  3. having a conventional type of island is a challenge for your rectangular kitchen...how abt a moveable island???create an opening in your bottom cabinet so that u can move and tuck the island into it...pull it out whenever needed and keep when not...so u can still get to have the centre space for walking...

  4. my 2nd bedroom..

are you shifting your wardrobe to the wall next to door??? from the 3D, kinda feel there's no walking space at the end of the bed...

  5. The laundry shop email and told me my order will be cancelled as they do not ship that particular caddy to Singapore. I'm so sad now... have to continue to hunt for the caddy.

Oh no..amazon uk shipped via vpost is ard $80 shipping charges..

  6. dear lazybum

my advise is try not to buy bulky items becos freight will be very expensive for bulky items cos they charge by volumetric weight

but dont worry your house will be nicely done up and you will be proud and happy :)

ya...checking with angeliqueho81 which uk website she went to for her caddy...shipping only 5pounds...

  7. Hi Lazy Bum

    1) Need to setup vpost account (if you are planning to use vpost)

    https://www.vpost.com.sg/vpost/signup-create-profile

Once done they will assign you a USA ship to address & account number

    2) Set up account with Amazon (need credit card, I think they accept debit card also)

    http://www.amazon.com/

    3) Select the items you want... once done, check out and make payment using credit card...

Under the shipping address you will need to key in the USA address and account number VPost assigned to you

    4) Amazon will email you invoices if your transaction is successful. You will need to submit the invoice to Vpost online... will need to enter the transaction number and etc

    5) You can track the shipping status in vpost .. Shipment takes around 2 weeks

  8. As far as I am aware;

    1. Yes

    2. I would imagine it is the RG. The ONT would be with the TP can your cat6 cable will connect the ONT and the RG by your TV.

    3. Yes and Yes.

    :)

    RB

bro RB, i opened the right box and inside is a 5 point splitter, 1 inlet & 4 outlets to all rooms' tv points...and opennet replied me today, see their reply below...

    picture009sd.jpg

    Thank you for your email.

You will be able to enjoy the HD enhancement for TV if you connect the TP to the Splitter which distribute signals to the TV points.

my plan is to put router in living room and use starhub services...if what opennet says is true, i don't need to run cat6 to living room...i can connect starhub modem to tv point and connect my wireless router to modem and be able to enjoy the high speed fibre...am i correct???

  9. this opennet thing is driving me nuts...i got my terminal point(TP) installed in my DB box which i thought supposed to be near tv / telephone points in living room...so decided to run cat6 cables from DB box to living room until someone told me that's not required as the 2 circles boxes in the pic is meant to connect to servicer provider's network termination equipment...i opened up the right box and insider has a splitter distributing signals to different tv points in the house so rightfully I can connect the network termination eqiupment to that box and my rest of tv points in the house would be enabled with high speed connection right??? picture009sd.jpg

i emailed opennet to confirm on this...and below are their replies...

this one doesn't answer any of my question man...

    Thank you for your email.

The fibre-optic services from RSPs (SingTel/StarHub/M1) provides HD enhancement to the TV and ultra-speed internet.

In order to enjoy the HD enhancement feature, you will need a physical connection from the Network Termination Equipment to the TV itself. Whereas for the ultra-speed internet, it will be wireless. Thus, it will not be an issue as you will receive the signal anywhere in the unit.

Regarding the relocation of TP, it will be chargeable at S$220 before GST for High-Rise and S$450 before GST for landed.

    Have a nice day.

Hence emailed back to emphasize on my question and some days later, another reply...

    Thank you for your email.

You will be able to enjoy the HD enhancement for TV if you connect the TP to the Splitter which distribute signals to the TV points.

13 days later and this seems to be the answer i'm looking for but...opennet don't seem to know much about their own stuffs...which makes me wonder if i should trust this source... :( i don't think i can connect the TP to the splitter as per the 2nd email reply...thought still need the service provider's network termination equipment between the TP and splitter??? :dunno: i seriously need help here to understand this opennet thing man...

  10. I'm back! Refresh after a short nap and a bath :D May & lazybum, don't mentioned..I need to buy mirror for my common bathroom anyway so it's 'shui bian'. 12. yup, its always better to be recommended by someone here. And pricing usually will better as well.

Ely, i sent you a pm regarding your washing machine. no reply from you yet. :)

I do not want to buy on impulse.... but for this time, just want to be extra sure.... hehehehe....

but not for me leh...some recommended here charge me an arm & leg... :(

  13. May, I went PJ and they don't carry the stainless steel rack for the cabinets:( Hoe Kee got but price machiam same as SC so I guess might as well get from SC. SC offers lifetime warranty.

Lazybum, they have a few towel rack..but I don't see the exact one with the basket that u posted. Towel racks pricing from $50 to $100 plus.

    Latest update:

L Box & False Ceiling are up! Sorry no picture again as today brought my baby along to see see look look. Carrying diaper bag with flask, milk powder already very tired. No hands to take pics. Btw, met a couple when I was about to leave.. Heard Henry calling them Mr and Mrs Soh... Henry told me that they wanted to see the workmanship and had specifically mentioned to Henry that they want to see the Boon Keng one... Apologies for being a poor host and not staying back to even properly introduce ourselves as my baby was super cranky & tired today. Hubby cannot managed baby so I need to rush to carry him ...

    Curtains:

Last nite went to one of a curtain shop in PS to get quote.. Smelly smelly the quote can go up to $2k to $3k and above. When I told hubby about the famous Mr Chew that the forum here recommended, he said no shop, no talk. He don't want to take risk leh.. Hubby is more comfortable to order from curtain shops.. Went to MGL Curtains at Lavender Street, Eminent Plaza today to custom made my roller blinds. We selected a variety of materials ranging from $6 to $8 type... Went back to MGL cos they did the curtains for my sengkang flat 5 years ago and now since the shop is located nearby and the good service they offered years back, we decided to just get from them. The people in MGL is the chin chye type.. I told the owner, May Cheong that my budget is about $1.5k and she gave me discount to match the price I am comfortable with.

That's all for today... I'm tired and sleepy... Need to rest liao...

Thanks for checking out for me... ;) thoought mr chew comes along to your place to provide a no obligation quotation and will show you samples of curtains to match your house theme & colour...so should be quite alright...anyway since u are comfortable with MGL, that's the most impt le..

  14. I think that's the scv tv points, where the incoming tv signal from the catv distribution system split into multiple coaxial tv points.

coaxial cables are usually black in color.

within the box itself there shd not be any opennet fiber cables there. before u close up the box u may want to take pic n show for clarity.

btw, u are not supposed to tamper with those boxes outside Ur unit.

these boxes are in my unit, in the DB box...the opennet TP is next to the left circled box...apology for not making it clear earlier...below is a pic of my DB box in my unit...i try to take a pic of the right circled box later to show...

    44097870.jpg

  15. neubie,

when i open the right circled box, found a 5 point splitter with labels on the cables indicating livingrm, bedrm1, mbr & bombshelter...that was why i suspect when i get the network termination equipment from service provider...i connect 1 end to opennet TP and other end can connect to this 5 point splitter and my hse tv points will be enabled with high speed connection...then i have a 2point splitter in livingrm connected to the tv point, 1 is for tv & other is for modem / wireless router...not sure if i'm making any sense here...

  16. CLOCK

I mentioned before, i have been looking for a special-unique-only 1 in the world-pretty clock. Since i am not able to find it anywhere in singapore or malaysia or ebay for that matter, i decided to custom made it by going to www.hourstyle.com.

Any photos you have taken, you can send to them then they will look at it and see whether to make it into single panel, double panel or triple panels. Its all depending on how big piece is your wall. I believe that mae29 have one like that too (correct me if i am wrong, mae29).

Thanks to supersimon27, i sent in a photo which i think would look great to make a clock. Tell me what you think.

    swee... :thumbs up:

  17. Hi folks, I finally gathered enough courage to start my own T-Blog after reading so many inspiring ones quietly. Just went for our 1st appointment not too long along, and barring any additional delay than the extension that we are probably give to the current owners, we should be getting our keys in the beginning of May.

Hopefully, we can share our experiences long the way as i go along with my renovation and get pointers from all the experienced peeps here.

Got a few quotes from a few IDs already and all i can say is,"Kill Me!!"

    Anyway, heres the Floor plan of our new place;

    The House
