    ah kiat,

    how did u make the photo size so small? i cannot do it... able to teach me...

    My photos are all linked from external sources where the size of the photos are already been reduced to such a size.

    I believe renotalk does not allow uploading of photos but do allow links to the photos from external sources.

    As suggested by the fellow bro/sis here, you will need to sign up for those free photo hosts like photobucket, etc....

    To attain the desired size, two ways :

    1. Resize your photo to the desired size before upload to photo hosts.

    2. If the photohost supports resizing(e.g. photobucket), use them to resize your photos and use the links from there. Photobucket allows you to choose from some of the pre-defined sizes when you are uploading your photos.

    Not sure if this is confusing for you.

    Hi ah kiat, the gate is $368. Comes with chrome door handles & computer cut keys :unsure: I dunno :notti: if the price is considered expensive or not. Maybe got cheaper ones :notti:

    Ho ho ho, our kitchen design is confirmed!:deal::P

    No top cabinet to create a more open look. but there will be more cabinet at the washing area. just in case there's not enough storage space :bow:

    Ordered my wrought iron main gate today. Installation will be done on 16-03-2007 :D

    These r the 3 latest design. I chose the 1 on the left :P

    I got myself a wrought iron unit number plates too :D Got the 1 on the left with the arrow head.

    The false ceiling at the dining area, L-Box at the living room & storeroom all done liao. Going to take pics when i have the time :notti:

    How much is the gate ? Issit Expensive ?

    Think i am just lucky. The officer just told me he cannot find any similar tiles and offer to hack all and replace.

    He give me the contractor number and told me to call myself and arrange all things with him

    Total damage will be ard $1.4k for the new tiles..

    Another unexpect budget incur in my planning :D

    Hope they do a good job at it.

    Since you are already paying the top ups, make sure they do a good job and complain if they didn't.

    Finally after a mth of stressful period, the hdb officer told me he will replace all my tiles for me :D

    Had went to the hdb appoint tiles shop to selected wat tiles i want and make arrange with the contractor on the top-up amt

    Call him last week and he told me he will go hack the tiles in my hse on tue

    Went up to my hse today and check all the tiles are already hack

    :notti: Quite unexpected as i had heard of many horror story here

    After hacking, wat is the next step?

    Putting on the cement to level the floor or they will start to lay the tiles already?

    wah...really envy...can make hdb hack the tiles for u and can choose tiles somemore :D ...wish hdb can do that for me too...haiz...

    Wat will u do if HDB say they do not have enough tiles and ask u to accept a 'similar' tiles?

    a) Accept

    b) Ask them to hack all and relay

    We waited for a week. The Officer promise that if there is no enough tiles, he will do 'something'.. that is to hack all... He told us that they will get back to me on the number of tiles need to be changed but no call....

    I call them today.

    Was told by the contractor that they r relaying the affected one now. Obviously, they r using the 'similar' tiles to relay those serious one...

    Where is the promise? They didnt even seek my consent to lay the 'similar' tiles colour!:notti:

    Then how about those uneven tiles??? Not going to change?? :lol:

    I insist them to hack all and relay, but they reject.

    They insist on changing those serious one onli.

    Now they ask me to meet them again to see the tiles...

    Shall prepare to shot them. Going to take a ruler, a phonecard to show them the "1mm"....

    Sick of hearing the 1mm rule...

    Was told that HDB DO NOT HAVE 600 x 600 tiles!:lol: (anybody here have 600 x 600 floor tiles done by HDB?)

    They ONLY HAVE 400 x 400 tiles??

    Wah lau...whack them...who say they dun have 60x60 ? New flats in SengKang and Pungol all have 60x60...although may be different HDB contractors...

    after looking at many lights, we were recommend the m'sia lights are bettar, but a bit more expensive than china/taiwan lights.

    the boss who serve me is very knowledgable , make good receommendation and my electrician said i made a good choice on the lights too.

    well, i got for a good reasonable price and is cheaper than those in Geylang lights. Service wise. no horse run. superb. one of the best shops i visit so far.

    and never let your ID bring u buy light. they get fees for it and it comes from the higher price you pay,

    Yes. True enuff that ID will earn from it. My ID told me too. He will earn a bit...he claim that he dun earn much from there lah....but he is perfectly ok if we want to buy on our own....Just that they can provide service like helping u coordinate the delivery lah, change the lights/bulbs for you in the event that spoilt, etc....Eventually we decided to get our own lights as we prefer to save the money on other areas....

    For downlights what tubes do you recommend ? Been told that now all osram tubes come from china...no longer from Germany...even though the box stated the office location is Germany...

    okay... think it looks like something like granite... does not look like a solid top... i also don't quite remember lor... cos that time he gave us quite alot to choose... choose until we blur...

    issit solid top that have dots and patterns ? It should be stated in your quotations....Or maybe it's granite after all...

    bro...why not u check with them ? I suggest you speak to them and say you have decided not to commit. See what they say. I think it's better after you settled this then you proceed to look ard....cleaner this way...just my suggestion only lah...

    anyway good luck to you in finding your ideal id to do your reno... :yamseng:

    Today was a nice day..My lunar Birthday and i recieved a great news...I m getting my keys on 13 of march.. :D:D

    But now is the headache part..I have arrange with agent to view the house and go visit FSM to set the date to open house and view the flat with him...and apply my reno loan...Soon all things will come in...Cant wait.. :dribble::dribble:

    Hopefully i will add pictures for my furniture and my reno..Cheers... :yamseng::yamseng:

    Luckily, my parents and in-laws are still ok...doesn't nag at us too much.... :)

    Anyway, i believe your electricals and ceiling works should be very fast...mine completed in juz a few days...

    The more time consuming will be the carpentries...

    okay lar.. probably will drag till mid Apr... everything is not firm yet.. cos waiting for Tues to start the eletrical works.. and tiling... Ya... think they will faint out... must stock up more medicated oil....

    how come start only in mid Apr? Probably your id got other job on hand... u and melody also not in a hurry to move in right?

    but they don't understand what we want... and normally they will tell u that last time they also buy bit by bit... not realising that that is very long time ago...

    I meant finished by mid Apr. Yeah...he got some other jobs on hand as well....

    Yeah...we are not in the hurry...but actually we wanted to settle with reno and concentrate on my other preparations for AD....

    ya... bigger cos i hack the kitchen wall... if our parents come up after the reno will faint... or heart attack.... will u be installing window grilles? was told by Wayne that our reno should complete by end Mar early Apr...

    haha...think both my parents and FILs will also faint if they see ours... :)

    no, i'm not installing window grilles for now...maybe next time when kids are here...

    oh that's fast ! Mine projected around mid Apr.

    hi ah kiat,

    okay... so good.. ur room will be bigger... anyway your room is already very spacious.. as compare to my unit... right now, hacking had been complete...

    left with eletrical work and tiling..... and other stuff... think weekend go up and check can already cos i also not free with my current workload...

    so how is your discussion with your id today?

    your kitchen is bigger leh....you toilet oso slightly bigger...haha.. :)

    ok lah..went thru quite smoothly...we confirmed on the laminates, colors, etc.

    Next Fri, the carpenter will take measurements....and fabricate from there...so not much work on site next week....then will be followed by paintings in the following week...

    so your main bedroom and bedroom 2 will be combine into 1.... so good... actually bedroom is already very small...

    no, i'm not combining the rooms...I'm just making my MBR to take over small portion of the area from one of my bedroom...so that my MBR can be bigger. Another wall will be erected...

    How's ur reno so far ? when can complete ?

    You are combining bedrooms? thats great! always wanted a big bedroom so that i got space for a walk in wardrobe.... but didnt got down to doing that for my house.. nvr mind.. aim nex house to have a huge walk in wardrobe.. :bangwall:

    no lah...i hope to combine them too...but considering next time when have kids i may not have enuff rooms...so i'm just taking over some space from bedroom and will erect a wall...the bedroom will then be used as a study... :)

    haha...actually my MBR already considered quite big compared to some of the other layouts in my blocks....just that mine loses out on toilets and kitchen...the rest are quite big (IMHO)... :)
