Thanks for viewing P/S: Experience with my contractor Sam is a pleasant one (so far, haha...). He is very patient and responsible Although there was no impressive 3D pics/layout plan/project management schedule etc, we managed to put our ideas together and came out with the design and layout. He will give constructive inputs and never fails to came up with solutions. Feedback or queries twere promptly dealt with. Workmanship satisfactory.

The tinted mirrors are up, marking my renovation is coming to an end (pending kitchen & some touch-ups by contractor). Showing some before and after pics

Kitchen glass backing is up however unsatisfactorily done: The two adjoining pieces are also uneven (where the white line is) Some edge caps are too wide which I find it's unacceptable even sealed with transparent silicone. Paint chipped off and the installer fail to check before mounting, leaving behind a defect mark behind the glass. After talking to my contractor, he will get the supplier to re-do the entire glass backing.

My MBR wc is just like urs, in between boxup wall and vanity cabinet, also no space for toilet roll holder at the side of wc. In the end, we place the toilet roll holder infront of the wc, better that taking the risk of a twisted back.. Haha...

Noticed ur toilet roll holder is right behind, isn't it inconvenient after 'doing business' must turn back couple of times?

TV area @living room. Luv the floor lamp from Ikea. TV console Noticed the raffia string dangling from the ceiling? That is reserved for the opennet cable installation which will take place between 22 Aug 2011 to 10 Sep 2011 (too bad wasn't able to arrange installation during the renovation period) Will need to buy some decor item to place on the floor beside the speaker to conceal the cable. Still waiting for the following work to be done by this week. 1) Mirror for the living room 2) Kitchen glass backing 3) Curtains

Like to check with the forummers here whether is it a must to do the "kai men" ritual? Does it apply only to new unoccupied flat or resale flat too? (This flat that we are moving in is already 10 years old we are the 3rd owner) What is the significance of conducting the ritual i.e. roll pineapple, put apples, fa gao, charcoal wrapped in red paper, sprinkle salt and rice all over the house?

It's $2100 to fabricate & install the L-shaped shoe cabinet (c/w low settee) with feature wall for bomb shelter. The 4 corners at the feature wall are reserved for the tea-toned mirror to match my full height mirror wall at the other side of the wall.
-
Noticed that the circled area ~ the wall next to the feature wall looks quite bare? Due to budget constraint, we dropped the idea of constructing custom-made mirror. Any advice or ideas on what to do with that space? Decor?

Renovation in progress ~ Week 4 Mirror bought from Sim Siang Choon ~ should we mount in horizontally so that it will look wider = nicer? Comments, pls? bidget sprayer ~ contractor took care of the holder height so the hose will not touch the floor. There is also a valve to turn off when not in use ~ so that the water will not drip. Super-squeezy wc at MBR bathroom ~ no space for toilet roll holder
