  6. Thanks bro for providing detailed analysis... :good:

Yeah...planning to get during comex...see if they can offer good deals... :yamseng:

    Hi ah_kiat,

Thanks for the compliment but i'm not a pro but getting there day by day

I do not own a great P&S (point & shoot) camera like these before so do not have working experience. My bro & sis has the older IXUS a few years back and they find it very solid and reliable. I expect the same for these latest range.

On the specs on Canon website it is very good.

If you need a larger LCD screen i would consider the newer IXUS 750 with 3.0inch screen. Saw on the newstand oversea magazine that this 750 was voted one of the best P&S camera currently due to it's features & auto setting overrides.

But as you said if your requirements is for a wider angle shot then the 850IS with 28mm is very nice to have for group & landscape pictures. Cannot compares to SLR camera in terms of wide angle unless for static situation.

No sound recording which 750 have. But the 3.8 optical zoom is very good to have.

A great overall small pocket camera. Great for all occation especially for holiday :good: .

p.s; When are you planning to purchase? End of month Comex show?

    :yamseng:

  7. No problem and thanks for the info & link for everyone to benefit :P

Good focus, perspective, lighting & post processing are the tips for good pics. Good selection of lens is also very important generally.

P.S: Canon just announced the most anticipated DSLR camera (the 40D) for US$1299 which is a very good buy considering it's specs & features :( So for those interested in getting into DSLR or needs a faster 6fps this is a good choice to consider :~

    hee...photography expert...can ask you for advice ? :(

I'm planning to get a digital cam to replace my old sony bulky digital cam...

I'm not a pro like yourself... :yamseng:

Can advise me if IXUS 850IS is good buy ?

Looking for one tat support wide angle shot...but tink wun attain your cam's standard... :deal:
