  1. Maybe i can give some suggestion, instead of hacking why not wall plaster it will be cheaper indeed. :yamseng:

yes indeed...just like what cheesecake did....

for our case, due to the limited kitchen space we have, we are doing more cabinets (top and bottom)...so the end result is the wall tiles are covered up by cabinets...

btw yours is which layout ? mirror image of cheesecake ?

  2. cheesecake..wanted to ask you. your white kitchen cabinets is glossy type or matt type?

i answer on her behalf...her think is matt....

    cheesecake : sorry..ans on your behalf... :P

Actually glossy or matt easier to maintain ? Heard many different views on this....some say glossy easier to maintain (in term of colors) but prone to scratches (sound quite logical)...some say the other way round... :good:

    Anyway i chose matt...:dancingqueen:

  3. Thanks. So you mean you have extend the kitchen area?

No...I did not extend the kitchen area although some id suggest that to me...a lot of cost to hack the floor tiles, etc.

I just half hacked the existing dining wall....

Sg so many rich ppl hor? lol We belong to the low-income one...lol...

I suspect im a destroyer. the minute i see my kitchen, i noe i will hack off everything. No regrets also :dancingqueen:

Actually, dun hack is best cos hacking is also expensive....but....i see the kitchen, abit eye-sore...

ya loh..i thot so too... :good:

Now your kitchen nice liao loh...haha...no more eye sore.... :P

  4. I nver hack anything, not even a single wall. Cos I will feel heartache if I do so. We are paying for everything in the house, when we first buy it. But I think we can offset all these poor designs by doing up beautifully other areas. If next time have money, can then do second phase of reno.

actually initially i have no intent to hack walls as well....but when i look at our kitchen...it is simply too small...

frankly speaking...i have no regrets hacking them off....

but yours dun need to hack also nice leh... :good:

  5. Yep..we were aiming for punggol flats but we failed to get even thou we willing to wait...even BTO also cannt get...

    Commonwealth...if commonwealth, i will need a 40yr loan !! heh...

yeah...surprisingly it sells like hot cakes...

the recent balloting for jalan membina...wah...400+ flats...3k applications.... !!

  6. U same as me..melody told me u practically wanted to hack the whole place but i told her i understd how u feel cos i also the SAME!:)! I got quotes for practically everything dat can be hacked loh...actually, we buy this flat is becos of location mah. How we noe the insides suck? Hehe...i would prefer a standard flat & i dun mind spending more on flooring cos im quite particular abt floors. But too bad...force us to take premium. Envy my downstair neighbour who can hack everything :P Btw, the vanity top stains quite easily !!

ya...i was like "how i wish i can hack this hack that"....but when you come to the numbers ($$)....i know i cant...if i hack, a lot of things i can't have....so i rather live with it....but it's true enuff, once most of the things are up...will not be so bothered with the tiles ,etc...:)

Cos we don't habe a choice...

If we don't want... ppl will grab.. n we got to wait..

    !!

    Standard will be better..

Should take a look at clearme's place...

floor tiles is nice... toilet wall tiles also nice..

probably our area was ready since... 6 yrs back... so the design is as of then!

ya...pungol areas the flats are nicer...but it juz too far for us...maybe both of us are south and west kids...so naturally prefer south or west....

I saw the commonwealth flats also quite nice...but the price... :notti:

  7. Heh...but when ppl enter ur door, wont see the kitchen 1st mah...so no need to spend so much on kitchen !! Spend on areas where ppl can see at 1st glance more value, hehe...I also loh..actually, glass door v useful. I always close it when cooking esp frying...i hate the smells spreading to the whole hse...esp im the sort who's paranoid abt smells :notti: U sure cook one loh...sooner or later u or melody sure cook...cos eat outside everyday takes a toll on ur wallet...but u can go ur in-law's plc to eat..save $ !!

    ya..true i agree...hee..:P

think we will try cook during weekends perhaps....can try new things...haha... :)

  8. actually everything is okay.. except for the orange tiles...

    everyone hates it!~

So this weekend can drop by ur place? !!

haha...actually a lot i dun like...i dun like the floor tiles...i dun like the toilet tiles...i dun like the vanity....arghhh...then why i buy this flat...haha....

sure. I'll ask melody to sms you if we are going up but nothing much to see yet. !!

  9. Ah Kiat, are you doing top and bottom on both sides for your kitchen cabinets?

I'm only doing top and bottom cabinets for one side. The other side i already hacked half, hence cannot have top cabinet.

My Kitchen is very cramped...yours is doing top and bottom for both side rite ?

  10. Wow looking at ur kitchen must be veri nice, u all intent to place glass over it right. :thumbs up:

nice meh...haha...i see the orange tiles i wanna faint leh...haha.... :dancingqueen:

yeah...i will glass it up...no choice...prefer not affect my living room while doing cooking (although both of us dun cook :D )..:P

  11. Btw, JP got doc for me to see? Got once im so ill i took leave instead cos i duno where got doc in my area & i dun have the strength to crawl to the doc by taking bus. Asked my hubby but he also duno cos he duno hw to take bus & he hardly sees doc...

LOL...this is confusing. So u r the real kiat lar? Its ok since the dateline is June rite? Cant rem ur big day when...i tink its Aug or Sep? Heh....paiseh, still ask u gown fittings how...wuhahaha....tiring rite? Reno always have to run here & there...

For doc, there are some clinics at JP, forgot which level liao...got one level is all the clinics one...if not there is also one clinic across JP, first floor of a HDB block...forgot which block but definitely is 69x. The block is painted green color one.

It's in Sep. We are going fittings early Apr. :(

    yeah...but it's fun loh...like to see progress....hee...too bad i stay too far...if not i will go up everyday...haha.... :bangwall:

  12. Keke...yingjie...how r u??! Dat time i did receive ur email but forgot to reply cos was changing my seats etc in the office..change jobscope liao...hehe...now is PA & my boss super nice..he bochap wat i do, heh~

Lights are up halfway...my id bring his electrician away to rush another handover unit... :D

haha...but we are ok since we are not in hurry.... :thumbs up:

  13. Long time no see everyone :D *coast is clear already*

So far, quite a few neighbours have moved in already :yamseng: Area is not so quiet anymore plus i saw a malay wedding held nearby last Sat. But i still hear strange noises at nite esp when im alone at home so i juz lock my MBR door :P

Some areas of my parquet flooring is badly scratched by my lousy computer chairs (rollers not working properly). So ppl out there, dun stinge on computer chairs if u love ur parquet :yamseng: Its actually quite windy although i close my main door most of the time. Also, still kenna tripped by my MBR platform a few times when i was walking abt in the dark, lol. Hubby also knocked against the kitchen glass door very hard when he was taking food to the living room after cooking :drunk:

My white kitchen is still surviving well thanks to the glass. I still find glass easier to clean compared to stainless steel. Light-coloured kitchen solid tops must be cleaned regularly. But i realised scratches are not obvious on my kitchen top. I have two top cabinets above my sink areas & till now, haven got to use them yet cos too high leh. So now, soft of cfm i realli dun need top cabinets. But then again, i hardly cook..usually very simple food only.

Washing machine & fridge is working well for now. Hecom Seahorse sofa is fine also...i tink its good to buy a harder sofa.

Having parquet floorings & laminated platforms, i tink laminates are easier to maintain.

Monthly bill is about $70-90 so far. Hardly on aircon but when hubby's relatives & frens drop by, they will on the aircon for the whole nite. Abt thrice a mth i tink. Have visited the sportsa stadium & went swimming once but have yet to try the Sakura buffet :thumbs up: Still adapting to life in Jurong West :) But...i really hate Boon Lay interchange. Its a nitemare....

look time nvr see u ard cheesecake...how's life....:notti:

  14. Hello Ah Kiat, nice meeting u in person and mymelody. Sorry last Sat busy at Ah wai's hse so by the time we abt to go u had already left.

Will come and disturb u someday, hopefully I am welcome. :thumbs up:

Nice meeting you too bro. :P

No prob, I should be paiseh as i left early cos the workers are working on my carpentry so i dun want to disturb them...

Sure no prob, we should have a lot of chance lah since we are so near each other... :D

Got chance should pay you a visit too....to drool :) on your nice nice house...

  15. not sure if stdout is referring to me...:)

I had a portion of hollow area in the structural wall (not the whole wall though)...where you knock on that particular area, it is very obvious it is hollow....I din explain much to the HD* people as the knocking sound explains everything....they were straightforward enuff (*surprisingly*) for this case and offered to hack the affected area and make right the wall. (take note not the whole wall as it is a structural wall, they should not hack off the whole thing)...

    Good luck stdout... ;)

  16. hahaha.. yup yup!! 2 rain shower sets r KrisRoz.. almost wanted to get the same for the sink Tap.. cos got KRIS on the tap.. haha but in the end we paid ard $210 for the Blanco tap to go with the sink :dunno:

The sales rep at PS HoeKee is friendly and know the stuff well. Even my hubby commented so..
