  1. Huh? It's just like draping a (plastic) table cloth right? Not fixed/taped on one unless you want to go for the $16/yard version which will cause problem when the table is extended...

Btw I forgot to take photos of the other varieties available, e.g. in fake plastic lace and some prints. Clear works for me lar, but if they sell means there is demand for patterned plastic right? :P

One more question. Where did u see yours?

Anyway, if u are able to get those sticky type, juz mix a little soap wif water into the spray gun (those u use for ironing), and spray onto the tape before applying. The mild soap mixture will help u to paste the tape easily as well as to remove the bubbles.

Thank you for the brilliant solution!!!! 2 thumbs up man!

  2. Only a few more days till completion, so I think I'll just post completed pics so spare you the incomplete mess. Have promised to let my IDs take pre- and post-furniture pics.

ID sent me this pic today. Grills up!

    photo.jpg

Almost forgot - the lock will change. Think my IDs cannot take how ugly and protruding the grill lock is... so when she sent me the pic and she also quickly added that the lock will change. :D

Anyone got suggestions on a nice and simple doorbell? We just need the 'ding dong' sound (traditional huh?!). But design of the button and sound box must be either plain to the point of being unnoticeable or got some nice design. Help anyone?

Thats fast!!! Completion coming heart sure beat **** fast lor. But i am sure all sure swee swee de la. Congrats in advance wor.

  3. I also used thick transparent plastic sheet to protect my table top. I got mine from a hardware shop in AMK hub.

Yo, can do me a big favor?? i sua ku never see those sheet b4. Can take a foto post it here so i can know what i am gonna look for?

  4. I also used thick transparent plastic sheet to protect my table top. I got mine from a hardware shop in AMK hub.

Nice. Which hardware shop at which bllk or area u got it at then i go search for it.

See if u could get those plastic sheets tt can be sticked onto the table surface (like wat we did for hp screen protector). Like tt, u need not worry abt length. Juz trim off the edges to size.

That's a superb idea but dunnno can find or not. if not buy those plastic sheet then cut it to size i guess.

Boy, please post more pics when your house is ready! Can't wait!

Nothing to see la. What u see on blog is mostly it le. Just waiting for this month to pass in order to do curtains or most likely blinds.

  5. Oh me too dun want any Teflon coated pans or woks! Using WMF stainless steel frying pans and got myself an anodized Chinese wok!

Bakeware.... Robinsons, tangs all have also. Or order online!! Haha amazon or what.

I also using wmf but always stick until I **** sian. Difficult to cook eggs with the sticking. Thinking if I can find nice ceramic pans.

  6. LOL, I was reminded while reading this that I haven't told my parents (or his) that we have black toilets.

JonsMom, don't worry so much about the comments. I'm sure they mean well, but you are the one staying in your home, not them.

Joyous, can I have the granite contact pls? Just in case I hate my solid surface and need to change in Phase 2.5 of the reno... :P

    Thanks babe!

No solid suface la! Easily scratched wor. Get granite or quartz surface unless u can be very very careful with your solid surface wor.

Joy: nice stuff. Great to see it coming along good. And waiting to see your lights!

  7. Do you want a non-stick one? (On a sidenote, what is the opposite of non-stick?)

For non-stick I think Tefal is still the best.

For normal non- non-stick (LOL!), I use WMF. It's a bit on the heavy side but distributes heat properly and lasts. My mum had her wok for 10 years and still working perfectly fine.

Are you looking for bakeware, or baking supplies?

For baking stuff, you can consider http://www.tottstore.com/ in Bt Timah. Not cheap though.

For baking supplies, the most wellknown is Redman/Phoon Huat. They also sell bakingware as well. http://www.phoonhuat.com/

Thanks! I want a non stick but no Teflon on it. U reckon ceramic pans helps? And for wok, what's good for Chinese cooking? Anodized?

ThAnks for the info on bakeware. Will Sia Huat have those stuff?

  8. Hi all, need a bit of help and suggestions. I want to buy frying pan and wok but dunno wat to do. Was looking at green pan but reviews are so bad about it. Anything u guys used that is superb so far?

Also wanna find out where I can find a shop which sells great baking stuff? Thanks a lot.

  9. Ok, to be fair about the whole incident, my ID explained that the charges are higher due to concealed wirings/switches. So as I understand from reading other RT threads, concealed points are more expensive than non-concealed ones. Any experts to help clarify?

I also took the chance to look around the electricals in the apartment today and it's true that many of the switches are concealed in false walls/panels or in carpentry. The electricals VO is still not resolved, but I don't feel as upset. At least I think I can sleep better tonight lor. Unlike the last few days. :P

Mine place got alot of concealed switches in false walls n carpentry but that doesn't add to the electrical bills but to your false wall bills. It should not be more work as when they are running the cables, the just run loose. Unless u are saying they have to hack into walls and make good of the wall which for hdb is illegal. Just how i think it works for my case at least.

  10. The lamp reflection on the table looks good. :good:

Will you be getting those transparent plastic sheets (like book wrapper but thicker) to protect your table? I feel a bit 'auntie' about it but I intend to get the sheets to protect my table. :P

Oh. got such stuff ah. i also want but i dunno where to get lor. already scratched le lor.

    Sian 101%.

    :furious:

  11. Glass tables are like that. Mine is black glass even worse!!

Oh he sd not fully arrive yet. He will inform when the items are ready!

Wah! Not just attract finger prints lor. It also scratches so easily.

  12. the light and the dining table is so beautiful! i also like this light but hubby dun like..hahaha anyway waiting for the lights to arrive!! haha getting anxious le!

Thanks. But this table is finger printing machine. Got to wipe wipe n wipe.

Did u manage to ask for the lights earlier? When is it scheduled to arrive again?

  13. Here are the pictures of the dining table with the dining lights which finally arrived after a few weeks of eating on the floor and sofa. Super duper heavy. The sharp edges have to be covered with rubber to prevent accidental bruises.

Non extension for 4-6 and extended for parties where there will be alot of food and people.

  14. Two things that make me really heartache about my reno this weekend... :(

    1. The sliding windows in my bedroom, which means I can only ever open one side... :~

    regret.jpg

    2. A shocking VO for my electricals, bringing the total electricals bill to a whooping $7.2K !! ! :jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::bangwall:

I've asked my IDs for a detailed breakdown for the heart attack inducing figure. :curse:

Anyway, so really no mood to post more pics this weekend lor. Super upset man. :(:~

7.2k = alot of moolah. better find out the details and see if ur id can absorb.
