  1. Hihi all, would like to ask if anyone knows whether can existing Aircon be sold as my aunt will be moving to new house and the new owner dun need their Aircon? Any idea where can we sell to? It's system 3 and in gd condition too. Appreciate ur info shared. Thanks. :)

  2. i am one who is particular in everything especially service when it comes to shopping . so i did a recce around a few shops before making my final decision . the quotes are for :

living room : day and night curtain

master bedroom : day and night curtain

walk in wardrobe : night curtain

    guest room : night curtain

MGL CURTAIN AND FINISHING : $1370

the person who served us was May . i called her a day before to make an appointment , just to make sure thats shes around . its through this renotalk forum that i get to know the existence of MGL and a lot of good feedbacks about May . and indeed she is **** good ! very professional and patient . give us a lot of ideas , pros and cons of choosing the different type of fabrics , tips in handling the curtains and explain to us every single detail . its very informative as my spouse initially do not understand the difference between day and night one . MGL has a wide range of designs and fabric to choose.

    KING AND KING'S WONG : $4659

service was averagely rendered by Doris . she give good suggestions but however they dont have wide range , although all their designs are gorgeous. the price is also very expensive .

    MEGA CURTAIN : $1900

as recommended by a friend , i should be looking for mr tony poh , but he was on site so mr k.t attended to us . he rushed into everything. from choosing the design to giving us the quotation and closing sales. i just dont like.

JIMMY TEXTILE @ JOO CHIAT COMPLEX : $1480

didnt talk much , just calculate seeing our floor plan . the price they quote is base on $25 fabric.

JIMMY TEXTILE @ TANJONG KATONG COMPLEX : $1077

the lady who serve us wasnt willing to serve us 100% , knowing that we just ask for quotation . just to lazy to entertain . she said she gv discount from the $25 fabric to $18 .

    J & S DESIGN @ TANJONG KATONG COMPLEX : $3800

didnt give us much tips and ideas .

    Kim TEXTILE : $1690

    not much variety.

H&M decor : she estimated $1300 or less. didnt even bother to calculate .

We made a conclusion to go for MGL may . shes the best person by far . heard that their workmanship is also good .

Hi Rose, thanks for the feedback of the curtain shops u experienced, can i know which type of curtains and what are the materials for the curtains u did at MGL, for living hall and all the rooms? Care to share ur quote? Thanks.

  3. i just had roller blinds done today by Mr Chew. he also does curtains and other window stuff.

    one word: FANTASTIC!!!!

    quality:

rolls up and down smoothly and in proper alignment too. u cant see the edge of d blinds overlapping as they roll up.

    service:

u knw hw installers hv to drill mounting holes into ur walls or ceilings n dirt & dust is generated n after they finish d job, u'll hv to clean up, vacuum and mop, plus surrounding furniture also gets coated wif dust? well, wif Mr Chew, thr's no need to. he's got a customised vacuum tt he uses to vacuum up d dirt & dust as he drills. for clean freaks like me, this is just perfect. those who call him, can mention Jason frm Jurong East. he'll surely rmb my newspapers....lol.

    price:

blew my mind. unbeatable, given the level of service n quality u get. even my painter, and my ID also jawdrop.gif bowdown.gif when they heard his quote to me. obviously, both of them asked me for his contact.

as far as i'm concerned, nx time, whenever anyone ask me for referral, or whatever house i stay in, all my curtains, blinds etc will be done by Mr Chew so long as he's still doing it. even if i hv to pay him a little bit extra to do....haha.

for those who want his contact, PM me.

  5. Hi all,

Pls share with me your bank's reno loan banker contact details and would appreciate it if you could explain the difference between reno loan variable and flat rate and what are the costs and processing fees involved.

If let's say i take up a 25k loan to be repayable within a year or within 5 years...

Thanks and have a great day ahead...

  6. i've checked with jason and examined the reno that i needed, in order to ascertain that the air con won't impact or hinder the rest of the reno before i decided to go ahead with it. ideally, the air con should be installed after i've hacked the wall, and before my pole system closet is up (as part of the trunking runs behind the poles). unfortunately, i guess i was being a little impatient and wanted to see some progress :P

as for the glass door, i think it's a good ideal. however, it never came across my mind to have one installed there. personally, i enjoyed seeing the passageway as it is, as it creates some depth :D

Hi Floppy, i'm sourcing for recommended reno id/contractors can share with me your ID's contact and your reno quote? Thanks and have a nice day ahead . ^^
