Please help.
My electrician and contractors are hired separately.
My electrician is insisting that the casings should be nailed to the walls first before plastering, giving reasons such as the plastering will look better after that.
My contractor is saying that the casements should only be done after plastering, as then, the walls are smooth!
Which is more correct?

No.Before the due date. The property tax letter should has stated down.
All we have received so far is the giro letter... So how? Do we request for a statement or something??

Hi guys,
My 2nd appointment was done on 28 Jan, and we have received a giro form with regards to the property tax.
Can I check,
- Are both my hubby and I supposed to pay the sum ($700+) of property tax EACH?
- When are we supposed to pay?
Thanks!
-
Really? What model is it? So I can buy the same...How much did you get it for?
-
Thanks for the advice! I will definitely make a police report with all the stat board letters den!

No.CPF and IRAS don't change the address base on your input. Need the exact person go and change his address on NRIC.
May be they will put a record in their database. Person not contactable.. <my guess>
Ex-tenants.. that's under his name not yours.
reminder letter.. just return back to SP services. If they still keep on sending after few return.
email to spservices@singaporepower.com.sg
Great! Thanks for your advice!

Will Stat Boards like CPF/ IRAS etc all be bothered to change the addresses on their end if I do that?
Also, the ex-tenants have owed SP services more than 600bucks (according to the agents) , and the reminder letters are still coming!

I bought a resale flat, and completion was done last month (28/1).
This house was tenanted for the last few years, but the tenants had shifted away since Oct 2010.
However, I am still receiving all their mails, including CPF, bank and other statutory board letters. Is there anyway I can complain to ICA or SPF that the tenants are still using my address on their IC? This is rather worrying, as it means they can go borrow money from loansharks, and I will be the one bearing all the problems!
Thanks guys!

I wanted to roll ong lai immediately after heading back to the house after we got the keys at second apptmt.. But hubby said "roll le, later contractor hack the floors and hack all your cai away", so we decided not too...
Contractor said can throw rice and salt le, so we did that, and then MIL said should only do that after contractor hack away existing cupboard.. So we went back again the day after completion to throw rice and salt again..
At the fruit store while buying fruits, store keeper said "eh, buy new house le must roll ong lai" so we bought two and rolled it before the second throwing of rice and salt..
And now my MIL says should have only rolled it upon hand over or on the day we shift in..
Aiyah, everyone has their own rules, so as long as you are happy can le! (after all, I doubt any one will be like us, throw salt and rice twice, and will also roll ong lai twice. lol)

Haha, everyone buys that aircon. Been using for 3 weeks. How is the feedback on the aircon? I am still looking for my aircon, haven't decided yet.. One of the most important thing will be the noise level of the compresser/air con unit.. My hubby can't fall asleep when it's noisy...

Another reason is that hot air rises and cool air sinks.. Usually, a typical two door fridge shares the same fan coil or something (I can't remember). And if the freezer is at the bottom, it has to work harder to cool the fridge area as thats where the hot air will go.
Not sure if this sounds logical. Was what a promoter was explaining to me when I was deciding between a Samsung fridge (freezer at the top) and a Panasonic fridge (freezer at the bottom).

hi zer061zer0, nope our place is in pasir ris. but im staying in 400+ tampines with my parents till the house is ready.but yah upon deeper thought, having such a big master is not "future-proof" should there be any expansion. who knows we might want to have 4-5 kids
LOL.
furthermore, we really like the place and intend to stay for long. so quite a lot things to consider.
actually it took us 5 months, 80+ phone calls to sellers and 30+ viewings before we found this unit. almost felt like giving up a few times if not for my partner's patience, we might have settled for something less. of coz we had the luxury of time to search for the perfect one.
any pics of your place?
my reno will only start after CNY..
My parent's place is in Tampines 400+ too! and my new home is also there, just the next carpark entrance away. hahaha

Gosh, I spot some similarities between yourself and me!
1. Your house layout is exactly like my parent's place (where I am staying now),
2. Your submitted layout is similar to what my hubby and I submitted to HDB for our own flat! We spent close to two months thinking what to do, and finally decided that was the best layout possible.
3. We bought the exact same model of washer/dryer
4. Even the placement of sink, hob and fridge are the same in the kitchen!
LOL.. GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE!
Is your place around 400+ in Tampines?

- Dining table (I love this, I've spent hours looking for dining tables in many furniture malls but I immediately knew that this was the one after I saw it. My ah-ma was questioning me, looks like chopsticks, cross here cross there, can stand meh? cos she is supposed to be the sponsor for this item. I think it's something completely unlike what she imagined we'll buy. lol)
- Dining chairs (bought 4x white ones to match the Eames-design table, will buy 2 more but still looking around for other chairs to match)
Hi,
your reno is looking good! Can I know how much did you spend on your dining table and chairs, and how much did it cost? Thanks!
-
Hi... Can check with you on the costs of your invisible grilles?

Haha.. Lots of time to think of space-planning is really true!
For me and my hubby, we have been scratching our heads over our space-planning for more than 2 months le, even before we signed the OTP for our flat, we already visited IDs to see how we can make the best of the space! But in the end, the final idea comes from both of us, as some of the ideas given by the IDs are really nice, but not really feasible if there's family expansion!
Good luck for your reno, and can't wait to see your end results!

Hi,
Is your flooring laminate or vinyl? Any comments about it so far? I am thinking of doing laminate/vinyl flooring for my new place, but not too sure about the end product.

Hello, nice house!
Saw that you did laminate floor? How has it been so far? Will furnishings leave a mark after being placed on it for a long time?

Anyone knows what are the construction barricades for? What are they constructing/building there? Along Tampines Street 45, the open field near blocks 491/492?
Thanks!
