  1. WMF Pressure Cooker & Pot The missus received a 25% discount from Robinson for being such a loyal customer. Last week she went City Hall to purchase some cutlery and kitchen utensils. As we will be doing some cooking (during our free time), she bought a pressure-cooker set from WMF. Pressure-cooker is good bcos it reduces cooking time and seals all the aroma and juices of the food. The second purchase was a small pot (image below). It's an extremely important piece of kitchen item. Why? Bcos it is the perfect size for cooking instant noodle She also bought quite a number of stain-less steel cutlery from Robinson. There is free delivery by Robinson via Speedpost with every $150 purchase. Sounds good? Problem came when they delivered the goods. They delivered 2 big bags with the above WMF pots and lost the bag of cutlery. Called the delivery company, they say they got no outstanding item for us. Called Robinson, they said they packed the cutlery together with the pots from their CCTV view. So where exactly are the cutlery? They couldn't explain and they have no choice but to give us a new set of cutlery. We decided to get it ourselves this time (no more delivery). This is the first time we engage Robinson's free delivery service and apparently it doesn't work. Wasted our time and energy this morning trying to track down our item. Always check your delivered goods before letting the delivery man go. Be cautious when your package looks like its been opened before.
  2. Thanks Terence, Yup that's true. A lot of things in HDB is illegal. Anyway the pump sounds very expensive.
  3. Just had the store-room rack fixed up. The uncle was a very nice guy and finished assembling the rack within a hour (perhaps it's b'cos we are paying such exorbitant prices?). There are two types of storeroom rack: 1) so called "boltless" rack 2) and the bolt-ful (?) type. We paid for the more expensive boltless one. Below are the pics. Nothing fanciful. Contact William 98524730 Price: $290
  4. The common toilet glass door cost us $460. The shower head set is from Luxury Bath at Balestier. Forgot how much it cost. The rainshower wasn't that great. Its that tiny showerhead that is super powerful. Pressure is so strong - simply love it!
  5. WoW! Its been a long time since we last updated the blog. Been running around getting furnitures and miscellaneous stuff into the house. Renovation has officially ended and we are now touching up the finer details before moving in. As usual, pictures speak a thousand words. Here are some of the stuff that have arrived. Coffee table from Xclusive Study chairs from Xclusive A piece of advice for people gettng furniture from Xclusive. The delivery people is not going to call you way in advance (they only call you 1 day before delivery). And you won't know what time issit gona be. It could be morning, afternoon, late evening. So somehow, you have to block a day to receive your furniture. Eames-inspired lounge chair from Lush There are many shops selling this chair but we decided to get it from Lush not because they are cheap (defintely not the cheapest we found) but because its the most comfortable. This is a "custom-made" chair in a way that we get to choose the leather and wood backing. Even the design of the legs can be chosen. Overall, very satisfied with Lush's service.

  14. Thanks Strikingreality and SClofthouse for the information. Defintely helpful. Think we missed out one very important purchase from that list (which I have added in). ie. pole system WIW. We initially plan to get it from IKEA, Stolmen system, found this entry (IKEA pole system) by neubie while doing a search in forum. Reminded me that not all products from IKEA are worth buying (especially when it involves 4 figures). Other than its Billy bookcase (which we are intending to buy) cos WTB used the bookcase in her current house for 5 yrs now and it haven't collapsed. So i presume it should be worth another try. Now that we have one more item in our To-buy list. Done abit of research and spoken to ejszaka (link). I have shortlisted the following suppliers and wish to hear from all of ya who had done similar research or purchased from them. Service, price, quality etc..? - OPSH - Ximula / Alumix - Excel - Closet Design - Closet robe - Lumierawardrobe Any other supplier worth mentioning is most welcome! Thank you in advance!
  15. Cool! Thanks for sharing the infor. We have more suppliers to compare now. Just a quick qn, Sliderobes doesn't seems to have a singapore office from their website, do they? We plan to get our pole system from IKEA all along because we didn't know many other suppliers that are not charging at higher price.
  16. Hi ejszaka So you intend to get a pole system wardrobe. Can I ask which shop are u getting it from? Custom-make in your carpentry works?
  17. Can try i-lite at Jalan Besar. We bought all our lightings there. Sales person is helpful. They even offered to spray paint some of the lights that come in colors we don't like.
  18. Hi all Me and WTB need to purchase a couple of new things for our house and we seek the help from all of ya: - Household shelter rack - Wall decal - Curtains / blinds - Water feature - Pole system WIW Any good & reliable supplier is welcome. Thank you in advance.
  19. Hi Metalbone and Berdyjo, Your final product looks good! Especially like you kitchen glass door Btw our house is currently at the final stage of renovation, is there anything to look out for or check before making the final payment?? Thanks!
  20. Nope. We can't choose the type of wood, have to take walnut as it is..
  21. We did an extra full height shelve to cover the sharp corner of the wall as well as keeping our washing stuff. No big ugly pipes! We can keep our bamboos in here as well.
  22. Details as follows: We bought all our kitchen appliances from the last Electrolux Sales (should be good deals I think).
  23. Our KITCHEN is 99% done! Here is the wet kitchen area. Before After And here is the dry kitchen area. We intend to put a wine chiller inside that squarish space beside the fridge. Not a big space where we can play with the dry and wet area concept (especially when its a long kitchen layout). But this is the best we can come up with.
  24. Looking good Shout out from friendly neighbors at JW Not very close to yours though.
