of our kitchen cabinets, we decide to overlay the kitchen floor as well, otherwise really cannot make it.. Anyway hdb charge ridiculous price for their tiles and so i rather save on this cost to make good our expanded kitchen, and chose something we prefer and overlay the whole kitchen instead.. Dear Red Audi budget $3 psf for the flooring and so we should chose something around this cost.. BUT my eyes too upmarket and love this spanish imported floor tile at first sight.. think it absolutely fit the theme of our kitchen but it cost a whopping $4.50 psf! Knowing i like it so much and knowing my missus is reluctant to top up and will rather go for another cheaper alternative(which i don't really like), he had kindly absorb the additional cost so that i can use the tiles i like.. Thank you very much!! This tile will be used in kitchen and foyer area. As mentioned in my earlier posts, i intend to create a "long" passageway effect from my hall all the way into my MBR wiw wannabe.. I think it will look great if done correctly and i have high expectations for this, and so when Red Audi suggested this tile, i am immediately sold.. The rustic feel of this tile means that it will be a bold choice as at first glance it looks abit weird but i think the looks just glows on me, and Red Audi assured me that it will look very good once i saw the final product instead of just looking at the one piece by itself, and i believe him. My missus is not so convinced and she prefer a safe choice at first.. now come the funny part, she finally agreed with me when we go to the kopitiam in the link between orchard central and centrepoint, and they used almost the same rustic tiles for their entrance! and it looks great! so quickly informed Red Audi and this will be my passageway tiles. Red Audi prefer us to use tiles without grains like design in our hall, as he think it will go well with our overall theme and will not go out of fashion.. So we chose white tile for our hall.. He promised us that the different tiles will be joined seamlessly using stainless-steel strips and he have alot of confidence in his tilers.. Hope everything goes well and the end result will look great without looking messy lor! *Pray very hard*
  19. Hihi! maybe you should ask your ID for advise first? maybe he can work magic to make it happen!
  20. study liao, not that big leh... hmm.. maybe different BTO they used different products? but we think its till quite gd so we keeping for the common bathroom.. but for MBR bathroom want something more shiok! hehe.. haha want to do everything during reno so that if there are any issues can always ask Red Audi for advise and assistance.. hopefully can find something which we like and not so expensive.. Kitchen stuff are my other half territory
  21. Visit the hansgrohe... the design is but the price also definitely more expensive than grohe.. hmmm.. but if really cannot fix the rainshower, i am keen to get the PuraVida 150 3 jet handshower( http://www.hansgrohe.com.sg/sg_en/115238_3...F3736383139.htm ) But my gf is worried about the cost and she think is not worth the price, and most likely will veto this idea..
  22. We paying hansgrohe showroom a visit tomorrow lo! coz the more i look at the stuff on its website, the more i like it! hehe.. yup with or without rainshower system, we going to install storage tank lor.. since it can support 2 bathrooms then we don't need to install instant heaters.. haha now my other half have no tolerance for even a hundred dollars top-up! and unlikely we can save on other stuff liao.. now just pray very hard we did not miss out catering budget for anything.. hmm..
  23. Think its really hard to tell u what they going to do day by day.. depends on progress and availability of sub-cons your contractor engaged, they may have different things done each day.. but maybe u can try to get a schedule from your contractor so that at least you have a gauge of when "important" events are about to occur like tiling, carpentry and painting etc.. For me i getting a weekly update from my ID so i just visit once or twice a week to make sure things that he say will be done, are done properly.
  24. oh never thought of this option! But it means we have to top-up.. my other half getting very sensitive over topping up additonal moolas coz we are way, way over our budget.. but then again should speak to Red Audi on this.. hehehehe.. maybe do it FOC?!
  25. u have a specific model to recommend? take a look at their website but no prices mentioned.. is it more expensive than grohe? talking about this, all along i thought grohe=hansgrohe!
