Most banks are Very Inflexible, once you have a little mark ... they'll never loan you.
I tried most major banks and got turned down. Went with Hong Leong Finance eventually.
When I started to bank in big amounts to DBS, their loan department came calling asking
why I didn't choose DBS for their housing loan. Told her to check with her department on
why DBS didn't trust me, and to also check my old application.

I need some simple cleansing advice, here is what happened TODAY
me and hubby started a small business, nothing big and we only wanted a
place to do our paper work and store some goods. a friend runs a pub
and has an unused extra room and we converted it to an office.
just today we went down to do some paper work, and I faintly saw a figure
walked passed the bar. we ignored it and while hubby was printing out docs
and i was chatting on the phone, the transformer on top of the Beer Fridge
caught fire, i screamed for my hubby and we just stood there watching it
and within 20~30seconds it just died off. there was a slight smoke but
oddly the fridge was still working (?) I thought it would auto cutoff and
stop ??
can some one advice what can I do so that I don't offend the entity ?
or is it some sort of sign from the entity NOT to do business within the pub

It took us months to look for a renovation contractor and finally settled for one
I was thinking of cutting cost and started looking at individual contractors for
different jobs. It started with flooring, either tiles or laminate but since it
is only a 3room flat, we decided to settle for as cheap as possible as we don't
intend to stay there long.
- Flooring ... went with FloorXpert
- Electrical works ... done by hubby
started looking for contractors for kitchen, painting, cabinet contractors...
it was such a hassle and settled for an all-in-one instead.
We're pretty happy with the works done, especially the kitchen
Pictures coming soon

I am curious, are there any fences around the entire estate and do they have guards patrolling ?
Sure! I try to the best of my ability.
Yea, no gates. I am quite ok with this strangely. Perhaps because I have good neighbors whom I am very thankful for. It also seems to open up the space. As for window grills to my knowledge none of the 200+ units in this precinct has installed any grills. They look very ugly like prison! The precinct is a double gated community (2 security gates, one to get into LF and another one to get into the precinct) with security patrol and house alarm installed with panic button. Which was one of the main criteria when I decided to place my deposit for a unit back then.
Thanks for the minder! I think remove the photo la.

any contact for door contractor ? thinking of buying direct and put laminate over

this rule is for BTO (aka NEW HDB) correct ?
what if you've got a resale, stayed less than 1 year and buying pte property (aka condo)
MOP is still 5-years for resale flat ?
-
Hi all, lets say I've not yet MOP on my HDB (but have full settled the purchase) - Can I still buy a condo ?
-
where is the URL to apply for HDB approval to sublet entire unit ?
I went to HDB online and it guided me to a section to sublet, after punching in
relevant info, it requires me to enter the tenants details ?!?!? I need to seek
HDB approval first, advertised etc before I can have tenants details right ?

have u tried talking to buyer to sort it out ? bypass the **** agent.
i smell that its something to do with agent, maybe after talking to buyers you can understand the
picture better. at the same time, tell them how you feel and why you need a month.
and BOTH of you lodge a complaint against the said agent.

67sqm with utility roomahhh.... 67sqm. but your living room and kitchen looks so much bigger
anyway, ran thru your thread and i must say it looks AWESOME.
i'll give alan a call next week
-
neubie, whats the sqm of your renovated 3rm ? it looks so much bigger than mine some how (mine's 60sqm)
-
At least ur flooring more modern than mine:D. Wall tiles that one can tear down n replace with new ones or screed n smoothened with cement n paint.ya... kitchen floor is "OK" but still need to change cos there's alot of cracks and chipped off titles which can't be seen in picture
wait till you see the living room floor !

Check out the kitchen floor and the wall below window
then check out the next pic of kitchen wall

Toilet condition - VERY bad and have this stench coming out. Rusty and in need of an
over haul of pipes ( most likely PVC to replace the existing metal pipe ????? )
-
some contractor followed me up, took a look at the place and said the condition was very bad and alot
of things needs to change. i was shortly quoted "roughly" 30K for practically Every Thing.
The only thing that does not need to change is the toilet windows / room windows & grille / living room window / grille
sigh... thats how bad the condition is.
Help: Backed Out Before 1St Appt, Agent Charged Us With Full Comm As Damage Fee
in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums

wow 20 days and no replies.
its one **** of a an expensive breakup. best to contact your lawyer and seek advice ($ again)
they will surely get a better price since prices has gone up. i wished my buyer cancelled the purchase cos' i sold my unit for $450K and now its worth $600K (wtf)
looks like its going to be a long battle. ex-gf did not sign and will most likely contest the 0.5% commision.
maybe get the agent to get the other 0.5% directly from her ? hopefully after awhile they give up and close the case and pocket your 0.5% ?
check what you have signed. if it does not indicate 1% comm fee after successful purchase, you might have a case and contest it. like you've said, you didn't buy any thing... how to pay comm.
contact CEA, your lawyer ... they are the best people to answer. I just kaypo only
